DXM addiction

I discovered this wonderful drug in the form of a coricidin pill about 3 months ago, i havent been using it every day, but lets just say its been about once a week, my question is....do i have a problem, can u actually get a physical addiction to this, and if so is it to early to seek out help, and if not, are the health risks of DXM enough motivation to stop anyway?

yea they are...if u take it tomuch u cant take it when ur sick..it really fucks up your brain also....why dont u stic to real drugs and not over the counter??....u dont need help ..just a brain to know u dnt need that..i kniw poeple who were doing that shit a lot like 4X a week or more and a lot of it too..the pills and the actual drink...

DXM is a real drug. It is not physically addicting, no. I really wouldn't be using Coricidin though. It contains extra active ingredients that HAVE LEAD TO MANY DEATHS. It is well documented on many DXM sites. DXM tolerance can build quickly depending on use. The kids that have upped their Coricidin dosage to compensate have been hospitalized or died.

If you want DXM in pill form get some Robitussin Cough Gels. They come 20 to a bottle and have nothing in them that will leave you coughing up blood in the ER.

Dextromethorphan is a real drug, yes. I agree that the method of ingestion is dirty... Syrups and handfuls of cough-gels do seem like a desperate way of getting high but it works. There are various extraction procedures you can perform. You can also get DXM HBr powder or make your own using one of the procedures I've already mentioned. A cleaner method of ingestion does provide for a better trip.

I think DXM is something you do for a while and decide you've had enough. I know I did, and have.

That shows how little you know, actually. Dextromethorphan is a relatively powerful dissociative that cures coughs. Morphine cures coughs in low doses too, that doesn't make it any less of a drug, does it?

Sorry for my asshole attitude, but I am a bit tired of people saying that DXM isn't a real drug.

While frequent use of dextromethorphan does not appear to lead to physical withdrawals it definately has the potential to cause a psychological addiction. From my personal experience I would estimate between 50 - 75% of the people I know who have used DXM did so days in a row for weeks at a time and found it hard to quit. Many of them also suffered some kind of mental distortion or delerium lasting several weeks since their last use.

Of course it depends where you live, what kind of morons you hang out with etc but I've seen more people have problems with DXM abuse than all other drugs. Likely due to its low price and availability.

I never suffered any ill side-effects after heavy DXM use nor have I since stopping. I think the problem with a lot of people is that they simply consume too much. The dosage is very weight dependant.

I know a lot of people have already ripped on you, but if anything, DXM is more of a drug than cannabis. Cannabis is an herb.

Actually.. weed, DXM, cough syrup, mescaline, and aspirin are all drugs. They all have effects on your brain, so they are all drugs.

ok dude ive been off the robotussin for 5 months in my prime i was doing it about 3 times a week. I did it for the same reasons you do it we both dont have any money and i also didnt have a stedy weed contact at the time. im just gonna warn you this is a serious drug if used too often. im pretty sure its not physicaly addicting but it is hard to stop. just be careful peace

thanks guys, ive thought alot about it, and i think im gonna lay off it for a while and just stick to weed, and the only reason i took coricidin is because there arent any robo cough pills, only liquid form, which has to be the sickest shit on earth, well looks like ill just have to get a job :(

Just so you know.. DO NOT USE CORICIDIN. IT HAS BEEN SHOWN TO FUCK UP YOUR LIVER AND BRAIN. PEOPLE HAVE DIED OFF OF IT. And I think that a healthy amount to do DXM is about once every 3 weeks or so. Personally, I don't see why you would want to do more than that.. I like to just chill out after a DXM trip for a while and not really do anything.
