I would like to know what the hell you're talking about there france. I and many other people I know have personally donated money towards the Red Cross in support of Hurricane Katrina. If you were to be located over here in America you would see that President Bush has truly "fucked" his people, the US has done the complete oposite in helping them.

You say that when the Tsunami arose the whole world came in as a support, and was litterally the backbone for their whole survival. What has france done for the people of New Orleans except bitch about it all?? The US as a country is strong. Get back to me on that one.

From what i see on the news over here i come to the conclusion that bush is a fuckwit and is fucking over the victims of katrina, its nice to see the "joe average" american getting in there to help victims and puting a roof over afew heads, but all up considering the wealth of america and lack of help i think most yanks should be hanging there heads in shame

I wouldn't personally blame Bush for the problems in New Orleans right now. There are a lot of people at fault. Last hurricane season, it was mentioned a lot in the news that if a hurricane of significant strength ever hit that region of the country, New Orleans would be completely destroyed. The local government for that area, as well as the federal government, ignored this concern. When it finally happened, there was no plan in place, and as a result, this situation resulted.

There are government officials that have said that have said that they don't understand why more people didn't evacuate the city when a mandatory evacuation warning was issued before the storm. In reality, 27% of the people in the city live below the poverty line, and had no means of evacuating. No money + no car = no evacuation. And it is even more of a reality that the majority of these people are black.

Being a black American myself, I won't go as far as to say that our government ignores or hates black people and poor people (unlike black "celebrities" such as Kanye West and Jesse Jackson). The mayor of New Orleans is African-American, and it would be just as reasonable to blame his lack of planning for this hurricane, when it was well known that this disaster was a very real possibility.

I am appauled with the fact that we can bomb the shit out of Afghanistan and Iraq and fly in there and drop meals to their citizens, but we can't get sandwiches and a few bottles of water to hurricane survivors in our own country for 4 or 5 days. I do blame the government for the extremely slow and poor response to this disaster. But I will not say that George Bush is letting them starve because he doesn't care about blacks and the less fortunate. I live in Los Angeles now, and a huge earthquake could hit this city at any moment and leave us without food, water, and power. I just hope that we learn from this and that we are much better prepared for this scenario than we were in New Orleans.

Although the leaders of this country look like morons right now, I will say that I am prouder than ever to be an American because of the way our citizens are pulling together to help when our leaders have not. Yes, the government here is pretty fucked up in a lot of ways, but don't let that make you think all Americans are bad. 300 million people can't just leave and go somewhere else just because half of them didn't vote for the current president and don't agree with the war. And just like the entire world pulled together to help tsunami victims, it's great to see that the rest of the world is doing the same for New Orleans.

Im not a big fan of current "french politics". The magnitude of the devistation in New Orleans is beyond what any of us has ever seen. I can understand a day to get prepared but to leave those people stranted like that for almost a week in the richest country in the world was just horrific. We can get food and medical supplies to third world countries in less time than it took for us to help our own people. Something is seriously wrong. Even Castro offered to send help...and what did Bush do....just ignored him. In a disaster it doesnt matter where the help comes from as long as it COMES. God help us in the event of a nuclear disaster. We couldnt even help a flooded city. So all those billions of dollars we spent on being prepeared....seems like its wasted. Last but not least...while I Dont condone the looting...Imagine if you will that for days on end....NOBODY is comming to your aid. You your family your friends all starving and dehydrating while I am not a criminal I would have broken into wallmart and taken some clothes and some fruits and whatever I could to drink. In a situation like that its about survival. If Hitler didn't have that eastern front to worry about, he very well may have captured the British Isles. He already had captured some of them. lol You can't drive five minutes around here without seeing an old German bunker from the occupation. Yeah, alot of these so called poor people doing all of this looting seems kinda bad to me, especially since some of the poor homeless people managaed to leave New Orleans in time with no money. In general, America acted very well in this, all the people down there say they are living upon their fellow man, the ones who can help, they go around with supplies, they say people are from as far as Oklahoma, they are the ones who should be judged, not the President's lack of physically removing the residents.
