In an interview after her speech, Sheehan told the Voice she was ??so frustrated? by leading Democrats like Clinton ??who should be leaders on this issue, but are not.? Already, she has set up a future meeting with New York??s junior senator this weekend. And she plans to sit down with the state??s senior senator, Chuck Schumer, too. ??It??s time for them to step up and be the opposition party,? she said. ??This war is not going to end unless the Democrats are on board with us.?

Fuck you and your insensitive fatalistic tactless bullshit. This woman lost her son, she is allowed to be angry. You don't like it? Deal with it. Thats free speech, as much a burden as a blessing.

Somebody needs to take on the Democrats and prod them into being an opposition party. I'm tired of only hearing GOP voices from Washington.

The people of Iraq have a lot more in the line of "freedoms" now than during the Saddam era. And also, by protecting America from terrorists is also protecting our freedoms.

Somehow I think come 08 all the democrats (and most of the republicans) will be running on a out of Iraq now platform. A shame none of them were that smart back when it mattered.

40-50 thousand home for Christmas this year. I don't think by the "08" elections there will be enough troops left there for anybody to bitch about.

Really? How many died today? (2) What you are saying is the republican party prefers defeat to a continuation of the war. Probably smart politically, but somehow I don't believe that is the point you wish to argue.

The Iraqi army has been handed over control of Najaf, they were the major force,5000 out of 8500, that stormed Tal Afar. They are slowly starting to get trained to a point where they can take control.
Defeat? Nope, right on track!

Right on track to civil war, which is now the goal of the US, rather that something to be avoided. They can take over control of Najaf, holy city of the shia?, sure! OK, when will they be able to take over control of Ramadi, or Falluja, or Baghdad for that fucking matter? 12th of never, nor do they want to! Because what you are missing is that the MAJORITY wants to see Iraq broken up.
