So have you tried a bit of one of those sticky buds yet Mand?

Hello Marc :) No I've not tried any yet love. I have them hanging in the "pantry", the ventilation is not too good in there so they will take a little while longer yet to dry. In summer I dry them in a shed and they dry out quite quickly but the weather isn't very good for in there at the moment .
I did try some of the one I had to cut quite a while ago because it went "hermmie". However it wasn't very good, mind you it was no where near ready for cutting and it was not very resinous at all.
I have been really busy this week so I haven't had time to smoke anything. I've been organising things for Christmas, I think most of the tribe are coming here Christmas day so that means lots of work for me :( ........................... I'm looking forward to Boxing day, I might get a rest then ;)
Hello Scobbie :) Hows those White widows of your's doing, I bet there looking really good now :)

A Mom's work is never done. :)
Hello Bonsaiguy :) You are so right there love, it truely is a lifetime comitment but in all honesty I wouldn't have it any other way ;)
However this Christmas is turning out to be a lot of work :(
For the dinner I know there is going to be my daughter, her partner and my grandson, then my two lads and I know one of their girlfriends is defintely coming and the other is a "maybe". I've also invited a girl from work, she has not long been divorced and I know she wasn't looking forward to spending Christmas alone so I invited her to spend it with us.
The thing I have really dropped for is my brothers and their wives and all the nephews and niceces are coming round in the evening, so I'm going to lay on a little buffet style tea for them.
Honestly I'm getting worn out just thinking about it, by the time boxing day gets here I'll be just ready for getting totally and seriously .............. well "wasted" :o :)
Ok, I know I said I wouldn't but I'm just going to sneak a few pics in of the present grow :o

Hello Mand. I just want to say your plants look great. You are truly a grow professional! It's really good to see some expert growers here to help all the new people.

Yess IN deed TC. Mand let us know as soon as u try 1 of those new buds out? Mand how often do you water ur pots when there in thier big pots?
Hello Rekap :) Ah cute, but there being a "bit of a pain" to begin with :o
I have two packets of seeds both Sensi seeds, one is skunk#1 and the other is Sensi skunk. So I have took eight seeds from each pack.
Now one of the eight seems to be growing "normally", I have eight little plants that seem just had they should be ;) However two failed to sprout and there are six that seem to be "not quite right", they seem to be struggling.
The problem is since my grandson decide to "help" me by rearranging the pots before I had chance to mark them I haven't a clue which is growing right and which isn't :o
I could just germinate a few more seeds but I am going to just see how it turns out, if I end up growing less plants than usual it's ok because I would like to try a grow with a few less and see if I can get a little more light to the bottom of the plants ;) .................. You see I do have an habit of growing a few too many than I prehaps should for the available space I have in the growroom.
I might not "pinch" them this time as well to try and keep them a little narrower at the top,.......................... I'll see how they go.
I'm really just after a "quickish" crop this time, I would like them harvested by April so I can prehaps try a different variety for the summer grow ;)
Hello TC :) Thankyou love ;) Honestly I'm no professional, I'm just greedy :o ................I never seem to be able get enough buds stashed away to have a break from growing.
Also it really has become a little hobby as well, if I can help someone with their grow then that's a bonus for me :)
I don't like to tell anyone how to do there grow I would rather just say how I would do it and then they can read all the advice given to them by everyone and then do it which way ever suits them.
There is a lot of things I don't know so when it comes to anything too technical I kinda go quite :o
Hello B :) I don't have any actual set pattern for watering, I just give them a sprinkling with the watering can when they look a bit dry. In summer that's maybe everyday or possibly two and in winter it's less than that.
I think I was guilty of overwatering on the last lot. When they started drooping I thought they weren't getting enough water and kept giving them more :o
Thankyou guys ..............................love mand xxx :)

Hi Mand,
Here's a little trick we use in the bonsai hobby. But first some general info about watering potted plants, there's an easy way to see if they need water, get your finger dirty. Stick your finger in the soil about one inch or so.
If the first inch (deep) or so of soil is feels dry, it's probably time to water and when you water, drench them. Make sure there are holes in the bottom of the container so the excess can run out. Then about 10 minutes later, drench them again. Our mantra is water well and water less often. Also, you can put about a 1 inch layer of coarse gravel in the bottom of the pot, before you put the soil in (we use #2 poultry grit, which is either crushed granite or flint and will not leach things in to the soil, the granule size is about 1/4" but bigger is ok too.) which will also improve the drainage. Roots that are sopping wet all the time will tend to rot and you don't want that to happen. They need some air too. Overwatering is one of the most common killers of all potted plants. And you should always water from the top down in order to help draw some air in to the soil and help wash away salts and minerals left behing by harder water and feeding.
Now for the hint. Get your self some bamboo chopstick from the local asian restaurant or grocery. When you want to check the moisture in the soil, stick one in each pot about 3 or 4 inches deep. Go do a couple of one hits and then come back and pull out the sticks. you should be able to see and feel the moisture on the stick and get a general idea about how dry the soil is.
Works great for bonsai so it should work well for weed too although bonsai are kept in much shallower pots then pot plants.
PS to Mand: you are far too cute for my own good. ;)
Hello Bonsaiguy :) I have to admit I did go a little over enthusiastic with the watering on the last grow. Well they started drooping and I thought they were thirsty so I just kept giving them more :o
Ah well never mind, that's how we learn by making mistakes ;)
I used to have a little Bonsai tree many years ago, I don't know what type it was, it was given to me for a birthday pressie. However my "ex" decided to break it for me when he was having one of his "little temper tantrums" :(
He used to break quite a few things when he was like that, strange thing was he never destroyed anything that was special to him
Like I say though B, we all have to make mistakes inorder to learn ;)
Have you thought anymore about doing you're own little grow B, you really should give it a bash you know love, it really is easy and you honestly can't beat a little bit of "homegrown" .................. it truely is very satisfiying to think "this is really ok and I grown it" :)
Oh dear love, "cute" ................. I'll tell the kids that but they don't believe me. The thing is B, they and the rest of the family just see me as being "a little odd". They all say I should stop growing and "act my age" :o .......................... I always tell them "Hell will freeze over first" ;)
Ah well that's my posting done for a while I have a busy few days ahead :o
Merry Christmas all .....................................love mand xxx :)

Hello Mand,
I don't post much here on your thread, but rest assured, I read everything. I find it most interesting.
PS to Mand: you are far too cute for my own good. ;)
Mand, you're running away with the entire board following you.
I think I'm going to start a thread soon for your admirers... LOL! You've got tons of those in here! Good for you!
Well, I'm off... this has been a late, in-the-middle-of-the-night post. Back to sleep. I'm waiting for Santa Claus. ;)

Hello Turtle :) I hope Santa bought you lots of nice pressie's ;)
Oh dear love, I feel all kinda embarrased after you're post :o In all honesty love I'm affraid Amanda is just a middle aged woman who just drinks and smokes too much and who's family think's is slightly odd ............. I dare say they are right :o
Well I spent all Christmas day doing all the dutifull cooking and hostess type duties but I also spent all day "slurping" glass after glass of Vodka. I find it the best way to get through a "full on family get together" ;)
Hello seedypotseed :) Thankyou for that love ;)
I know I said I wasn't doing another journal and I'm not really, but I'll just do a little update of this latest lot ;)
Well out of sixteen seeds fourteen germinated and three of those failed to carry on growing in the pots, leaving a total of eleven seedlings.
I could germinate a few more seeds but I'll just stick with the eleven and I'll also mention it to the chap on the market just before I buy my next seeds ;)
Anyway I'll just add a few pics of those taken this morning.
A couple of hours ago I also tried a little of the last crop. The total outcome was not a great deal, just a few ounces :o However it is quite good, it seems very "in you're face" not suttble at all. For a time I was totally "out of it". So all in all I am quite pleased with it :)

the white widows are just about ready scatching my head at when to harvest they are at the end of 8 weeks on new years eve they are about 30% red hairsjust now so i will cut them about then so thanks for all the input mand your a star looking for a diffarent strain with good yeild but want to keep hight at a minamum so any ideas, and mand its good being middle aged it gives you time to enjoy your kids we had our sons down over christmas and it was great to go for a pint with them and just to enjoy them anyway hope you had a sweet christmas and hope the new year brings you and your family the best of health and all the luck in the new year and as we say up here happy hogmany and ill have a voddy and think of you ,salute
Hello B :) You know I was kinda dreading looking to see what I had posted on my last post, I was a little worse for wear when I written it :o
I was just looking at you're last pics on you're journal, very welldone B, super grow :)
Hello Scobbie :) Ah Hogmany :) ................. that's when I give up the Vodka for the evening and I (and the rest of the family) revive our Scottish bloodline and the only drink allowed is a few dram's of Whiskey ;)
Hmmm I always like to end up with a plant about a yard (metre) in height, I have grown taller ones but I find the that the yeild was not really any greater. As for variety, well I'm kinda stumped as to which is the best for yeild. I think that my best ever yeild came from an Afghani plant that I grew once, I did however let it get quite tall but it did produce a very potent and plentifull bud ;)
Have a very Happy Hogmany love, oh and you're not going to drink too much are you ........................... I won't  ;) :)

Well there's not much to say about my little lot :o The cold is slowing them right down, I have had some seriously "dodgy" seeds, so I'll just post a couple of pics ......................

Hello Scobbie :) Ah I may be only half Scottish but I'll still manage to get through a full share ;)
It's a little embarrasing really no one in the family actually drinks very much so I'm kinda "the black sheep" but no one will darest "tut tut" me tonight ..................... well it's traditional isn't it ;) :)
Hello Turtle :) I'm affraid that this grow will just have to take it's chances love :o In all honesty I really shouldn't grow at this time of year it's just too cold in the growroom really.
However I just put them in there and see what turns out ;)
I am counting it as eleven seedlings but there are two more that are not really doing anything, so I'll just add a pic of them but I doubt very much they will make it :o
Thankyou very much guys and a very very Happy New year to you all.

