I have travelled to Jamaica 7 times in the past 10 yrs. There may be "wild" ganja flurishing in the mountians, but the locals take their growing VERY seriously. Many of them use only organic fertilizers (bat guano being the most popular). The seeds they use are the SAME strains smoked in Amsterdam (Super Skunk, White Widow, Haze, Etc) Most of the ganja in Jamaica is Indica.

On my trips, I usually buy numerous $20 bags (1/8-1/4oz). Each bag is usually a different strain. - A virtual Ganja Buffet !! I can identify a couple favorites, but they are all usually really good. ALWAYS fresh and sticky.

You dont need to find ganja in Jamaica, it will find you. Literally 10 minutes off the plane, somebody will offer to sell you herb. Vendors will pester you to the point of annoyance. DONT buy at the airport, despite how tempting it may seem. I suggest NOT buying from 'hustlers.' Instead purchase from an 'established' Jamaican. I mean somebody with a job (Shuttle driver, taxi driver, bellboy, groundskeeper).
If you know what quality you are seeking, you will find it. If your vendor's smoke seems questionable, dont buy it. He will return shortly with better,...or the next vendor will have what you are looking for.

Marijuana is still illegal in Jamaica. Just smoke it in your room, not in public (beach),....and all will be good.

Be careful what you buy off the streets in the Caribbean. Some of those people make a living selling shit in tourist traps. Ask as many questions about the bud as you can think of. Also ask to see and smell. This will throw the majority of the scammers off.

I went on a cruise down that way a while back and a lot of my "peers" were easily taken for the yuppies they are deep down inside. Don't let this happen to you.

Im sort of an old timer from the 60's, but, does anyone remember a super trip weed called "COLLITIS" in my time the ''T" content was 40+ percent! Today I here people talk about , "wow man" I smoked some joints that kicked my ass!and there telling me how they did this or did that.Suck weed if you can smoke a whole joint and still be functional.Three super hits and hold, and you became non-functional; fast!!! When we partied we had to lock the doors and pray no one would knock on the door!You laid back and watch the room warp, and when you tried to talk, you sounded like you were in a tunnel Heavy visual/auditory distortion.
