Reflective properties of tinfoil

In all me reading, I have read that aluminum foil didnt reflect light very well. I just watched an information video that said that it was alright to hang the dull side of aluminum foil when setting up your grow room. Which is correct?

The shiney side absorbs too much light, use the dull side for best reflection from foil.