Hiya Mand, Haven't posted in awhile and your the first one that comes to mind when I visit the site..... wanted to wish you a Happy New Year!!! I got caught up reading all your post and sounds like you had a busy Xmas but it sounds like you have a great family. My Xmas and New Year were a bit uneventful, guess I'm gettin old, lol. ;)
I see you have some new babies.... way cool :D . You really should keep us up on your new grow. The site wouldn't be the same without ya. I had some Kush plants I recently harvested and did they ever smell stinky, low yield and should have been better smoke for as strong as they smelled but it wasn't bad. Got a few more about ready in flower, a couple with good size buds and one with alot of thick solid buds. I used that Liquid Karma additive with my 3 part GH and it seems to really help. Actually been sort of a inbetween grow stragglers from old grow and a few early clones that were too few to start a new grow but "waste not want not". trying to work up into a good bunch for a scrog . Managed to get within 10 or so of what I was trying for but when ya fall short you have to use even the poor starters so its not what I was aiming for but it will have to do. Just had a heck of a time making a cloner that worked , just couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong , followed all the advice and still wouldn't work well. Finally figured it out I was not sealing the humidity chamber of the cloner , had my cuttings dangling and held in lil rubber tubing and the air was dissapating the necessary humidity in the chamber below the lid. Simple to solve but knowing what was wrong took awhile to discover . Like you said we learn by our mistakes.
Well I'm just carring on like some ole magpie so I will close for now. Your the Bomb Mand everybody loves ya hun. Have a happy New Year and keep us up on your new girls, ok   :D
Boxing????
peace sweet lady :D

Hello B :) Awwww Thankyou love :) ....................... Hey you got a little drunk on New Years Eve, oh dear I'm affraid I got embarrassingly drunk :o
That's one of my fault's though I'm affraid I never seem to know my own limitations ................... Ah well never mind there's nothing wrong with "letting you're hair down" once in a while ;)
I'll definetely keep looking at you're grow but in all honesty I reckon you've got this growing lark all "sussed out" :)
Hello Bill :) very nice to hear from you :) I hope that you've all settled in now into you're new place. I read on you're other thread that you have nearly got you're motorbike "on the road", when you have just make sure that you "be carefull" when riding it, Watch out for the idiots on the road and stay safe ;)
It's been a very busy Christmas Bill, especailly Christmas day but I don't mind really, makes me feel wanted and usefull I suppose ;)
You sound kinda busy with the growing :) I have to admit that the last lot of mine didn't produce very much but I am pleased with the quailty of it.
It is quite good with a really intense "high" and a really pleasant relaxing "afterglow" to it :)
Anyway I am hoping very much to be going on a little holiday soon (in a couple of weeks) :) . I'm supposed to be going with two girls from work, one can definetely go and the other is trying her best to be able to go, I'm going to find out later today if she can make it ..................... if she can we are going to book a little Villa in Lanzarote.
That means I will have to leave the house, my dogs and the plants in the care of my boys ................... God knows what I will come back home too  , honestly Bill without me to keep an eye on them they are liable to do anything ;)
The plants :o ................. well out of sixteen seeds, 3 failed, two have never really got going and one did get going but seems to have stopped ???
So there are ten which seem ok now I'll put some pics on so you can see for yourself ;) ................... The first pic is of the two that have not really done anything and the one that appears to have stopped ???
Bye for now ................... love mand xxx :)
Boxing????
Bill
Hello Again Bill :) I think you are refering to "Boxing day" ;)
It's the day after Christmas day, ........... don't you call it that in the US ????
Oh another thing Bill, don't ever try to book a holiday online, I've been at it for the last hour or so and at the end of it all a message came on the screen asking me to ring the holiday company saying it was unable to process my details :(
I rang them and they were next to usless and can't give me the dates I wanted so now I'm back to square one
Hmmmm I wonder if the others fancy a week in Amsterdam instead ;) :)

Good job Scobbie.
That is a very good result Scobbie :)
I would be very happy with that ;) I honestly can't say what the weight is of my average harvest because I never bother weighing them, also it does vary from grow to grow, it's all very inconsistent :o .
The last grow was very poor quantity wise, the one before that was kinda average and have have the feeling that this one is going to be nothing to shout about.
Well out of sixteen seeds, three failed to germinate and three are just "no how" they will end up being thrown away because they are just refusing to grow right, so that leaves me with ten and by the time the boys have been sorted I'll probably have five or six girls.
However this is just a kinda "stop gap" grow, I'll put more effort into the next one which will be a Spring grow, they usually turn out the best grows because the tempreture is better for the plants ;)
Anyway Scobbie I think that you have done very very well with the Widows :)
love mand xxx :)

Hi Mand! Sorry I haven't been in touch lately. Mother board on the ol' technological wonder took a crap. Am using a backup right now. Old Dell 266. Wicked slow compared to the other but at least it allows me to do a few things. Send me an e-mail if ya want as I lost all addresses when Momma went away.
New grow looks good and isn't it true that you've been 'threatening' to do a smaller number grow and really let them go the distance instead of hacking them down too early like you say you always do? I think you'd be hooked with the results and it sounds as if you've got plenty to last you till this new grow matures and the trichs turns nice and cloudy/amber! Don't ya just love me?
Hello Scobbie :) You know after I posted the last pics I thought to myself "what am I doing, I said I wasn't going to do another journal for quite a while".
I'm affraid it's with being off work this last few days, I have too much time on my hands, so whenever I have a coffee I usually just log on here for a while and then I end up posting stuff :o
Now the problem is I am back at work for a few hours tomorrow but I feel really "run down" I think I have a touch of flu coming on :(
It would be just so nice to have the rest of the week off and curl up on the sofa with a hot water bottle and just watch a few of the old "weepy films" :)
Ah well such is life  ;)
Hello Marc :) well Marc it didn't snow for Christmas day :( but it did a few days afterwards ...................... blimey Marc I forgot how cold and wet the stuff really is
Hey what do reckon, there's just no suiting me is there :o :)
As for this grow love, it really is just a little thing to keep the "stash" stocked up ;) I want it "done and dusted" for the end of March/ begining of April ..............it really isn't the most ideal tempreture in my (state of the art ;) ) growroom this time of year.
I'm going to see how it goes and I think I'll induce flowering whilst they are still small and I may give "pinching" them a miss as well.
Just a very simple little grow ....................... I hope :o
Well Marc I'm off to my bed now, I really am starting to feel quite achey and a bit on the hot side ................ Hmmm might get me a few days off work ;)
If it's ok with you love I'll send you my Addy tomorrow ;)

happy holidays mand...thanks for dropping by...when do you want to go to amsterdam?
Hello Turtle :) Oh dear love I'm feeling worse :o mind you I'm not even going to try to go into work tomorrow I'm just aching all over :(
You know I hate being off and on the sick when I feel ill, it's much better to go on sick when you feel ok ;)
Tell you what though it got me out of cooking dinner tonight, my oldest son told me to go and put my feet up and he would see to it
Mind you his idea of "seeing to it" was to phone for a "take away" to be delivered
Anyway don't worry about how long it takes on a grow, you will most probably produce more on the one grow than I do on the two ;)
Hello Josh :) I see you are on the 12/12 cycle love, that is probably the best thing given the height of you're plant, I'll definetely keep my fingers crossed for you that it's a girl.
What you want to do Josh is to use this grow as a learning experience, also keep looking and reading all the different grows on these boards, and I can promise that you will get better and better grows everytime ;)
It's good to hear from you Josh, the best of luck with you're plant :)
Hello Latewood, it's nice to see you :) ...................... you know I daren't tell Marc I have no idea what a "Mother Board" or a "Dell 266" is :o
Hmmmm I think that I will give Amsterdam a miss for now, have you ever been there at this time of year, it's absolutely freezing :o Anyway the other's wouldn't be intrested :(
Tell you what though love it's getting to be a real epic task trying to book an holiday. We all agreed on a little place in Lanzarote, couldn't get the dates.
We tried to book a few others online no luck so we're planning to go into town this weekend and let the travel agent sort it out.
This booking online really isn't as good has they make it out to be, there was one place and it said £129 each for seven nights, anyway we went through all the motions of getting it priced up and it was going to cost well over £300 each with all the extras
Anyway you dissappeared just long enough for a short spell in the "nick" are you sure you were just having a break from posting  ................................... only kidding love, it's really super to see you back here :)

Hi Mand,
Long time no flirt gorgeous. Did you get sick during the holidays? Hope this note finds you feeling better. Love the new babies.

Hello Starchild :) oh this flu thing has been a real nusiance, it's very rare that I am ill but this time it really has "knocked me down" :(
I'm affraid my remedy was to add a little more orange juice to my vodka .................... for the vitamin C ;)
Hello B :) How is you're grow progressing ? .................. I bet there filling you're growroom up ;)
Not to worry though B, you are doing a super job and I'm sure you will be looking at a very nice harvest :)
Hello Bonsaiguy :) Just the flu love, but I'm starting to feel a little better today. Still I think a few more days of work will be inorder, just to make sure I don't spread any germs around ;) :)
Well what can I say about the plants ?
They are growing but very slowly, however that is normal for growing this time of year, it's the cold :o
I was hoping to be switching to 12/12 in about three weeeks time but I think that maybe a little too ambitious ...................... I'll just have to wait and see what happens ;)
I was hoping to be saying "Bye all" for a while very soon and go on holiday with a couple of girls from work but I've had people looking for me to find any "late deals". However there aren't any, the companies seem to be selling them well enough at full price this time of year, so I think we are going to wait a little while and then see what available then.
A little confession :o ................... I wish that I was going on my own. The others are talking about going to bars, clubs and resturants, and that really isn't "my scene". I prefer a more "laid back" type of holiday, travel light, go cheap, hire a jeep and spend days on the out of the way beaches................ just relax and get away from the day to day humdrum at home ;)

i love you!
Hello Buk :) I know I usually just say B, but I've read others call you "Buk" and I think it sounds better ;)
I had no intention of doing record of this grow, I didn't want to do one :o
However have you ever known a woman who doesn't change her mind ;) :)
Also I try not to constrict myself with to many self impossed rules, I like to just "play thing's by ear" and see how they turn out ;)
If I was truely honest I could describe this grow has a total unmitigated disaster, beause to be honest 10 plants out of 16 seeds is not very good :o
Anyway I'm hoping to get to the market soon so I will have a little complain about the seeds and if I smile alot whilst complaining ........... who knows I might get some free ones ;)
Yes you're hermmie :( , well ignore what I said on you're thread and get rid of the dam thing. I was thinking about what I would do after I posted, and to be truthfull after having problems on my last grow with them, I would now "chuck it away" ;)
Plus Buk, you are a little tight for space so getting rid will be benifical to the rest of the girls :)
Hello BkSkillz :) Thankyou love, a great big love too you as well ........................... :)
Dreadydrug was right, he made me realise that I was doing something that I said I wouldn't :o .................. but will I take any notice of my realisation ...........I doubt it ;)

