I know that most of you probably highly endorse the legalization of marijuana, but as I age (I'm 28) I'm wondering if that is such a good thing. I love grass, and I mean I LOVE it. And I also strongly support medical marijuana. But I'm starting to think that if I ever have children that I don't want them to have easy access to grass. I know it has many benefits, but I also won't deny that it does have its downsides. I myself have been guilty of abusing it leading to a lack of ambition, direction, focus, etc. So, I'm wondering if any of you would want your children (we'll say ages 13-18) smoking grass. Any thoughts?

I don't have any children so my opinon is not as weighty as those who do, but I would like to have children one day and am trying to think as a parent and MJ advocate.
I would like to see an age limit on MJ if it is decriminalized. 21 is good. Maybe have a permit to smoke MJ and the requirements are a fee to the state and educational classes on drug abuse.
I don't want to see my kids smoking ciggerettes either but that is legal, deadlier more addictive and easier to get ahold of than any other drug.

It should be illegal simply because nobody should have the right to make it illegal. Nobody should have the right to make criminals out of adults consenting to partake in something which is harmless, or at least harmless to nobody but the person consenting to do so.To be blunt, I don't give a crap if you want your kids to do it or not.

Legalization will not happen in the US, in my lifetime.
The best solution, over the next 20 years is:
1) Decriminalize, with civil penalties for smoking in public, driving under influence, selling to those under 18.
2) No penalty for prescribed medical users.
3) No penalty for home use (use or cultivation).
4) License suppliers for medical purposes.
18 should be the legal age of majority for everything. Alcohol/Weed/Cigarettes/Porn/.....

These things tend to happen in landslide victories. I wouldn't be surprised if it was legalized in my lifetime.

Have you seen the Supreme Court latelyâ?¦..lol.
Nah, it will never be legal in my lifetime eitherâ?¦.Iâ??m 30.
No, I donâ??t want my baby doing it â?¦..if she decides toâ?¦. I want her to wait till sheâ??s 18 (yeah right.)

I dont think so. At those ages its quite confusing times, and having direction is really critical. I think once direction has been established, and if my child is responsible enough that I would trust they wouldn't get completely carried away from his/her use of cannabis or abuse it as a means to escape, then I probably wouldn't have a problem with it. But I would have to believe and trust them, so its really up to my children whether or not they can smoke with my blessing, you know?
