All the power in the world resides in a man's eyes (or something along those lines) - The bloke with the long hair, that bigshot guy from "The Crow"

The answer is yes .... don't just look AT someone's eyes, look INTO their eyes, if the person will allow. Remember the lyric "You can't hide your lyin eyes " ??

Ever try looking deep into the eyes of someone that you don't know very well ?? It can be very uncomfortable for them.

Looking AT someones eyes, while conversing is normal and polite. Looking INTO another person's eyes (soul) is like seeing them naked. It can be very intimate and personal.

Eyes really mess with my head when I'm stoned. Look into a mirror and repeatidly turn the light on and off and watch your pupils get bigger and smaller. Really fucks with me.

You really do get a connection looking into someones eyes.

I believe that when human first stood erect, it changed human communication forever. Suddenly we stood face to face. Instead of relying on body language and words, humans looked eachother in they eyes and relied on them to communicate. suddenly looks mattered in the relationship, a pretty face to look at meant easier communication. kissing and smiling became ways to convey emotion. sadness and fear could be read thru they eyes and face. think about it, do any other mammals rely on facial gestures as much as we humans do???

I've always just seen pupils. I mean, sometimes you can tell somebody's mood by their eyes and eyebrows, but I don't think I'm looking at their "soul" (which I consider to be the human brain anyhow).

Yes. The most contribuing factor in animal communication is body language.
Granted, direct eye contact amoung mammals is less frequent but facial expression as well as the rest of the body is the major form of communicating.

The soul and the brain share only a common vessel and are completely unrelated.
Your brain is your mechanism for information storage, thought process, interface with the world. Its your hard drive and windows. Its an amazingly complex computer. But it is not alive and autonomous.
Your soul is who you ARE. your soul is you with the shrouds of ego cast aside.
Your soul is nakedness and purity. It is the force within you that is life.

your brain is right behind the eyes...

i like that you said that.
i too believe that the mind is your soul/spirit.
many people refer to love as being in the heart. the heart pumps blood through your body - your feelings come from your head.

As far as I'm concerned, my brain is a complex organ that processes input through the senses and analyzes it, as well as directing my body what to do in the situations I encounter. My personality is nothing more than the sum total of the lessons learned from my experiences with this sensory input, and the behaviors I have learned to use for interaction with the things that input represents. If there is some sort of "soul" not made of matter or energy, I would like to see evidence of it. To say that something is not made of matter or energy, that it is "immaterial", is to say it does not exist. How can anything exist and be real which does not interact with the existing matter and energy in measurable ways? There is no reason for me to believe that I am nothing more than a conglomeration of cells.

Yes.
The teacher stands in front of the class, the lesson plan he cannot recall, the childrens eyes percieve the lies and bounce off every fucking wall.