Hey Mand! Fly over here! I've got a Jeep and some nice frozen beaches on the banks of the Mississippi River. We can go ice fishing and smoke Amanda till we're goofy! And I'll even make you a couple of those wicked cheesecakes!! Promise you a good time and a relaxed stay.
HI MAND!! :D
Hello Marc :) I tried to reply to you're post yesterday but ever time I at atempted too, I had nothing but interuptions.
A very kind offer Marc I might just hold you that sometime ;)
As for the moment the flights have been booked and we are going to Lanzarote next Wednesday. One of the girls from work knows some who knows someone else, who has a villa over there, so we have "acquired it" for the week :)
By the way Marc I thought I sent you my "addy" but I just been on my E mails and realised I didn't :o , I'll send it after this post ;)
An update on a grow that I'm not really doing a journal about :) ............Out of the ten plants there are two that are bellow the usual average condition, however they are growing.
Growth is also slow compared to Spring or Summer but that's "normal" for this time of year.
One of the packet of seeds is no good but due to the earlier mix up I don't know which one.
I was hoping to start flowering at the end of January/begining of Febuary but I think it may be a little later.
I'll add a few pics ;)

You know I was reading you're Hydro grow journal amd I think that we are going to see a real "good un" :), I'm looking forward to reading you're update's :)
Hello Marc :) You shouldn't be spending time on here, you should be painting that deer ............................. ;) :)
I am ready for a bit of an holiday, but your's sounds more fun :)
Hmmm ice fishing, sounds intresting. My grandad once tried to teach me how to fly fish for salmon many many years ago. All I managed to do was get the line in a right old tangle :o
Oh the plants, I think I will have to re-pot them before I go away. Do you know when I go away, I have to still have to ring my lads to remind them to water them for me ................. Hmmmm Kids
Hello Scobbie :) Can I just ask you a question ;)
Am I entitled to still wear a Tartan, because my Mother was full Scottish, but my Father was full English ?
My brothers say yes I am, but they would tell me anything
I ask because I know you're from Scotland :)
The lights, I use a 400 watt MH for vegitive growth and HPS for flowering ................... the ballast can accomodate both bulbs ;)
Thanks guys....................... love mand xxx :)

Hey anyone know any hotspots? but anyway I love to see the grow and u got good with the camera :D I remember ur 1st pics u said u really didnt know how to use it and now ur a expert ;) ok mand talk to u soon
Hello Scobbie :) It's strange how I value my Scottish ancestory much more than my English one. I think it was because my Mum was such a strong willed woman. She really was an true example of a real Scots Lassie, Red hair and a temprement to go with it ;)
I'm affraid I only have one item of the family Tartan, my mothers shawl, and I only wear it on special occasions .................... Talking of which it's Burns Night on the day I get back from holiday, so I will be wearing it then :)
Hello Mobay :) , Well love I have only read "bits and pieces" about TC (affraid I have struggled to find time to vist here just lately), but is it certain he has been "conning" people ?.
That is such a shame love :(
Tell you what Mobay I used to make a living doing market stalls and I used to venture into the Antiques market a little, you know buying things as cheap as possible and selling for a profit. That buisness was full of people trying different "scams" to make a "few quid". However I never did, I "bought quality" and "sold quality" ..................... and in the long run I made more money through being honest than any of the "scammers" and I could sleep well at nights ;)
Have you ever heard the saying "what comes around goes around" ........ well it's true love ;) ................... if a person lives by "ripping off" others, then it will more than likely happen to them ;)
Hello Buk :) You know love I really like to read you're updates of you're grow love ...................... you seem so full of enthusiasim (don't think I spelled that right :o ) and you're grow reminds me so much of my own growing but I feel certain that you will definately produce much more than I ever could ...................... which is fabulous to see :)
Hmmmm Las Vegas :) , well I have talked to people who have been there and I don't think it's quite my "cup of tea", I'm kinda more the old fogie scene nowdays love ................. peace, quiet and a large Vodka ;)
Although I can have my moments :o ;)
Thankyou very much guys :) ............................love mand xxx :)
Hello :)
I might not have to much time to do another update for a while so I will just add a few pics now ;)
The ten remaining plants out of the sixteen seeds have been re-potted, some are looking ok and a few are looking "bellow average". I went to the market earlier today to buy some seeds for the next grow, I also had a good moan to the man on the stall about the failure of so many of the current grow.
I smiled a lot whilst complaining and he knocked off the price of the last seeds from the ones I bought today :)
I'm not going to let these plants grow to tall before inducing flowering and I don't think I will bother "pinching" them ethier, this is just a quick basic grow.
The next grow will be White Widows and I am going to try my upmost best to make that as good a grow as I am capable of doing :o

Hello Scobbie :) , yes I always buy them of the same chap at the Sunday market, he knows me quite well now ............. well I am a regular customer ;)

Hey Mand,
Ya gotta feel pretty special with a thread that has the 2nd highest number of Views and the top number of Replies! Just think what would happen if you wrote a book! It'd be a best seller. Especially if you had photos of yourself with your shawl on as you were tending your crops as the grow progresses!! YEHAAA!!!!
LOVE YA!! Marc
Hello Marc :) Special, not really Marc I reckon most of the replies are mine, I seem to have made an awful lot of them :o
I'm supposed to be doing a log of my growing but I'm affraid I do tend to wander "off track" now and again, if you notice most of my "wandering" tends to happen when it's the last thing at night here ............. hmmmm I wonder why that is ;) :stoned:
Well I can't really do an update because there isn't anything to tell you about :o . I can tell you that I'm really ready for a little break from homelife and work. I'm just looking out the window now and it's all grey skies, rain and cold, the main thing occupying my thoughts is in a few days time I'll hopefully be looking at blue skies, sunshine and a nice blue sea.
I'm still feeling a little "run down" from the cold/flu thingy I had last week, still don't feel as though I've recovered from it properly .............. I'm looking forward to a rest :)
Bye for now ............. love mand xxx :)

That sounds great Mand ;) Your lucky to take a vacation its well deserved so I hope u enjoy your self :) I wish we here in the (States)we could walk up to the market and buy seeds :sadcrying I dont even think those websites you posted mails to the US :( Yeah but we still manage to get the seeds one way or the other ;) So why dont you want to pinch with this crop? The pinching I did seems to be working great it keeps them real short and bushy, but I only did it to 3 and 1 was a male:thumbsup: Thanx Mand
Hello B :) I know the seed situation is really strange here, it's perfectly legal to buy or sell them however it is illegal to germinate them.
You can go into a growshop and buy everything you need to grow cannabis, lights, nutrients, seeds, hydro stuff, how to grow books ..........everything, but once that seed is put in a paper towel and it sprouts, you have broken the law :(
I don't think I will "pinch" because I want this to be a quick grow, hopefully finished by the begining of April ................... hmmm we'll see how that goes anyway :o
Also I am just going to try and keep the plants narrow, I don't want to bush them out too much. The reason for this is I havent got so many in there this time and I just want to try and get a little more light to the bottom buds, it's just a little experiment to see if I can improve the yeild from the lower lower part of the plant ;)
love mand xxx :)

01-16-2006, 04:21 PM
Mand...How many flowering plants did you fit in that 6x6 area?
I'm just wondering how many I could flower under my light(1000w HPS)I'm guessing as many as I can fit in a 6x6 area...with the 1000watter I can go wider but I'm trying not to exeed 7x7.
Hello JD :) I only run a 400 watt light but I still manage to get 16 plants under it, but I do suffer from very small or imature buds at the bottom of the plant :o
That is in a area 6 x 6 feet, but with a 1000 watt you should do much better :)
Hopefully I might do a little better with the bottom buds this time as there are less plants, so when the boys have been removed there should be 5 or 6 girls left ................. there should be plenty of space ;)
love mand xxx :)
Oh on average there is usually 8 - 10 girls when starting with 16 plants ;)

ENJOY YOUR BREAK MAND    HAVE A DRAM FOR ME
Hello Scobbie :) don't worry love you can count on that ;) .......... Thankyou :)
I'll just squeeze one last update in :o
Generally they are doing ok considering the time of year, however it is quite mild and the temp in the growroom is pretty decent :)
The one pic of the one on it's own is the "runt of the litter", also I'm not to keen on some of them showing there yellow bottom leaves at this stage but I think they'll be ok.
Oh and please ignore the foot, I was trying to get under the light, and it's the only pic that turned out ok :o
Also I when I re-potted I ran out of my compost, so rather than go digging around (cold and wet out :o ) I bought some from the garden centre and mixed that in.
Bye for now, take care all ......................... love mand xxx :)

Mand have to thank you for the dedication to this thread. Was very informative and has given me a few ideas for soil grow. I have been growing for a year now but started with Hydro and clones right from the start. I also like the info on germanating seeds another thing am thinking of trying as I have only grown from clones. Keep up the good work and will enjoy reading further news.

JUST KEEPIN IT UP THE BOARDS FOR YOU MAND
Hello Guys :)
You know it's years since I kept a "diary" of any kind, well I used to write too many secrets down and putting secrets into writting is not always the best idea :o
However I have actually missed (well kind off) updating this journal, plus all the updates on all the other grows on here.
Hmmmm "the slippers", you know every Christmas my kids ask me what I want for Christmas (well it saves them having to think of something  ). Anyway for the last few years I have always told them I wouldn't mind a nice shinny new Jeep Cherokee sitting in the driveway on Christmas morning :) . However I don't know why they bother asking me as it's always the same old slippers and bubble bath waiting for me :o
Elfmannbca :) Thankyou love but it's not "dedication", it's just the fact that I talk (or write) too much;)
I have to admit though that I often "pop on" to have a little read, follow the grows and do it little posting if I can, gives me a good excuse to have a sit down with a cup of tea or coffee ................... oh and the occasional stronger drink aswell;)
The grow, well they are still alive, mind you whenever I rang home I always reminded the kids to water them.;)
I forget there exact age without checking this journal but they are a fair bit smaller than at the same age last grow, however that is to be expected due to the time of year.
I know they are still small and I would like to see more vegitive growth on them but I don't think it will be too long before I switch to 12/12.
I'm almost certain I won't pinch them this time.
I'll just add a couple of new pics :)
Thankyou guys, ............................love mand xxx:)

Hello Scobbie, Buk, Thankyou guys :)
I would love to say it's nice to be back but it's freezing here :o
I had a nice time but it was a bit restrictive going with the girls from work, I like to do my own thing ;)
Mind you one night they wanted to go to a real noisey and busy club, so I fained a migraine and told them to go without me. Anyway as soon as they set off I sat out on the villas terrace listening to the waves hitting the shore.
Although when they got back I was fast asleep with an empty bottle of Gin beside me :o
Well I want a quick grow this time so I've been in the shed tonight put them on 12/12 and switched to the HPS bulb.
I prehaps should have given then a little more time on the vegitive grow but I want them out the way for the begining of April so I can start the "Widows" for a Summer grow ;)
Hmmmm it will be intresting to see if they droop this time :o

Hello BkSkillz, Buk :) Tell you what before I switched to 12/12 last night I noticed a little "droop", and now after the first eleven hours of HPS they are definitely "drooping".
Now I know that there is no way it's the bulb doing that after only eleven hours.
Hmmm here we go again "droopiness" ....................... tell you what when ever I say the word "droopy" it reminds me of my ex ;) :)
Anyway guys not to worry I'm sure something will manage to grow and there will be a harvest of sorts at the end :)

I tell you again... I came here... started growing... you also started growing... then, you flowered, finished, and are smoking it. I still haven't flowered.
Now, you've grown yet another crop, and you've started flower (for the second time)... I've yet to flower...

