Ok, I'm no scientist, but seeing all the reports on CNN got me thinking about this flood. Now, yes, the current state of New Orleans is disasterous alone, but think of what may come from it. Now yes, there has been the discussion of a possible molaria break out due to the large mass of sitting water (I lived in New Orleans until I was 10, mosquitos bred like crazy in water filled pots in my backyard) But I'm worried about much more then molaria. I mean think about it...You've basically got a bowl, filled with hot, polluted water, that is in turn filled with bodies, animals, rotting food, sewage, etc. Mabye this is just me and my paranoid ways, But I definitely see the possibility of there being many more deaths then there are so far. Molaria, Heat Stroke, not to mention the undocumented diseases that may conjeal in this big bowl of chaos... I'm beggining to think that the entire american population will suffer for bush's inability to make the CORRECT descision... HE is the one who said fuck the plan's for New Orlean's levee construction/improvement and blew all the money in his budget for iraq... WHAT THE FUCK  I have family with nothing more then a couple hundred dollars and a cheap hotel room to their name that had to leave the only place they'd ever new.. AND ALL FOR DUMB FUCKING BUSH... I'm sorry this is turning kinda personal so I'll end it. I'm just so scared/pissed/astonished with what has happened over the past week.. does anyone feel the same about my theory about the diseases and stuff though???

I agree with your concerns in regards to the filthy water. They said it will take 30+ days to drain some parts of the city. Other parts, it will take at least 80 days to get rid of all of the water. Dead bodies and sewage in still water for 80 days will get very, very nasty.

When I first heard this, "shoot to kill" policy, I have seen a civil war playing in my mind. Only a matter of time...

What disgusts me the most is the way people are treating one another. You should be helping your fellow person during this time, yet they feel the need to steal TV's, rape and kill people.

And blaming Bush for this event is just perposturous. This was a natural disaster, not his fault. Yes, maybe some construction should have happened with N.O's low level city, but what are you gonna do, raise the whole city up? No, this was nature. The only person to blame is mother nature and God...because God hates us, this is how he is repaying us from years of embarrasment of humankind.

Yes, and although I strongly agree with you, I still believe as a president he should have put the countries money into better use, after all, we are paying for this, and in more then one way. But true, in the end nature is to blame... what can I say mabye I just don't like Bush :D

the sooner the better if you ask me....there are too many people in this world....and there are more coming in by the minute....its over populated now but its going to get worse......much worse.....and there isnt really anything we can do about it....but that is my feelings on brewing death....im just going to go and hide somwhere and chill....help the people that help themselves...

It doesn't matter if the world gets overpopulated. Because the more people per given area, the more deaths there are in disasters like hurricanes. As often as natural disasters, there will be massive deaths in the future. But it's to expect with so many people in a concentrated area.

yeah thats true...and then people are going to be like....omg its sooo many more people than the last disarster we have to help....and we will have to help more people even though we cant/wont help the amount of people already here!

my post might of been a bit off topic but i just felt like talking/typing my thoughts :)

hope you dont mind :)

and i think it does matter if the world is overpopulated because untill these disasters.........but then again the amount of people is going to speed up global warming and more disasters will occur....and there is sweet f a we can do....

Our teacher is really cool. Hes donating our money plus 33% of what our money was. S for example if we had 100$ collecteed he would give 33$ more wich will be 133.
Last disaster His 6 classes collecded 2000$ in 2 weeks and he donated 600$ of his pay check(33% of 2000$)

That is exactly what has me worried. The direct effects of this hurricane may not have hit us in Texas, but we will be taking in ~50,000-75,000 people who will have no where to go home to. With a massive influx of people, it brings new diseases that we are unprepared for. N.O. will probably be a cesspool for at least a few months, until the gov't can get their act together and actually ORGANIZE something. We thought the West Nile disease was bad? Wait until the mutated mosquito's in N.O. start following the population exodus. Bodies need to be buried and QUICKLY before we have another plague.
