If your underthe influence in a ba dway they can, they can't find said weed without a warrant, they also can't make you give a fluid test without a court order, unless ur driving under the influence, or really stoned stupid when they are there , if u are they can take ur kids imediatly

Come on ...relax a bit huh. No need to get on her like that.
She asked a question, got an answer and doesnt need to tell you shit about the circumstances surrounding it. Would that be nice entertainment for you? Dont be so quick to assume and judge her since you obviously dont know enough of her life to have any idea why she is asking.
peace.

No, they can't take your child simply for having marijuana in your system. I had a few friends go through a divorce a while back and things got really nasty. Each was calling the other a junkie(crank, heroin) and an unfit parent so they both had tests to show that they were clean. Although no crank or heroin was found in their system both tested positve for marijuana. All this was brought out in court. Nothing was ever said about taking the kid away because of the weed and they ended up with joint custody.
Then again, if the Dept of Family Services has a file on you that's a foot thick and your a known user of hard drugs, I wouldn't be surprised if finding marijuna in your system was the last straw

Thanks for all the comments. My neighbor hates me and called DCFS and told them I a smoker, that she saw me ect. We used to be friends but her son(who was 31,we went to school together) commited suicide when my son was 3 weeks old and she has hated me since then, calls the cops on me all the time for crap like having bonfires ect. She has a serious drinking prob now. I don't drink or do hard drugs! They came to my house and found nothing of course. But the guy did mention that he knew I was a felon because they got my police record ect and I got busted in 2000 with a pound (set up by M.E.G. via my very ex-best friend.) Did my probation (3 1/2 years) paid 5grand in fines/restitution, and another 5g's for the lawyer. plus communeity service. I have Never been in any other trouble, but the cops in my small town hate me because of that and harass me all the time sense, you know pulling me over for bullshit. They know I am an activist and that adds fuel to the fire. We are moving ASAP. House goes on the market tommorow.
I love my son and would NEVER allow any harm to come to him. I don't even allow anyone to smoke cigaretes around him, let alone anything else! I am just totally freaked by this whole thing. I gave them a whole list of people to call on my behalf, you know friends, family, our preacher, my boss. I just don't trust our government and everysince I got busted I freak if I even see someone in uniform. It is hard to buck the system when you feel like your child is being threatened. Thanks again for all of your advice. I have to get back to packing but I'll check back later. Hope everyone has a good day.

Hey, best of luck...I thought I had replied to this thread, but I must've hit the 'back button'. I thought I heard that they can take your child for it. I guess your son wasn't born when you were caught, in 2000.

No he was born in 2002. I never had a babysitter so I had to take him with me when I had to meet with my probation officer. It was awful and I hated it. It pisses me off to this day, and it is an embarrassment. When you have to tell people that you are a felon it makes you feel ashamed and it isn't like it was a violent crime, I sold pot to some friends and people who used it as meds.
I found out from a knowlegeable local source, that #1 yes they have to have a court order to make you take a piss test and #2 they have to be able to prove abuse or neglect before they can get that court order. So I believe that I have nothing to worry about. Hopefully I am right. I'll keep praying. Thanks everyone.

:( Hey, chill, there is nothing at my house! I love my child and if I have to go the rest of my life and never smoke again, that's no problem to me. I am not, nor have I ever been a deadbeat parent. I smoke with my friends when my child isn't around, I was just worried about it even being in my system! I would never do anything to jeprodize my son's safety! There are alot of responsible marijuana smokers who are also parents, that doesn't make us deadbeats or make us not take care of our childern. I don't recall anywhere in this thread where pot was put on priority over my child. It never has and it never will be.

sounds like a hard spot to be in, I was terrified myself when I asked my very ex-friend and ex-roommate if she was going to pay any of the past due bills she owed on and she answered me with...
"just how much weed is in your house right now?"
luck to you.

Butters man chill a bit. I can respect a dislike for deadbeat parents but youre waaay off on this one. Read her post again since I suspect you must have misunderstood something. I read it and she is stating her devotion to raising her son proper and void of negative influence. Smoking pot does not make one a deadbeat by any stretch of the term. Calling her a stupid deadbeat is just uncalled for man. She enjoys weed, big deal.
She has the insight to know how things can impact a child, and safeguards against it like she said. She doesnt give her kid weed, neglect him, abuse him, or anything else a deadbeat does. She owns her own business and takes care of shit. Ease off!
I hate deadbeats too but I dont attack good parents just because they smoke weed . She has dealt with persecution for her choice of meds/recreation and has even recieved a criminal record due to it. Lets not continue the persecution here eh. How bout a little support instead.
peace.

Scarlett,
isn't it a pisser that it's always the first thing someone uses against you?
Do you think there will ever be a time when people realize that it is just a plant?
What's next for illegal plants? Maybe aloe vera, since it is medicene too?

I know, I hate to reveal to people I meet that I smoke because their opinion of you lowers like crazy and it is the first thing pulled out against you if anything happens.
"I forgot my pencil"
"it is cuz you smoke all that weed"
no dickhead, I just I forgot my fucking pencil, I am human.
"leave me alone or I'll call the cops"
"I'll tell them right where your fucking stash is"
Thanks alot, some police brutality would really make my fucking day.
ugh I could go on. I have had some bad encounters lately.

Scarlett,
my ex-best friend is who got me in trouble all those years ago, she got pulled over with an 1/8 and the pigs scared her into talking. I thought she should have just taken the $100 fine and kept her mouth shut. Hell I would have paid the fine for her.
Everyone I know who smokes is freaked to let anyone new into our group, you think you can trust someone and then they stab you in the back.
I'd like to have a time machine so I could go back and smack the shit out of the ones who so ignorantly made our special plant illegal.
I get into alot of trouble because I am so outspoken all the time and I wear my shirts in public. I don't believe I should have to hide out because I care about a plant and the stupid laws pertaining to it. The one about marijuana and poison ivy always draw attention (mostly positive, but occasionally people make snide comments) http://marijanetees.4mg.com