Hello Turtle :)
Trust me he was "droopy" in every possible way ;)
As for the drooping leaves, I am honestly not going to worry, I'll just let them get on with it and see what turns out............. I had enough of all the hassel last time ;)
Plus I may be here but my mind is still on holiday:o
Turtle, please do not worry how long a grow takes love, I just want to get this one finished before spring so I am not expecting anything special out of it, I'm just looking at it to keep the "stash" stocked up ;)

Hello Buk :) How many Days ? ................. Seven.
Any other Hoildays soon ? ................. That depends on the finances, which are looking about as droopy has the plants at the moment :(
Hello Mobay :) I'm not really trying to hard with this lot love, to be honest the "droopy gang" are on their own. I refuse to get my "knickers in a twist" like I did with the last grow, I'm just watering them when needed and leaving them too it ;)
I am just going to continue with the HPS and see what turns out, although I will buy a new bulb for the next grow. Having said that I don't think it is the bulb that is the problem, also it is awfully cold in the growroom, that may not be helping matters in there.
I prefer stress free growing, so this grow really is on it's own;)
By the way Mobay if ever you get the oppurtunity you should try a little outdoor growing ;) , that really is my favourite way, it's just the problem of security that stops me from doing it again.

Good good!:)
It's nice to see you're grow!:)
Looking good by the way!:D
Hello :) , Well I have been trying to post on this thread for hours now but every time I try I keep getting interupted or distracted :o
Hello Scobbie :) The purpose of this section is to talk about growing and I do wellcome that :)
The thing is with growing cannabis is that it's not just something you can just have a "natter" about with just anyone, so I like to make the most of being able to talk about how a grow is going.
Also I'm the same as you I love to see how all the grows on here are coming on, it really is quite fun and it's better than the "telly" ;)
Hello Bonsaiguy :) , yes I saw you're thread and made a little reply too it ;)
I do on the odd occasion venture on to the other sections but to be honest I don't stay for long on them, they kinda make me feel old :o , well I think the average age must be somewhere around sixteen ;)
Ah so you like the traditional British pint of beer :) . I have to say love I'm affraid I've never been a great fan of it, don't get me wrong I like a glass of beer, it just doesn't like me an awful lot I get the most horrendus hangovers with drinking beer :o However give me sprits vodka, whiskey, gin, anything like that and I can drink it "till the cows come home" and never get a hangover (well not much of one ;) )
Oh, if ever you manage to get over here "give me a shout" and I'll give you the guided tour :)
Hello PP :) I know you're mum wasn't to happy about the "leccy bill" but I don't think that will stop you growing now love ;)
I bet you're bitten by the growing bug and already planning you're next crop ;)
It's like that PP, once you start growing it's very difficult not too grow ;)
"Hmmmm an update" .................. Well the droopy gang are looking a bit more "perkier" today but there is still a slight droop to them but I'm not going to get all concerned about it because they are still growing ;)
I'll just add a few pics from earlier today so you can see what I mean :)

Yes I'm affraid to say once you start growing it is very difficult too stop. I really shouldn't be growing this time of year it is just far too cold for them in my shed but I always seem to have a grow going it's what I'm used to doing:o
Hello BkSkillz:) , The guided tour ? ............... of course it does love ;)
Funny you should mention having a drink whilst smoking, I was just thinking last night I seem to have an awful habit of having to have a few vodkas with a smoke, it's like the two just go together so well.
Mind you I suppose we are all allowed our little vices :o
A "sexlife" .......... no sorry you've lost me there, I just can't remember that far back:o
Hello Da1KrayzieThug :) Hmmmm adoption, ok then love but I have aleady promised Rekap ........................... Ah well all these adoptions I guess I'll have to start another growroom up for the extra weed needed ;) :)
An update ....................... well to be honest no matter how many times I write on here or I tell myself I don't care about a few droopy leaves, I have to say that I do care and it does iritate me that it seems to keep happening:(
Anyway I'll post two pics, the first is the dreaded droop  ......... the second is of the only plant that seems to not be drooping, the "runt".
You know the "runt" is such a scrawnny little thing but I really hope that it is a girl, I'm really trying my best for it ;)

Hey Mand,
Youâ??ve got quite a thread going. Been following it for several months now and have been enjoying it. You might need to change the title soon though. ;)
The pictures you posted yesterday look good. I don't see the 'droopiness'. If there is something going on it could be the coolness of the climate in your area for this time of year.
Have you tried different soil mixture? I know youâ??ve been using â??homegrownâ?? compost. You might want experiment with a couple of plants next time using a different mixture.
Take it easy on the runt. I've been surprised on more than one occasion with the small girl in the corner.
We're all rooting for you. Keep it going.
Hello HappySmoke :) You know I have thought of anything and everything of what could be making them droop ?
It really is a fruastrating problem :( I wondered about the cold, but on the last grow it was ok but it was very damp weather and I had really bad condensation in the growroom. However I still do suspect the cold even though other grows have been alright at this time of year.
The compost ?, that is slightly different this time because when I was re-potting them I ran out and the weather was too bad to go riddling some more out so I did mix in some from the garden centre. I always suspect that but not too much.
Now my biggest suspect is the bulb but I know plants don't react like this too a bad bulb. When the bulb is no good they die (fast).
When I joined these boards I had just lost a crop of a couple of weeks old plants because the bulb was "kaput". Well I had been using it for around 6 years:o .
So I bought this bulb then and grew a perfectly average crop, no real problems at all (just a few seeds).
Then on the last grow about a week after inducing and changing the bulb, they went droopy, but "perked up" after I put the MH back in.
Then on this grow they drooped the day after changing the bulb.
Although I kinda think it's the bulb but I still can't believe it is (hope that makes sense:o )
I don't know HS, prehaps I need a less stressfull new "hobby", something like sewing, welding, flower arranging or collecting stamps .................. Hmmm on second thoughts I think I'll stick with growing ;) :)
Oh yes HS, always watch the little unassuming ones ;) . On the grow before last I had three little seedlings (don't know what they were?) and although they only produced a very small amount, it was very potent bud:)
Nice to hear from you HS .......................... love mand xxx:)

Hey mand.. The droopyness, is it that on the end of the leaves??!
Nothing to worry about.. You should know by now!:)
I had droopyness once.. It was from underwatering.. Waterd and BAM!:)
I agree with HappySmoke.. This is not a "little journal" anymore!:p

Hey Mand. You might want to look in to a small, wall mounted propane heater with a built in thermostat. I use one for the coldframe I keep my bonsai's in over the winter. I normally keep it around 35 degrees farenheit to keep the trees dormant, but not freezing, and it can get that area (7x7x12 ft) up to 60 or 70 on the coldest winter days if I need it to. It has a 10,000 btu output and will keep your room at pretty much any temp you want. It's safe for indoor use (as in, no CO problems) and a 20 or 30lb tank would probably last you a long time. It's made by a company called Procomm and I got it at a local shop called Northern Tool and Equipment. You can check out their website for info and see if there's a local dist in your area or a UK equivalent. Will also keep your lovely tush nice and toasty when you're out there doing your chores. And it only cost about $139.00, plus the cost of the tank which was about another $45 for the 30lb. The only downside I can think of is that it might actually raise the humidity in there since water vapor is a byproduct of using propane. Good in my case since we normally have very dry winters here.

Mand,
Do you change the distance of the light fixture when you change from MH to HPS?
I don't use MH anymore, but when I switch from flourescent tubes to HPS I start at about 18 inches with a fan. After about a week I will lower to about 12 to 14 inches.
I do this only because of the different light spectrum between the two. Trying to keep the stress to a minimum.
Sunny in the 60s here. Think I'll go out and enjoy the day.
Hello PP :) Well they did the same thing last time and the general concensus on here was "overwatering" and I had to agree with that because of the bad dampness and the fact that I quite likely had overwatered.
However this time PP, I can honestly say that isn't the problem, the room is dry and I have been carefull with the watering ;)
Hello Buk :) These aren't the "Widows" love, there for the next grow, should be about mid April when I start them.
These are a mix of sensi skunk#1 and sensi skunk, I haven't a clue which is which though because they got all mixed up :o
The last crop ? .......... it's pretty good, quite potent, I would say better than the one before but not the best I've ever grown, that place belongs to a single Afghani plant I grew a few years ago, an absolutely lovely plant and the bud was very very potent :)
Ah, at least you called me a "grow mum" and not a "grow granny" ;)
Tell you what Buk, there is nothing in this world to make you feel older than when you start being called "granny":o
Hello Bonsaiguy :) I used to use a little parafin (kerosine I think you may call it ) heater, but one time I ran out of parafin and finished the grow without any heat. Well I thought if I've done it once then I can do it again and save some money, so I did and I have.
However I really should look into providing a heat source.
I'm affraid our winters are very changable here they can go from being dry and mild one day to rain, frost, ice, snow, sunny, in absolutely any combonation the next day, you really don't know what it is going to do next love.
Hello Da1KrayzieThug :) You know my kids find it so funny when I tell them that there are a couple of young men wanting me to adopt them.
To them I'm just someone who "naggs" to much, they can't believe I was ever young and that some of the things I used to get up to would kinda put them in the shade a bit.
As for you taking over the growing ................... Oh with pleasure love, I'll just put my feet up and gladly leave it up to you :)
Hello HappySmoke :) I'm affraid the light stays where it is, I only move it when the plants start getting too close to it.
However that's how it is with my growing, it's very "rough and ready" also very basic and I don't have any real technical side to it:o
I honestly only know the basics, I once bought a tiny little book (about 50 pages long) called "Grow marujana in cool climates" and that really did become my grow bible ............... it's ever so basic ;)
Hmmmm "sunny and in the 60s", are you trying to make me envious ;) .................. I am, it's really totally freezing here today.
Well I have the house to myself for the next few days (one of my lads is staying at his girlfiends and the other is working away for a while).
It's lovely and quite here :), so I have rolled up three joints (two left now) , I'm going to break the seal on a fresh bottle of vodka and curl up on the sofa in a little while because one of my favourite films is on the telly at midnight "Theatre of Blood" with one of my all time favourite actors in it "Vincent Price" :). ........................... Hmmm it really doesn't get much better than this :)
Oh the plants :o , well there ok-ish, still kinda droopy ;)
Thankyou guys ......................... love mand xxx:)
Hello :) Just a quick update ................ the growth is going slowly due to the cold, if this cold spell continues I'm going to have to see about some heating.
The droopiness is still there, I suspect I won't get rid of it. However I have spotted the first boy, I will give it a day or so just to make sure ;)
As I said there's not much happening but I'll just add a couple of pics:)

Hello Turtle :) I only said I might get one ;)
To be honest love, I really ought too, it's very cold out and when the light is off at night it must be quite chilly in there:o
Oh, and yes I'm itching to get the boys out of there, it's such a shame though as the boys always seem to be the biggest and most healthy of the plants:(
Hello Scobbie :) I'm wrapped up love that's for sure ;) , but it really does seem very cold I just can't warm up even in the house :o
Oh yes were they feed him his poodles in a pie :), I also like the bit when him out of Dads Army (captain Mannering) gets his head cut off whilst he's asleep................:)
I really like anything that has a dark humor about it :o

Yes Yes Im also interested ;).......
Mand your grow is looking great, dont worry about the droopy tips, how i figure it, as long as the smaller leaves arent droopy then you have nothing to worry about. The shade leaves fall of anyways right?
Is there a way to change your thread title? Ive always wondered..

