Have you ever driven drunk? I have and I gather a few if not all of my buds have too. Just curious if you've ever driven drunk before. I don't advise it and never plan on it again. Feel free to share your stories.

i have (regrettable) driven drunk, a few times. never in cities though, always out in the country (i live in iowa so its like 98% rural anyways) luckily iv never wrecked...i had a friend who nailed 3 kids on a dirt road drunk one night.....they were making meth though, so thats sort of ironic.

I have driven drunk enough times to where it's really stupid. I try to not have my car or my car keys anywhere that I can easily get to because when people are drunk they seem to get this super ego and think they can do anything. When I drink I think I am fine, I think my most used phrase when I drink is "WHY AM I NOT DRUNK YET?"..then ill end up puking like 5 minutes later.
It's sad how easy it is to drive when you are drunk..ya know?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I used to be so anti-alcohol. I can't believe I would ever pick up my keys but it has happened. I don't like to drink alone but when I get drunk I try to have someone pick me up so I won't even have my car with me. It seems to be a good deterrent.

I pretty much can always drive....it's not a good thing. I can finish off a 22 and not think I feel a single thing....and I weigh like 105 pounds...
...and yeah I try to ride my bike or get a ride from someone else...
..or stay in close quarters..
My boyfriend is really good though about not letting me drive..even if I think I am fine..hes like..nope..not a good idea....

Hehe, I know what you mean too. My tolerance for alcohol seems unusually high even when I haven't had any for a good while. It has been this way since the first time I had a drink. I really hate it, actually.

I've driven drunk about a million times. And all I can say is that it is really a stupid, immature, and uncaring thing to do. You should never drive under the influence, but driving while stoned isn't nearly as dangerous as driving while drunk.

I can drive no matter how stoned I am. Being stoned to me is just as good as being sober. I think I just forgot what sober felt like.

Plus, traffic lights are really pretty while you're high. All the colors. Green, Yellow, Red. It's like our own little tax sponsored rainbow.

When I was 16 ( about 15 years ago) I 'woke up' pushing a truck down a country road with a friend. I had no damn idea where I was or what I was doing I was so wasted. Whos truck is this?where am i ? Then blackness again. Then we were driving it. Apparently it had overheated due to our nascar style driving and we had to give it a chance to cool now and again and push it. Then more blackness. 'Woke up' walking away from the truck that was now in a ditch useless.
We walked the rest of the way into town slipping in and out of blackouts all the way.
When I woke up and gathered scraps of memories to piece together I called my friend to try to figure it all out. We couldnt put it all together and didnt even know whos truck it was. So I called my mom, got her to get a lawyer together, and we went to the police station to see if I needed to answer to anything.
Did I steal a truck? Did I hurt anyone? Was there any accidents or hit and runs?
I was so fucking scared I had taken a life or put someone in the hospital that I cried all the way there. Some of you may have read in other threads why this fear hit home for me. I didnt care if I got shit for stealing a vehicle as long as they could tell me I didnt harm another person.
It turned out we did steal the truck and went on a wild drive while completely wasted out of our minds. We didnt hurt anyone thankfully. I can only assume we just never came across another vehicle to hit.
Never again. That scare was enough for me to wake up.
I wont ever drink and drive or allow anyone else to. And if I see a dd I call it in right away.
Im lucky, fortunate, whatever you may call it. I wasnt ready to gamble that again.

I'm not proud to admit it but I have and still do drive when I've had a few drinks. I try to be as careful as possible but basically if I'm going out for dinner, or drinks or whatever, I usually need to drive and the fact is I pretty well always have a drink if I'm socializing. If I'm with hubby then he is always the DD - he weighs more - plus he has more self-control when it comes to having that 1 last drink ;)
I live in the burbs but sometimes I wish I lived in the city so we could walk everywhere and not have to worry about it.

I never have, never plan to. I don't like people doing it and I stop them if possible. It's fucking irresponsible, and basically, well, anybody who does it is a twat. Saying "I did it but i'm ashamed" doesn't cut it, and it won't hold up in court when you're on trial for manslaughter/murder.
