my plant is growing slowly but i think i know why im useing miracle grow based soil (i think thats my prob) but i still want experianced suggestions so.............

How old is your plant? Use some miracle grow with water and that should help alot. JMO.

It looks like there is no air movement inside the pot. The soil looks very dry and I bet the humidity is very low too.
What is the temperature in the pot?
What type of light is that at the top?
What is the Ph of the soil?

See the edges of the leaves?
This is a seedling are you feeding it any nutrients?
Are there nutrients in the soil maybe?

The plant looks like it is transpiring to me and there is not enough moisture to keep it alive. It's dying from the inside out unless you get a few of what I mentioned under control.

You don't feed seedlings nutrients.

this is from MG , I know theres better products out there, but am not REALLY an indoor grower, what i do indoors, is search for plants that i want outdoors, am not to concerned how the yeild is.... inside. ;)

For the most part I use MG because its easy to find, i would rather stick with the same thing, than keep switching products, around here it seems like they sell something differant every year.

how far should i keep my mh away from my plants next time that are ready for mh and how long do i wait to put plants under mh?

I keep mine under flouresants intell their about 5" tall, mainly because its cheaper, the lights are on anyway for the moms i have.

When i go to HID's ,Ill start about 2 feet away ,and move them down to about 1 foot in a weeks time, I use vented lights, you'll have to check your temps,under the lights.

I add more perlite to my MG soil also, I think most problems with MG are from overwatering.

i picked up the decent shultz soil i got blood meal and bone meal how does that sound?. my ph is like prob 6.3 to 6.5

well.....ive heard alot of people dont like shultz either :confused:

I cant remember the last time I tried shultz, but usually potting mixes can always benefit from added perlite, I add at least 8 qts (bag) of perlite to 2 cu ft of potting mix.

If its going outside I wouldnt use blood meal or bone meal, animals may dig up your plants if they smell it.
I just use a 20-20-20 fert and sometimes add Ammonium Sulfate 21-0-0.

During veg if they look a bit nitrogen poor I will use half strength 20-20-20 which is 10-10-10.. then I add half of the sulfate so it comes out about 20-10-10, I use epsom salts too,about every 4 weeks.

Strains will grow at differant rates, old seeds can sprout a weakly that may take weeks to get 1 inch tall, ive got one growing now from 15 year old seeds, its 3 weeks old and still just barely out of the soil.

dont push them, and overwater and overfert, that will make things worse.

get pulverized dolomitic lime(for ph) and perlite for aeration and drainage as mentioned above and make your soil, blood m, bone m, lime, 50/50 with perlite...make sure to put lava rocks in bottom of pot for better drainage and aeration...
Overgrow has an article on the homepage soil vs hydro...It is a real good article for soil beginners and he uses this recipe
10 lb bag, good soil mix
3/4 cup bone meal
1/2 cup blood meal
2 tbs..dolomitic lime and
x amount of perlite....make this value to 1/2 of the total mix, and there you are...just ph'd ro/distilled water, until you replant, then make a new mix and set your baby right into it...there you go, I hope this helps...
I used this for my 1st soil grow and it worked well,the buds had a sweet taste. Now, there are better mixes, but this one is simple and it works :)