I think she mentiond earlier on, that she only dries them.. lol..
She won't go "Hollywood" by curing them..! lol
Or, am I wrong mand?:)
Hello Buk, SittinStoney, PP :)
The drying is just hanging them up in a dark, dry and ventilated place.
The buds are hung in a wooden shed during summer and they dry in about a week or so, but this time of year it's not too good in there so I dry them in the "pantry". I have an oldish house that still has a pantry and it's a pretty good place to dry them;)
Hmmmmm curing :o ............ well I just tend to put them in a draw in open paper bags for a week or two and that's it. To be honest I never really did understand "curing", and yes the buds my be a little harsh smoke compared to some I have smoked but it never really bothers me.
Anyway after a week or two I just put them into storage jars, tins, tubs, anything I have lying around. I was thinking of freezing some but to be honest I went off that idea;)
As for the resinous leaves and small buds, I put them in a shoe box, chop them up quite finely and force dry them for a few days on top of the ballast thingy. It drys them out easliy but that ends up quite a harsh smoke, but like I said it doesn't really bother me I'm used to it.
I'll just put a pic of drying buds from a couple of grows back ;)
Oh SittinStoney:) , I'm sure they will be ok with the leaves, they are still growing decent looking new growth, albeit slowly because of the tempreture :o

Hello Mand your doing a damn good job what # grow is this for you? you just keep it coming, you make it look so simple. keep up the log so we can see how it's done.
Hello Mobay :) It is simple love ;) .................. well as long has everything goes straight forward, it's when the problems start that's when I get stumped :o
Talking of which, the droop is still there, looks worse today but I am just going to finish this grow off, I maybe might even put the MH back in there and see if that improves matters ;)
However I am going to get a new HPS bulb for the next grow, just incase that is the cause.
How many grows ? ...................... Well I started growing indoors at the end of 98 and I average 2-3 grows a year, I'm not sure exactely maybe 18 - 20
It's a constant thing with me Mobay, I always seem to have a grow going on.
I don't smoke everyday, maybe 2 or 3 times a week but when I do smoke I smoke prehaps more than I should so I do get through it :o
Oh I'll just add two pics the first is the first boy, and the second is "little runty" ............... I feel sure she is a girl ;)

Hello BkSkillz :) , Hello Scobbie :) , Thankyou very much guys;) .......... However I have the feeling that this grow is prehaps going to be even more of a dissapointment than the last one :o
Once again I have swopped the HPS for the MH in an attempt to try and bring some "life" back into the plants, they are just looking far too "limp".
One thing for sure (even though I am still not convinced it is the problem) I will definetely buy a new HPS bulb before starting the "Widows";)
Once again Thankyou for the nice words, they have cheered up quite a dull day for me :)
Hello Bill :) Oh dear Bill I have just looked back and found that I didn't reply to you're last post, I'm really sorry about that love. I do like to reply to people who have taken the trouble and effort to post, I really have no idea how I missed it ............................. Sorry :o
Anyway Bill, I'm glad to hear you are well and I hope that you are settling in to you're new home :) . I just hope that the suspension of you're growing is just a temporary situation ;)
I have to say Bill I just noticed how many veiws there are on this thread, to tell you the truth love I find it quite "scary" :o . I wouldn't mind if I was producing some really great grow with "humungus" harvests, but I'm affraid it just doesn't seem to be happening :o.

Hey mand,
I really like how you seem to come through with reply's for everyone. I think thats one of the things that make your threads really enjoyable. Anyways, i had 2 questions. First of all, is ventillation really needed? ive got a nice, dark dry room with an oscillating fan (not good with spelling when im high) that hits the wall and is not directly on the buds. But it has no venting. Do you think this will be a problem? Also, i have a few different HPS bulbs that all seem to be working fine when i put them in. Do you think although they are the same bulbs and they look as though they are working fine, this could be a reason i have droopy leaf tips? Ide like to see if a new bulb makes a difference.
Thanks for your time
-SS
Hello Latewood :) I was thinking just yesterday about how many of the regular people on here have left since I joined :(
So it really is really lovely to hear from you, Thanks for dropping by love :)
Hello Buk :) , Oh they are tough little "buggers" ;) , but you know what I have noticed, they seem to thrive on neglect.
I always compare them to a car I once owned, I used to have it serviced regularly, all the maintinance was kept up to date, I was always spending money on it, also I was always cleaning it ..................... and yet the dam thing was always breaking down on me :(
However the little old jeep I have now has never been serviced, it never recieve's any maintinace, as for cleaning it might have a bit of soapy water thrown over it once every "blue moon" and yet it just keeps going, never let me down yet ;)
Kinda makes you wonder is the "neglect" policy and just leaving them to their own thing the better way with plants as well ;) :)
Hello SittinStoney :) I'm sure ventilation is important as it is recreating outside conditions for the plants. However the only ventilation mine get are when I open the door for them in Summer :o
I reckon if you can provide them with some ventilation then that is great but if you can't then just carrying on growing, although watchout for the humidity levels in the Summer months ;)
Oh dear the HPS bulbs, well I put mine in when switching to 12/12 and it appears to be working fine, but instant droop started. So Friday night I put the MH back in and after being under it for yesterday (Saturday) they have picked up no end.
I think it means that even though the bulb is not very old and it seems to be working fine, "it's had it's day" and I really have to get a new one, but I'm affraid they are just going to have to flower under the MH till I can afford
one :o
I'll just add a few pics from this morning showing the difference after a day under the MH ;)
Thanks guys ........................ love mand xxx:)

Haha, No i think you misunderstood. My grow room has GREAT venting, its the room that i dry them in that has no venting. I was wondering if that would make a difference on how they dry.
Thanks for your quick reply though,
-SS
Hello SittinStoney :) yes, I totally got the "wrong end of the stick" there :o
A nice dry dark room is fine, ventilation is good but they will still dry without it. Although without ventilation always be vigilant for "budrot", but from what you are describing, you shouldn't have any real worries about that ;)
In summer I dry in a wooden shed in the garden, it's dry, dark and well ventilated, the buds dry quite quickly in there. In the winter I dry them in the pantry (it's an old house), it's dark and dry but cool with no ventilation. They dry fine but it takes several weeks .

PS GROWS LOOKIN REAL FINE MATE
Hello Marc :) I'm affraid it's basking on the beach that has helped make buying a new bulb at this present time even more difficult ;)
For the next couple of months love I'm up to the neck in bills, I have the last instalment on the council tax, the water rates, the telly licence, the car breakdown/recovery renewal, the phone bill, electric and gas bill.......... just to name a few, it's the UK love prehaps one of the most highest cost of living countries in the world :(
I will however make sure that I have a nice brand new HPS blb for the next grow;)
Good to hear from you Marc, I hope you are well :)
Hello Scobbie :) Buxton it's a fair way off, but I have been there a few times when going into the Peak District.
Ok Scobbie, when you get to Castle Donnington Sunday market, there is only one entrance. As soon as you go through the entrance turn to you're left and just follow that row of stalls, at the first corner there is usually a butchers lorry on one side and a stall selling handbags and things on the other, keep going about 30 - 40 yards and on the left hand side is the stall you want. It's just a small stall but you can't miss it, it has Jamaican flags and Bob Marley type stuff hanging up, also there are usually lots of young lads wearing baseball caps looking at the seeds they can't affrord;)
The stall is run by a husband and wife couple, they are really friendly people, although he does seem somewhat "spaced out" most of the time :stoned:
They are always there unless the weather is really bad, also there are usually a couple of other stalls around the market that sell seeds.
A little grow update :) ................... the plants are looking much better under the MH, I am hoping to get a new HPS as soon has I can but if I have to finish this grow under the MH I'm not too worried as the bud reduction is something like about 10%, that's not too bad, I can live with that;)
I'll just add some pics so you can see the improvment ..............

Hello HS:) Well we shall just have too see what happens ;) . Today my youngest bought me a brand spanking new HPS bulb, mind you it won't be for free I'm sure there is some reason for it, I don't know what yet but I have the feeling I'll find out soon ;)
Anyway once the light went out tonight I replaced th MH with the new HPS, so I'm intrested to see what's going too happen:o
Hello PP :) another adoption  .................. Honestly love I may smoke weed and prehaps like the occasional little drink but if you asked my kids they would say I'm just like everyone else's Mum, aways nagging them and getting on to them.
I do it because I think I know what's best for them and because I worry and care about them but I'm affraid they don't see it that way ;)
Hello Scobbie :) ............... whilst you're there if you fancy a bite to eat ignore all the regular hot dog and burger stalls. At the opposite end of the market, there is a stall that does chicken wraps, but they also do a very nice Bombay potato wrap. It comes in a chapati wrap type thing and it's best had with a litte salad and a medium sauce (the red sauce), they cost £3 each but they really are quite nice :)

