...meter maid!

to all houstonians:

yet another hurricane is headed towards the southcoast. it's scheduled to hit land either late friday or early saturday. i'm sure you all know, but what you don't know is that i hope you all get out alright. a lot of people don't understand the severity of matters like these category five hurricanes, or hurricanes in general.
i'm being a hypocrite to the max! although i understand the severity, i still want to stay - out of curiosity of what living through a hurricane is like. i want to see it with my own eyes. don't worry about it, no hurricane is going to kill me. i know you all are worrying...lol.
ya'll have a good one! be safe!
peace.

I'm in Corpus Christi. Our city is under a mandatory evacuation, so I'm packing right now.

Hope everything turns out well for you guys, here in Georgia we've been lucky this hurricane season aside from a little rain.

I like the way you think, Ganj. I am the type to wait it out as well. Witness first-hand the powers of the strongest force that I can think of...nature.

I watched Hurrican Charley destoy my town through a plexiglass window in a heavily fortified building. Trust me. It sucks. Next time I will leave. No words will ever begin to descibe the mysery and total destruction. If you value life at all. Leave.

Ganj, don't fret, none of us will worry bout you anyways. just kidding :)

But seriously folks, after witnessing one of the worst hurricanes to hit the U.S., killing thousands of people, submerging 80% of a big city, and completely destroying the gulf port area, you are actually going to stay? What happens if Houston goes through what New Orleans goes through? Galveston and the surrounding areas could be absolutely devasted.

^ much love, natural mystic. lol
i completely understand the devastating force of a hurricane, but like ae... said. no doubt we're evacuating, but not out of my own free will. trust me, i'm not throwing a fit because of it, either.
i just think it'd be really neat to witness with my own eyes the incredible works of mother nature and through all the destruction, you can still find beauty in it.

I understand, i've always wanted to experience a hurricane. I'm sort of a hurricane junkie, i'm just not too good with math, so i'll never become a meteoroligist. Unfortunately, you picked a very strong storm to wait out. Good luck man.

throwing up the dulf coast!! lol
well, turns out we aren't going anywhere - traffic is backed up as far as the eye in sky can see. there was a coverage on people waiting in traffic on how long they've been there and the wait was something along the line of ten hours. if war were to break out in america there'd be no room for the militia to get through. i feel safe in my home and that's all that matters. hell, it beats getting caught in a hurricane where it'd do the most damage; the highway.
i'm just going to sit back, smoke some weed and wait this thing out.
