does cloning a mother during flowering "hurt" the mother? what about during veg?

do flowering clones revert to veg easily?

the best time to take cuttings off a flowering plant is about 2 weeks into the photo period or 4weeks before harvest,taking cuttings from late into flowering take slightly longer to root,but they will grow,water them with superthrive....bonbon