By the way StickyFinger :) You read the whole thread ............ it does go on a bit doesn't it :o
Hmmm shopping for a ring, well love if you wish to send me a nice diamond one for valentines day it would be gratefully recieved :)
However the plain gold banded type of ring does have a certain effect on me .................. a wedding ring to me has an effect similar that a crucifix has on Dracula ;)
Lovely plant pics by the way Sticky, very nice :)
Buk :) ................... yes I have a telly but I never watch the channels, I only ever use it to watch DVDs on.
I find that the programmes are ethier talentless so called "celebrities" or things such as the news which is just full of wars, murders, disasters, fatal accidents or countries trying to find new and more efficent ways of killing people ............................. very depressing stuff, I do try to avoid.
Yes Buk I know you're near ready for harvest and you have done a super nice job of it as well . As for help of anyone, I feel certain that you would have grown just as well without anyones help at all, you have the entuhsiaism for it, and that's what counts .................... by the way love are you ready for the next grow ;)
Hello dialtone :) I like that bud pic, what fabulous colour those leaves are, I really have never seen any like that before.
Can I ask what they are ? :)
Hello Scobbie :) well send my love to the "missus" love............ you're a real "mate" Scobbie and I really appreciate that :)
Ah Marc :) ............................ hmmmm you have asked the question that is slowly driving me "round the bend".
Their reaction love was what I truely expected ................. they drooped as fast as could be :(
I always had the feeling that it wasn't the HPS bulb being faulty, you see when they are faulty the plants very quickly go yellow then brown and die.
However I had to try a new bulb just to be certain.
I have a theory Marc ;) ................. it's quite a "far fetched" one but it is the only thing it can be.
In the past I have always induced flowering after about ten weeks of vegitive growth and the plants have relished in the light from the HPS.
The last grow I induced at 7 weeks and they drooped, this grow it was about 5 weeks and they have drooped.
I know it sounds daft but I rekcon they are simply just not ready for flowering, so I have tonight put the MH bulb back in and I am going to continue to flower them under that for the next 2 - 3 weeks and then I will try the HPS again.
Maybe they just need some blue light untill they mature a little while longer ................... I told you it was a "far fetched" theory Marc but I know there is nothing else it can be :o
I'm going on the Sherlock Homes kinda thinking here ...................." when you elimminate all the possible causes and are left with an improbable cause, no matter how " soft than arsehole" it is, then that's the one" .......... or something like that anyway love ;)
Thankyou guys .............................. love mand xxx:)
Oh I can't post any pics of them, my camera has gone "walkabout" again :o

Interesting Mand. Not being an expert, but one to think too much on stuff, I think (see...I told ya!), I would put it back into veg, go till 10 weeks if that's what you normally do, then throw the hps in there and flower. It's not like you have to have any additional...stuff...and this would answer whether or not what you suggest is indeed the case. That being that they're too young to handle flowering. We'd all learn something!!
But, all that said, I've always heard/read, that you can take one of these plants and flower way before they become what is considered to me 'mature' i.e. with alternating nodes. If that is true, which it seems it is as many people have grown successful healthy flowers by inducing flowering well before alternating nodes, their age wouldn't be what's causing the droop.
Just a thought Mand. Of course not telling you what to do. Just suggesting a test to see if you can figure out what the drooping is once and for all.
But one more question. In the past, you no doubt had grown during these same times of the season. Did you have droop then? Or did you always go 10 weeks before flowering? I know you said "I have always induced flowering after about ten weeks of vegitive growth" but just asking. Just thinkin'.
Hello Marc :) I'll answer the question first love ;) ........ Apart from the last grow I have never ever had droopy leaves on any grow before.
I have checked the writting on these two HPS bulbs with the orginal one (still on a shelf in the shed) and they are identical.
As for them being too young for flowering, I have never heard of it before and I do doubt it but it's the only thing I can think off to make them react badly to the HPS.
When comparing this and the last grow to previous ones I have ruled out over and under watering, the cold (that is effecting the rate of growth), there not root bound, the compost is fine, nutrients are ok. I cannot see any reason for the droopiness other than the timing of the flowering.
Plus as soon has the MH is put back in there, they seem as happy as anything.
I say I usually flower at about 10 weeks, however that is more a rough estimate rather than a precise figure ;)
As for putting them back into vegitive growing, I won't do that Marc. I want this lot "done and dusted" by April, so what I'm going to do is keep them under the MH for the next 2-3 weeks and then I will try them again on the HPS and see what happens ;)
As for the stock I have finished all the buds from the grow I did when these bulbs were new, although I still have half a shoe box of resinous leaves and small buds from that grow, plus all the buds from the last grow and a shoe box full of resinous leaves and small buds as well :)
At the moment they have picked up again under the MH, I would add a pic but I have still not got my camera back yet :(
Anyway Marc I'm having a little rest from the plants this weekend, after work on Saturday I'm off to spend what's left of the weekend at my brothers. He lives in a lovely little village (I won't say which one ;) ) in Linconshire. lots of lovely countryside albeit very flat there.
Oh and there will be no smoking of the herb, he doesn't approve :(
Bye for now Marc ...................... love mand xxx:)

Yes Buk I know you're near ready for harvest and you have done a super nice job of it as well . As for help of anyone, I feel certain that you would have grown just as well without anyones help at all, you have the entuhsiaism for it, and that's what counts .................... by the way love are you ready for the next grow
Mand no way you already know I was willing to give up the 2nd day and you told me to keep growing that everything will be fine and you were right;)
If it wasnt for you I probably wouldnt have my lovely buds:thumbsup:
By the way I dont think you ever answered me on the whole drying and curing process. I wanted to know your methods:thumbsup:
Hello Buk :) The drying, I answered ..................... honest love ;) , post 373, page 15 :)
Oh I feel sure you would have managed a grow on you're own :) However it really is very handy being able to come on here and see all the different grows and get a few hints and tips of all the different people ;)
Hello Scobbie :) I have my camera back love so I'll just add a couple of pics.
They'll be ok love even if I have to keep the MH on them throughout the whole flowering period .................. hope I don't have to though :o
Well 8 plants left now, just got rid of two boys. Oh by the way this is also turning into the longest time I have known for them to show their gender, only two males so far and no females have shown themselves at all yet.
Prehaps I should say 7 plants and one "little runty" :)

Hey Mand,
I was just wondering if the 'Droop' was interferring with the production of flowers? I was thinking if it doesn't interfere and the fan leaves want to droop let them.
I know you will get better 'Cola' prodution (tighter buds) with the HPS than the MH.
Ah yes, so many opinions, only so many days of flowering. :D
Have a good day Mand

I guess that's why I'd put the hps on 'em and let it run it's course. Flowers do best with that spectrum of light...or so I read. If they did ok with just mh then no one would buy an hps. And ultimately, who cares if the leaves droop a little. If they aren't dying then they're just...droopy leaves. No biggie. And they might possibly come out of it if you just left the hps in there. I don't think you've ever given them a chance to 'adapt'. Just take it out as soon as they droop...put the mh back in and they aren't...put the hps back in and they droop. Proves that when the light is changed to hps from mh that for some reason they're reacting.
What about heat? If it's so cold in your room does the mh put out more heat than the hps? If so maybe they're reacting to a colder environment. MH puts the temp at a point where the plants thrive but the hps puts them below that level? Just a thought.
All that said I'd rather have them go through flowering with the proper light spectrum with droopy leaves (that I must say look way better than a lot of grows I've seen and they produced good flowers) than the wrong spectrum with perky leaves.
Hello :) I hope it's ok if I just do this post as a whole rather than individually, otherwise I could end up just writting the same thing in different ways :o
Yes the temp does vary Scobbie, in the day when the light is on it gets quite pleasant (well pleasant-ish) but when the light is off at night it does get rather chilly in there.
The cold is causing the longest period I have ever known for the plants to show their gender, it's been two weeks today and the only ones I am sure about are the two males I threw out yesterday.
Is the cold causing the droop ? ..................... Well it's not helping but the same thing happened on the last grow and the temps were much higher then.
Also the strains that are growing are my winter growing strains because I have grown them a few times before at this time of year without any problems ;)
As for the MH, oh yes HappySmoke to flower with the MH does mean a reduction in the compactness of the buds. I am thinking along the lines that you and Marc have said "put the HPS in there and let them droop".
The only problem is that when I go in there and see them looking all sad and droopy, I really dislike to see them that way, it really does upset me :(
Anyway guys I have taken a few pics and I'm having a break from the plants this weekend so I am considering just putting the HPS back in there and leaving it there no matter what happens, if they droop badly I'm just going to have to learn to ignore it :o
Thankyou ever so much guys for you're concern, I'll just post some pics so that you can see them yourself and see what you think ;) :)
Thankyou ............................. love mand xxx:)
Oh I'll just add a pic of "little runty" ............... don't know if it is a he or a she yet though ??????

Hello PP :) "Crop tester" .................. well I'm affraid you might have to wait a while love, they are going very very slowly :o
Hello Buk :) that's right no pinching this time. To tell the truth I just wanted a very quick grow, however I think the plants have other ideas in that department :o
As long has I can get the widows started before May, going to need the Summer months for them. I'm going to need quite a while with them as I am planning on giving them a good long vegitive growth period.

Hmmmmm maybe "really upset" was too strong a pharse, prehaps I should have said "really cheesed off";).
As for this grow, am I fed up with it  , It has been nothing but a pain right from the start. You know Marc I really could just chuck the lot of them in the bin at times :o
Never mind Marc you ought to see me when I have a pair of sisscors in my hand .................... I show them no mercy at all :)

Anyway, this "quick grow" doesn't seem to know it's supposed to be a "quickie". However the eight remaining plants have spent a couple of days under the HPS and they seem to be holding up well:)
They are still very slow on showing their gender, over two weeks now and only identified two males.
I'll just add a few pics from today ...................

