resin out of a pipe

Now for starters before you read more, I dont want kiddies in here answering to this question like what this board is mostly full of. I want someone to answer that really knows what they are talking about.


I want to know if resin from marijuana that you get from a pipe, is MORE cancerous then just smoking buds or leaves from the plant?

another thing when I have scrapped the resin out and leave it in a bag, it goes dry. Does that mean it looses some THC when it drys out like that?

It does less damage, it took me 2 seconds to come up with a theory why.


It takes alot of hits to resinate your pipe yknow and very little on whats in the smoke actually sticks to the inside of the pipe, So think about how much "resin" gets into you lungs! (Think about color and thinkness of smoke that went into your lungs and the color and density of it as it comes out.)

So think about it mathmatically theres only so much "bad shit" in the resin. but theres more in the fresh bud, so smoking resin (as long as it take less resin (by mass) than weed) will not damage your lungs more than regular weed, it will probably do LESS!

Its just the whole relationshit of THC to "other junk" and im fairly sure its less other junk in the resin (because you said it gets you higher than the actual weed you have.

Yes, it usualy gets you more fucked up, we're not arguing with that point. But think about it this way... Resin is all the shit that's left over from the bud. It's dark in color and all it is leftovers from the bud you've smoked... and the leftovers from the buds would be much worse for you. It's the shit you didn't smoke the first time, the last and worse part of the weed, so when you hold it in longer, of course it's going to fuck you up more... but a personal opinion? I'd say that it's quite a bit worse for you. (considering tar that starts to cover up your lungs when you smoke cigs is black, and resin is a dark brown/black color.... it just seems like all the leftover shit in your pipe... i'd much rather smoke a nice light green plant with red hairs and covered with trichromes... cause thc crystals are the shit.)

thanks for that reply mate, I was thinking sort of the same. But I like to hear other peoples opinions to make sure. Yeah I was thinking its all the degenerated crap left over so it cant be too good for you its black like tar. So when that blackish tar stuff comes up in smoke, I would hate to know what it drops in your lungs

no prob replying to ya man :). Yeah... I hate to wonder what resin does to your lungs... and yet... when you're all outta herbs sometimes it's all you can smoke to get high... lol, either way... I smoke the res strictly on the fact that, what the hell, i smoke cigs... so it's probably not much of a difference. If I ever see a picture of the tar on my lungs... I'd probably change my mind, lol.

Well its just double burning the same stuff, ask someone if there is more tar , soot and carcinogens in a material that has already been burnt once. I think there would be less the second time because is a very small part of the weed and so alot of other shit was taken out first but whatever, im probabaly not making any sense.

haha yeah and that picture of my resin ball, is all the most sticky shit of it all. I chuck the dry ashy shit out and keep the really sticky part of it all to join it in a ball haha. I have no problems with having a shortage of weed. But Iam just going keep saving it up and make the ball grow bigger haha

Yes, it's double burning the shit, but it's burning all of the material that didn't burn all the way the first time... the left over shit that you didn't have to suffer through smoking the first time. Resin usually tastes like shit... and it's pretty easy to tell that it's the last shit to be burned up, thus usually being the worst part of the smoke. :D

resin in your pipe is the shit that didnt make it to your lungs in the first place. That lovely thick gooey tar thats left over is probably safer left in your bowl! On the other hand, smoking it does give a kind of buzz that some find appealing but smoking resin is like smoking old cigarette filters, all the junk is there for your smoking pleasure. Just look at it, it is what it is. We store it in Tupperware and when we have no pot, my old man is a resin toker. The smell grosses me the fuck out! The tupperware will keep your resin moist so you dont end up with rabbit pellets though. didnt answer your question though did I ? sorry
