mp3 player to stereo

ok heres the thing, i have an mp3 player and i have a stereo in my room. i dont want to burn a whole bunch of cd's, so is there anyway i can use the mp3 player to play my music on the stereo. i heard about those car cassette adapters but dont know if they would work..

what kind of stereo is it? does it have those red and white audio plugs in the back?

yea if it have more audio plugs its easy to hook up i have my computer and minidisk player both to my stereo the tv video games its fun to play around with that crap..

its a pretty old stereo, older than i am. yeah and i just checked and it has those red and white plugs. "AUX" (in & out). so those are the audio plugs right? now what? sorry, i dont know anything about electronics

you can buy this cord at radio shack and one end of the cord has a plug that you would plug into ur mp3 player just as if u were pluging in headphones, and then on the other end its got the red and white plugs, so...u just plug it in

they arent too expensive, like 3 bucks

so i just plug it into the "IN" of the ""AUX" right?

Ya, or you could get one of those things you mentioned... One end plugs in to the headphone output on your mp3 player and the other end is basically a cassette which you stick in the cassette player part of your stereo. People use them to play mp3 players and walkmans in cars.

probably like 1/8 inch stereo to RCA. or something like that. look at radio shack