Personally I still think that I put them on 12/12 too early.
Anyway not to worry, I'm sure they will do something when they are ready :)

"have u had ne success with fruit peels ect.. if so please name some random stuff i can grab at grocery store :) "
Hello Brains :) I just saw you're thread asking about the fruit peels ;)
I'm not sure about just placing them on top of the compost love ?????
What I do is make my own compost, I have a compost heap at the bottom of the garden and basiclly everthing and anything that will "rot down" goes in it........... dead plants form the garden, grass cuttings, horse muck, vegatable peelings from the kitchen and yes sometimes the odd apple core or the little bit of fruit out of the fruit bowl that has seen better days ;)
However I just don't know what effect/difference it would make by placing them on the plant pots would do ????
Tell you what Brains, give it a go and see what happens, I couldn't imagaine it harming anything ..................... although I would be carefull of using citrus fruits as they can be quite acidy.
Good luck Brains if you try it be sure to let us know if it does anything ;)

scratch my last message someone replied to my thread saying ... same thing u basically said mand, I will just stick to wut people knows works... therefore not trying ;p
They will attract fruit flies and other insects, also the acidty in orange peel isn't a good idea.
Probably less of a problem with banana skins but they would still attract insects/fungus.
Best thing to do would be to make a compost heap in the garden/outdoors and chuck your peels in there and let them rot into the compost, untill your left with nice fresh compost that has been broken down properly and contains all the nutrients of the stuff you chucked in
Hope this has helped.
being in a "basement" insects are already a HUGE worry for me... "spider's and random things"
Ah yes Brains I never thought about it attracting the insects and bugs :o
If you do make a compost heap just make sure that it has all rotted down really well before use, that can take quite a while ;)
Oh and get a riddle and give it a good riddling out before use as well, removing all the lumps and larger pieces that get in there ;)
love mand xxx:)
Hello :) , Well one thing is for sure, this grow is definetely not going as planned :o
I'll just add a few pics, the first one is of the latest male to present himself, he was just on his way to the dustbin in that pic.
The second pic is of "little runty", a very strange looking plant that one, mind you to be honest I think all of them look a little odd/different from usual
The last pic is of the remaining seven and still not one female in sight, I'm sure they will make an appearence when their ready ;)
Oh and although there is still some droop present, they seem to be holding up reasonably well under the HPS :)

Hey Mand. I wonder if your plants are drooping because of too large of an area for too many plants? In the last pic you posted it looks like the outer leaves are drooping more than the center. Could be not enough light plus colder temps the further from the center of the bulb they get. Just a thought.
And Happy Valentines Day! I forgot to say that to you. And I had present all wrapped and ready to send but forgot to! Sorry. Oh well. All it was was an all expenses paid trip to anyplace you wanted to go. :D :p
Hello Buk :) there has been a few problems as well just lately :o

Hello Marc :), I was just thinking about you earlier on, I havent seen you on line for ages. I hope everything is ok and all is well :)
You know Marc I have absolutely no idea what is causing the droop ?
When comparing the last grow and this one all the conditions are different, and yet both have developed a droop at around the same time, just after switching to 12/12.
Mind you Marc I'm really not worried at all, there only plants and they'll come right in the end ............... I hope :o
Oh and a Happy Valentines day to you as well love :)

Hello Marc :) just dreamimg love, affraid I can't see a holiday for a while yet ................ too many bills :(
Hmmm the avatar, I keep thinking of changing it back whenever I see it :o
Anyway Marc this grow :( . I'm giving it one more week to do something and if it doesn't I'm binning them all.
There is really something not right about it, personally I think I'm growing a crop of hermies. As of tomorrow they have been on 12/12 for 3 weeks and up to now only 3 males have shown themselves.
I was just having a good look at them this morning and I actually think that most of the plants are showing male characteristics.
Also it has been nothing but a diasater right from the start, only 10 plants out of 16 seeds is not good :( , normally I can expect all the seeds to grow, if I'm unlucky prehaps if one won't.
I know that the lights are fine, the compost is ok, there is no problem with over or under watering, although I do suspect the tempreture maybe affecting them.
I still have 16 of those seeds left, I'm definetely going to throw them away............... infact I can say now I have just binned them ;)
Anyway Marc I'll give them one more week and see then ;) ......... if I throw them away then I'll wait untill April before starting the next crop with the new seeds.
Oh I tell you what though love, I will never ever do a grow journal again, they bring just too much bad luck in the growing department, they simply just tempt fate too much ;)

Heya Mand, wow reading those 5 pages of your journal took a lot of time!
Anyway, Im currently growing a single Lowryder - the other seed didnt germinate - and shes doing rather well, a little slow but shes only under a 25 flouro that was used in a fish tank (also on the windowsill on sunny days).
Anyway, I see that youre using a 400 HPS for most of the grow - Im just wondering how much heat that gives off? Because Ive gone and ordered a 600w HPS, and my grow space is only 2ftx2ft, and about 5ft high! Hehe, for one plant - talk about overkill or what! Never mind, I plan on buying a pack of Lowryder seeds after this - not too potent, not too weak, just perfect in my opinion :)
So will the heat be a big issue for me? Or will it be manageable if I leave the closet door open (yes, my parents know that Im growing! They threaten to throw it in the bin though when I dont clean up :( )
Edit: I dont want to intrude on your journal, but heres a pic of Fiona at day 17. What do you think of her? And the reason she bent over slightly is because I left her on the windowsill as it was getting dark and forgot about her :o
Do you remember how big yours were at day 17 compared to Fiona?

Hey when I saw your new avatar it reminded me of this person. Her name is Chiana on the sci fi show Farscape and I've always found her to be pretty...sexy. Kinda crazy. Sort of mysterious. You sure you're not an actress? ;)

hello Mand , pick those spirts up and show these young newbies how its done. your only giving them 25-50% of your time. Newbies just imagine if she gave 100%.
Hello Swizzy:) Yes they give off quite a bit of heat, so a 600 watt HPS in a enclosed space might cause tempreture problems.
Tell you what love check out the begining of Buks grow thread because he had a few problems with the temp, ................. and yes I think that you might be leaving the door open a bit.
Although don't worry, just have the door open and a fan on it if things get too warm and I'm sure everything will be fine :)
By the way Swizzy Fiona looks really very nice :), I'll try and dig out some pics of some of mine at that age and post them later if that's ok ;)
Hello Scobbie :) Hmmmm a bit "droopy" well to be honest I could never cure my ex of that problem but thankfully there aren't to many guys like him around ....................... I'll explain it one day love and you'll see what I mean about him being "incurable" ;)
Oh that poor squirrel :( .................. I have to say love I really like squirrels and quite often put some nuts out in the garden for them. Also I know it really "winds the neighbours up", for some reason most of them really dislike squirrels.
I am pleased everything ended alright and there wasn't any injuries or fires
Hello Marc :) Someone once said to me that "grandchildren are our reward for parenting", you know love I do so agree with that statement :)
For some reason I think the baby will be a girl this time, my daughter and I have already picked out a name "Madeline" :)
But Marc love, I do believe that most women have to be an actress sometimes in their lives ..................... well it keeps the guys happy and makes them believe their doing something right :o
Hmmm yes I remember the girl in Farscape, I'll tell you why I used to watch that........................ it used to be on at tea time when me and the kids used to sit down for dinner and kids being kids, they had to have the telly on whist they ate  ............................ Thanks love :)
Hello Mobay :) How are you love, I havent seen you on here for a while ?
Oh dear Mobay I'm affraid that this grow has had "complications" :(
I'll post ethier later tonight or tomorrow and tell you the full story as I am a little short for time at the moment .................... if that's ok :)

Rekap!!! Long time no see!:) Welcome back from the dark:p
And mand, congrats on the granny thing!:D
Hello Rekap :) It's really very nice to hear from you love ;)
Now here's the question are you doing another grow yet ? ............... and if not, then you should you made a superb job of you're first grow :)
Hello PP :) and thankyou very much love :)
Well I'm affraid the grow has been abandoned (is that how you spell abandoned :o ).
I know I was threatening to call it a day with them but something ocurred and I thought for safety's sake I had best call it a day with the grow.
I'll try and keep it brief ..................... the other day I had just pulled up onto my driveway and when I got out of the car a dog came running at me growling. The dog belongs to a man who lives not too far away.
Anyway the man is well known around the area for being a "bit funny", so I asked him to get his dog up as I didn't want biting.
I asked him in a reasonable way, but for whatever reason he just looked at me and said "somebody should shut you f****** up". At that moment my sons pulled up and the man started to scuttle away taking his dog with him.
My sons asked me what was wrong, I think it was obvious that I was slightly "shook up" and also angry at the same time. So I told them and they went after the man, I shouted at them to leave it but they were pretty p***** off.
Well to cut along story short they never touched him but lets just say they gave him a dammed good scare.
Well a little while later they told me they saw a police car at the mans house so I knew where they were coming next so I thought to be on the safe side I had best get rid of the plants before they got here. So I quickly cut them down, put them in a bin bag and shoved them under rubbish in the dustbin, whilst my sons took down the grow lamp and put it into another shed for storage.
As we expected the police came and told us the man had made alsorts of allegations against my sons, we them told them what had really happened and I am hoping that is the end of the matter.
I know I was talking of abandoning this grow but this incident really did force my hand:(
However not to worry, I'm having a little break from growing and will start a new one around April time, also I have decided to move growrooms for the summer grow into a larger and more ventilated growroom ;)
I'm affraid this wasn't the outcome I expected but that's how it goes ;)
Thankyou very much to everyone who has posted and veiwed this thread....................I've really quite enjoyed it :) ;)
love Mand xxx:)
Oh Swizzy you asked for pics at 17 days, I'm affraid I can only find pics at 3 weeks from the last grow, which is pretty close I suppose :o

Shame about the grow Mand, but its just the safety side of it I suppose.
Thanks for showing me the pics at 3 weeks - mine is about that size (bit taller due to stretching at first), so its good to know that Im on the right track!

mand ,thats a cunt , fuckin neighbours man the cunt was ok to disrespect you when you were your self but as soon as your sons appear the tail goes between the legs , fuckin pussy, sorry about the language but that kind of shit pisses me off, you remember your sons to steer clear as this muppet will jail them but also remember pal you have freinds on here and if things get to bad help is on hand from here as you know so you take time out mate and regarge those batteries and we will be waiting patiently for your next grow and if i had your email i would send you some pics of my scrog its lookin reaLl good but dont have time for a thread as my garage is taking up all my time just now we are struggling lol but you keep posting pal and dont forget you got freinds fae up here that care so take care mate . scobbie P.Y.T
PS tell your sons well done:clap:
Hello Swizzy :) I thought best to be safe ;)
To be honest there was absolutely no reason for them to go walking down the garden at all but I just didn't like having the police at the house, and with having a grow there just made me a "proper bag of nerves" :o
As for "Fiona", she looks fine :), healthy and no problems at all ;)
Hello Scobbie :) You're a real gentleman love ........... Thankyou :)
Oh and don't worry about the swearing, I have my moments from time to time :o
Yes I've warned my sons to just stay clear of him as well.
I'm affraid the guy is just one of those people who is what you could call antisocial. Everyone in the area knows what he's like and it's not the first time he has given out abuse to someone. Not to worry though love, I have two sons and there are quite a few "big strapping" lads in the family ;)
Oh I also have two big nasty looking Boxer dogs, well they may be nasty looking but they are as soft as they come, but other people don't know that.
I don't think he will bother me again ;)
Anyway Scobbie, I'm going to wait untill the weather is a little better before I start the next grow. I'm going to try another growroom next time, it has a lot more room and it's well ventilated. I will need the extra room as I intend to let the next ones grow a lot longer on the vegitive growth.
Thanks love :)

