which 12 hour cycle controls veg/bud too little light or the 12 hours of dark? if it was the dark couldnt you still hammer them with 18 of light?

I think it might work, but hey give it a try. THC forms in the dark period, bud grows in the light.

Mike and Jen,

Hello... I've read about 20 times the FAQ you provided... [ http://www.overgrow.com/growfaq/27 ]

I'm thinking about this cycle, but I'm not sure what do do with it... Will it work?

I mean, it would suck if it didn't provide big gains... and we where paying 21 hours of light....

But it would be kick ass if it did work!

Somebody?! Please let us know what you think about this 21:36/12 cycle... thanks!

http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?t=29191 down at the bottom there are 2 pics one u can see a bunch of gall. gro bags they are 24 days, the pic next is 24 days into bud and half way through exp. ( not optimal conditions, the timer in my exp room is me unpluging dryer, no co2 yet, dont measure ph, eyeball nutes, general laziness brought on by smoking good meds) but its bigger, I do not doubt the 40% claim, if a guy hits em with the kelp, a hardener (gravity -from eel river hydro) I hit em with that and the exp light cyc when all buds were formed but still space in between, we need more data

Ok...

I'm about to start a cabinet grow... a hydro NFT setup... I would like to try out this light cycle....

What can you tell me? Input? Information? Please advise... I would be more than happy to aquire more experimental data for the growing community.

The other day, a guy told me to use 21/3 during vegetative state for 4 weeks. That was his personal recipe.

So, as it stands, it would be:
Seedling: CFL 18/6
Vegetative: 21/3
Flowering: 21:36/12

Please advise... Thank you! :D

Hello people,

I did this timeline to see how the cycle of lights would be.... The light period lasts for 21 hours and 36 minutes... the dark period lasts for 8 hours.

What do you think?

Can somebody please provide feedback for this idea? I'm not at the flowering stage, but I'd like to use this cycle... Any ideas?

Thank you,

How does this sound?:::

Vegetative = 21/3
Flowering = 21:36/8

??? Anyone?

turtle sounds gr8 I like it when someone thinks outside the box, sorry I haven't gotten back to you but I clipped a top and it was dry enuff for us to start smoking last nite, it was off one of the exp. plants and i can say that screwing with the lights didnt (did not) diminish the high. its brutal, gravity too strong here, must get back to couch

I can't believe we cant keep crap like growtradefuckfucks off here, my experiment is coming to a close, results: buds, good buds, sticky stoney and stinky, I think the plants had an increase from the light cycle, you'd have to get them going side by side to really tell, Did I cause the increase by some other variable? maybe is it worth the extra power? idunno did it affect potency? not adversly(gr8 smoke)
did it turn everything hermie? no
in conclusion, I would have to say that after flower set, the ammount of light can be extended up to 18-20 hrs for 2 weeks without any visible problems, who knows I might've really fouled this up, made some genes mutate or some other crazy shit, but it makes sense the plant would stay budding and just use the extra light to stack, the faq in overgrow claims 40 % increase, I believe thats possible. of course this should be taken with a grain of reality...im a stoner in the advanced stages of being stoned

Regarding my upcoming grow...

Can anybody provide some suggestions for a light schedule for the lifetime of the plant? I general thing...

I'd like to do:
veg 21/3 (jimbones' idea)
flowering 21:36/8

But I'm thinking that my plants will not know what the fuck is going on in Planet Ito and they'll go bananas... They won't be vegetative, and they won't be flowering... they'll be in an anti-gravitational suction whirlpool in which they won't be able to provide the correct genetic codes with copious amounts of materials... thus, I won't be getting any buds.

Either that, or they'll flower in 5 days...

Ok, joking aside, I'd like to do the 21:36 experiment... I think it'd be cool information to document and to see what are the results... the people on this site could benefit from that. BUT, if I use at the same time jimbones' idea of vegetative 21/3, I'm not sure the plant will know the difference between veg and flowering... Although the dark periods change noticiably...

So, if the 21:36/8 idea from Planet Ito works, it would provide bigger "buds".... So, should I follow a typical 18/6 veg cycle?

Hmmm.... Many questions... I'm out of weed... maybe that's the problem...

Any and all input would be greatly welcomed,

what we need is data as to how much light energy a pot plant can use.

log nights trigger flowering as appose to short days. The plants natural rhythem responds to a 24 hr day. Creating a 30hr day will only confuse and stress the plants.
