I am kinda of confused about F1's. If I breed pollinate a F1 female from a F1 male, will I get good seeds (These would be F2's right? Something about breeding back to the original parent, true breed. Kinda confused about this? I am assuming the CLONES would be great! What I need is a quick lesson on F1's

I wouldn't waste my time on them. Get a nice "stable" ,"back-crossed" f1 strain from a reputable seedbank. What many seedbanks today call f1's are actually f2's and show anywhere from 2 to 4, or more phenotypes in any given grouping.

Personally I like getting different pheno's sometimes.
You can end up with a much better pheno and then guess what, you got your own strain.

OK, I was a biology major the first time around in college. Your question is "would an F2 be good smoke?" Most likely the answer would be yes. To make it simple- 1/4 will resemble the parents (P1 & P2) of the F1, 1/2 will be like the F1 and 1/4 will be lesser quality. It's worth the effort. You have 3 chances out of 4 of getting good bud. It's really a lot more complicated since several genes are involved, but since the genes are mostly good ones, you have a good chance for some "killer bud".

Ok, still kinda confused. I was gonna order some seeds that say F1 at peakseeds.com, now I am sure they will grow some killer bud (hopefully). I was reading in Indoor Marijuana
Horticulture by Jorge Cervantes and it said this: "F1 hybrids purchases from a reputable seed company must be bred back to true parents before they can be used as reliable uniform breeding stock". This kinda confused me, because I dont have the the true parents. So if I pollinate a female to make seeds, I just want the seeds to be good weed. Im confused, I just want to grow some killer weed and PERHAPS pollinate a female to get more seeds for a future grow. seems like F2 are better. Sorry Im new to this breeding stuff!

but to do it properly you'll need to grow 100's, if not 1,000's to get a decent selection for the traits you seek. growing 3-4 of each will be a very hit of miss affair and is the main reason our gene pool is getting so screwed up and top strains from a few years ago are losing their traits...check out dutch passion's durban poison for instance. totally different from 7-8 years ago and not nearly as good as it once was...and no longer recommended by me. also to stabilize a hybrid, not only is selection the key but then they must be cubed so many seasons are involved in proper breeding along with much patience. i say leave the breeding to the pros who have the facilities to do it right.