WHAT?!
Mand, what your sons did, that was "too good" for what I would have done... I would have kicked the living shit out of that guy.
(I like it that even when Mand is mad, she still behaves like a English Lady and "censors" with *'s the bad words ;) )
Mand, you let us know... BukDatAss, pPuff, BkSkills, me, Marc Benson, etc. All of us, we go over to your place, and make the guy "understand"... Tony Soprano-style
:) Peace Mand. As to the plants, you did the best... it's better to be safe than sorry. But you already knew that ;)
Argghhh... next time, let's stuff the plants and stuff into the old guys house! Then we call the police on him... hehehehe....
Ok, enough ramblings for now...
Best Mand, happy to know you're ok,
-turtle420
.
BTW: I haven't updated my thread, but I've got roots!!!! Foggy roots! :)
Hello Turtle :) Not to worry love, the guy was told that his manners were not acceptable ;)
Although if the plants had been "good ones" I think I may have just risked the vist from the police, but I didn't think it worth the risk of being caught out with them.
Anyway love I'm having a really easy day today (no work), and I have just found the most dissgusting video on the net I have ever seen. I was thinking about putting it on a thread but I'm not to sure :o
One thing I'm pretty sure about is that it would have ever guy on these boards "squirming" ;)
Thankyou Turtle ....................... love mand xxx:)

It always pisses me the hell off when some guy picks a fight with a woman especially over some dumb crap. Mand I cant wait for your next grow I just hope you dont leave these boards cause you are 1 in a billion.:) Mand check out my thread by the way(u always do,thanx) I'm almost done with the grow... Thanx MOM u crossed me to the finish line:thumbsup:
Hello Scobbie :) Looks a very nice set up ;) , maybe a little bit too technical for me though :o
Well I'm just waiting for Spring to arrive before I can start the next lot. I'm going to move growrooms but I can't do it untill the weather warms up because the out building I'm going to use is far to cold at the moment (it's a much larger area).
Hello Buk :) , Isn't always the case that there is never any need to look for trouble because it will always find you :(
I just had the police here again wanting to speak to my sons again. I'll tell you what love if they get into any trouble then I will be very angry and that idiot who started all of this will see a side of me that hasn't been seen for many years.
Oh dear Buk, I seem to be doing a grow thread with no grow, ah well that really is typical of me, I'm always going off on different tangents :o
Me leave the boards............... perish the thought love ;) , I mean where else could I air my problems and woes :o
Thanks guys ......................... love mand xxx:)

Sorry Buk :o , I just couldn't help it. I could actually feel the saddness in you're words and I know I shouldn't but I couldn't stop laughing :)
I once did a thread about how attached the guys on here are to their plants................. I just find it ever so funny ............. oops sorry Buk don't worry you'll get over them ;) .
I can just picture you with a tear in you're eye as you are hacking away at them. Tell you what Buk, do you watch the Simpsons. Well in one episode Homer buys a live lobster and he then spends all his time caring for it, fattening it up, and giving it everything it needs, he becomes really attached to it.
Well in the end he has to cook it and eat it, but whilst he's eating he is sobbing his heart out ................. but it still doesn't stop him eating it ;)
Everytime I see that episode, it reminds me of the typical cannabis grower ;)

Geez Mand...sorry to hear about your troubles but you probably did the right thing. Better to cover your tush than let some bozo get the upper hand. Best of luck with the next effort. I'm still trying to figure out how to set up something here without the wife and kids and cops and neighbors getting wise.
Take care hon.
Hello Buk :) if you ever see the episode you'll know what I mean ;)
I always end up watching the Simpsons because it's on at teatime and even though their grown up my sons still have to have the telly on whilst they are eating ............................. Kids
Hello AS :) You know love I have always had "pain in the arse" neighbours, I don't know maybe it's me or something ????
I'll probably end up doing something about the next grow although it isn't going to be for a while yet. Hmmm the growroom :o well I'm affraid it's nothing to look at really, it's just a garage :o
Hello Bonsai :) Oh yes love I know now I did the best thing getting rid of them, as the police may have to come again. Nothing to worry about though my sons are in the clear, but it has apparently been found out that this guy has been secretly filming people, not just me but others in the area as well :(
I have no idea what is going to happen about it but I really find this seriously freaky.
You know love I really don't like the thought of someone hiding behind their curtains filming me going about my business and I have no idea what is going to happen about it.
Just goes to show you love that you never know what is going off in the warped minds of people who live near you.
Anyway love never mind it takes more than the odd weirdo to get me down :) .................... he may just find out he's bitten off more than he can chew;)

Why hello there Mand, its ridiculous now... that guy is FILMING THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND NEIGHBORS... i cant be sure there are laws against that in the UK, but in the USA that mans "arse" is either shot or in jail... :( Perhaps a ping pong ball full of drano should fall into his gas tank... (if you haven't an idea of what that does... have one of your sons give it a try... note: run REALLY fast after..) :D Or perhaps i have smoked too much and taken this too far... Either way the man is a nutcase... and he needs to find a random blunt and hit it... :)

Hello Buk :) What and no tears, I'm very proud of you love, I knew you could do it ;)
Hello britewire :) Thankyou love, lets just hope that things will go better next time. I'm going to try and revert back to how I used to grow them, giving them a lot longer on the vegitive growth and letting them grow to a greater height before inducing ;)
Hello Scoobie (mate;) ) :) ........... Scobbie I keep seeing "lmfao", but I havent a clue what it means, can you tell me ? :o
Hello AS :) , You know love I really can't see what the law can do about him.
The thing is I don't think that he has done anything to be charged with, all he was actually doing is something that the authorities do all the time.................filming people.
The last few years the present government as become "obsessed" with putting up cameras absolutely every in an attempt to control the population, I really do believe that the UK as become a "Big Brother State".
We have cameras watching us absolutely everywhere, in all the towns and cities, at traffic lights, in pubs and shops, and I must not forget all the thousands of those awful speed cameras :( . We are told it is for our safety and to stop crime but I don't believe that for a minuite
The main purposes seem to be for keeping an eye on what people are doing, with the speed cameras they seem to be a form of collecting more money for the government, and I musn't forget that an awful lot of the footage they film seems to end up on the telly as entertament for all the reality programmes.
The law actually does not seem to care about protecting the private individual at all. However if a person decides to protect themselves against the weirdos and sicko's in society then the law is very quick to take them to court for taking the law into their own hands.
It's very unfair but that's how the system seems to be over here :(
Anyway AS, I've never worried too much about what the law says and at least we are aware of the chaps little habits now ;)

Yea mand your right about what you told me:o .. I really want to start another grow NOW:p !!!! but I cant just yet I ordered seeds yesterday so I should get them in about a 2 weeks. I couldnt get those seeds from the Poll I posted before, because lots of people talked bad about them so I didnt want to take the risk:o ... Instead I'm going to grow White Rhino and AK48 from Nirvana:dance: ...Before OG was shut down I was checking the reviews and both strains got REALLY GOOD results so I should be happy. I hope the grows get easier from here on...
Hello Buk :) you know I really should just post now and let this thread die a natural death :o
Anyway love, that's really how it is once you start growing, during the short periods I am not growing I often find myself thinking about going into the growroom .................... but then I remember that there is nothing in there :o
At the moment it's just a case of waiting untill the weather gets better and then I'm going to kinda "revert" on the growing. I'm going to use a room that I haven't used for a few years, it has plenty of space and ventilation. Also I intend to grow more like I used to by letting them really go under the vegitive growth before inducing flowering;) It's going to be the ten "Widows" and maybe I will throw a couple of skunk plants in there for good measure ;)

Hi ya Mand,
Just dropped in to say hello. how is your latest grow doing ? All is well here, been working and keeping my head above water. Hope all is well and ur doing fine
peace
Bill
Hello Buk :) Nothing to worry about love, just having a little break due to all the unwanted attention from the run in with the local "village idiot" ;)
I will be starting up again in the near future, just simply waiting for the weather to pick up as the growroom I am using next is just simply far too big to try and keep warm this time of year.
It really has been very cold here this last couple of weeks, a constant breeze coming from the North, kinda makes me feel like another little hoilday is needed to warm me up a bit .......................... however due to the state of my finances, I'm affraid it just isn't going to happen :o
Hello Bill :) Lovely to hear from you love :) ................. I've put a little post on you're thread ;)

Hey mand, if you don't mind me asking, which end of UK are you in? I know what you mean about the cameras, it seems to get worse as you go down south. although in my lovely little town up north, cameras seem to be popping up everywhere :( I live in the lake district, and everyone is so easy going, i wouldn't of expected it here :(
Hello Joe :) Errrggghhh where am I from ................ in this present climate on here
I'll just say it's in the middle love ;) ................ but yes they seem to be putting up more and more camera's all the time :(
I mean I don't drive fast at all, infact everyone comments on how slow I drive but even I seem to spend more time looking at the speedo trying to keep it under 30MPH than I do looking where I am going :o
I have to say though Joe it makes you wonder what the purpose of all the cameras are, is it safety or is it just another easy way of the goverment boosting there revenue ................. kinda a speeding tax if you like ;)
I think that even in the Lake District (lovely part of the country ;)) you will find that they will even spread up there :(
Tell you what love I was reading a little while ago about a guy who goes aroung dressed in a superman type outfit and his little hobby is to take a power saw thingy to the dammed things :) ....................... a total eccentric but a real hero to lots of people ;)

Mand so what do you do again to store away the buds for a long period of time? and is the quality still the same?
Hello Buk :) They are in plastic tubs and tins, stored in a cool/even tempretured and dry place ;)
I was considering freezing them at one point but some people were for the idea and others were against it, anyway in the end I decided not to bother.
I think it's very widely accepted though that storage should be in a dark place as the light will degrade the THC value over a period of time.
As for storing them for a lengthy period, well I don't smoke evreyday, maybe twice or sometimes three times a week but when I do smoke I smoke a quite considerable amount :o ................... so I'm affraid long term storage has never been to much of a problem for me :o
So Buk, the best way seems to be in the dark and an even tempreture, if you do try to freeze them make sure that they are totally dried out and also wrap them up very very well (several layers of wrapping) before putting them in the freezer ;)

will do mand thanks... So whats up lately? I mean it seems like you have more time now not having to worry about growing with plants for now
Hello Buk :) , how are you ? :)
Oh dear a bit of relaxing time would be nice, but I have so many bills this time of year I've had to put a few more hours in at work :(
I just had the yearly water bill £280 and the car breakdown cover £112, and that's on top of everything else.
Also the Vodka situation is running critcal  ................ I really need to get some cash together for a little "booze cruise" trip to France ;)
The weed situation is ok but could be better, I have plenty of forced dried resinous leaves and buds, but not to many nice buds left, so I'm just waiting for the weather to pick up before I can start the next grow.
Anyway Buk, enough of my little woes, it's good to hear from you love :)

Wow Mand, I feel your pain. Should be better but, at least, its not worse dear.
You do have some weed and vodka left. Small victories, right?;) No liquor (nothing like jamaican rum) or weed here, except for my babies which have ways to grow. Oh well, it'll get better.
