Queue up ??Teenage Wasteland? folks.

This is extremely embarassing. The Old lady (the real life one) is pressing issue of having an RE agent come to see house for some eventual sale (that can??t happen for another year soonest). Please. At age 53 this was the best shot I??ve had at any real secure privacy for growing. This is like the suckiest suckin suckletashyish suckery that has ever sucked!!!

Had gotten all cloning supplies except 2 nutrient items. Worked off Zandor??s, Harddon??s and latewood??s work on rooting suspension and made tub this morning.

Then my soon-to-be-ex-partner comes home for lunch, starts asking when the cloning operation would ??conclude?. Like an idiot I mention the rotational benefits. And all she wants is to ??mind? the law asap and oooohh have people over lookin here there everywhere. Already mentioned this sucks. Right.

Is it not true that a plants vegetative/height growth will ??slow to a crawl? (thot I??d read) when she is put into 12/12?

Will stalk length growth excede 18"? If not, then cool, I can bud her on the vine so to speak. And just find another fem next Feb.

If you can recall

My plan prior to recent cloning effort, was to bend and SCROG this 53? (now 56?) babe into a 48? wide box on the basement footing. She (the plant) is screaming, begging, moaning, aching, writhing - well - maybe not writhing - but she??s got pistils and definitely looks like she wants to play like a very naughty girl. As an aside: I??m lucky if I can get the real life one to put on a thong without being asked.

Z, I think your concern before was that plant might grow horizontally too much for a 48? long box. Only half of my 56 inches (beat that, H) would be inside the box to start. So. As she grew out, I figure I would have 18 or so inches before the main growth tip would get uncomfortable at the screens end.

I would use removeable wire on the grid to minimize stress. Will spray with Wilt-Pruf.
Will avoid the CO2 stratefication.

Zandor: Please correct me, if the following is not true...
Cloning time to harvest time would take 5 weeks longer than just slapping her into 12/12 now. Is that not correct?

Any of you please chime in on this. You??ve all been so great.

How high will a plant??s main stalk grow from the first night of 12/12 until the time buds are ready for harvest?

Will post drawing of plan later. or sooner please ask. tks. rez.

Only looking for average guestimates since i have no clue at all.
Not going to hold anyone to anything. I understand it is completely radical to SCROG a plant this tall.

From what I have read 5' would be about the average max height for an indoor plant if it got the third and fourth (fifth?) months of vegging. This one is only about 11 weeks old.

Keep in mind am only using 6 - 45W CFLs.

tks

Kind of true....the plant will still grow taller but not as fast a rate and you can control the height in several ways. You may need to do a small scrog. You can only use clones and then need to be grown under a lot of cool white light.

Will stalk length growth excede 18"? If not, then cool, I can bud her on the vine so to speak. And just find another fem next Feb.

A mother will exced 18" if that is what you mean. My mothers are all about 48" tall but I crop them to keep them small and I get more clones.

I'm guessing you are needing to do a fast grow but still get a good yeld?

This is a SOG with 12 plants in a C-13 cabinet.
You should think of cloning small clones only about 6" cuttings. Use a lot of light CFL or just 48" cool white fluorescents 6-48" if you can you need to get the spacing short and once you have roots move them into a small hydro setup and you can flower them in about 5 day's. That is about as small as I think you can grow. You need 4 sets of leaves but that's pushing it. Use Chicken wire to hold down the height and only allow the flower to poke through.

Zandor,

Yes. Time (to harvest) is the issue.

I guess I just want morale support that the stalk of my SCROG (of a "Mom" who may donate at most 4 cuttings as a Cloning learning experiment) won??t outgrow box horizontally.

[[[ For anyone interested or studying security issues, the reason why Time is the main issue in my case is due to mate??s paranoia. The area fuzz really put out a good campaign earlier this season - busting no less than 4 sizeable outdoor grows within 20 mile radius. Semi rural small city an hour north of Boston, US.

On another day the paper reported a warranted search based on a tip. Turned out to be another kind of plant - but it got into paper and that ratcheted up mate??s paranoia even more. Wonder if LE does these early campaigns just to divide household members on issue of growing. Hmm.

Result:
My mate wants me to get my jollies off, so to speak, get some bud, then be done with it. :( ]]]

You may have answered my question in spite of my wording, Zandor.
Please see new drawing.

Cloning would normally be the way to go, yes, if yield was the top issue.

But Cloning would put harvesting date out another 5 weeks - is my understanding.

Yes, plant will stay outside box on the floor.
Plant stalk will port into growbox from the end of the growbox.
Blocking light at stalk entry will use plastic trash bag.
May need to trim off lowest branches.
These trimmed lowest branches would donate the tips for my very small 1st cloning look-see-watch which will have to be aborted - unless mate changes her mind.

Like I say, extremely embarassing.

Please see illustration and say if the length marked in RED will lengthen by more than 18?.

Thanks very much,

rez

Added current overall length to drawing.

Only need to know what estimated INCREASE to expect on ONLY the dimension marked in RED. Will obviously have advantage (yeahright, lol) in moving the pot if I have to.

Will tie off stalk low to the pot and devise other ties on stalk to distribute arc forces.

tks again

Adding my Lighting available for this years grow.

Not obscenely ambitious but, you wait til next year, latewood, lol.

Anyway, I'm thinking a well designed screen will treat her right nicely.
I shouldn't think a stalk has any "smarts" relative to light exposure???
Probably more than me but that's beside the point.

Zandor,

Just two more items then I think I'm good for now.

Re: Light reflectivity.

I am using this one-side-white masonite which is semi-glossy.
A spray of Flat White is better than mirroring effect of glossiness???
Is this an absolute?

ReflectorHood will duct out top at center and be fashioned from 12" wide roofing flashing. Just one simple long arc left to right.

How advangageous / important is it to get some front/back down-angulation built into a reflector? (a la batwings, as it were.)

Anyone's tips appreciated.
