daily Wattage suspicious?

Hey guys I'm starting my first Plant this week and I was recently at a store buying my Soil and other shit. When i went to buy a vacation timer for my hydroponic light. this guy told me to watch the daily wattage because it could bring up suspicion from the power company and to investigate my house Maybe?
Is this true? on a single 20 Watt flourescent Bulb running at 18 hours a day?

not for a 20watt bulb you wont raise any suspicion, it uses less power than a regular bulb, how could it raise any alarms?

you already run tons more than that in your house, unless you're a hermit, it'd be a 1% increase, maybe 2

a 300watt increase (5 lights) showed up nearly anything on my bill...

Unless you got more than 2 HIDs lightings you dont have to worry...! floros will consume same or less than a regular bulb...! Floros are economical so thats why we use them for Veg Phase of Growth.
