2 days ago, that's right two days ago after i thought everything was fine and adjusted ok , pH&EC i had a small accident that almost destroyed my entire grow....

i was trying to calibrate that f***ing EC pen when water got into it and stopped working properly....

i said what the hell it's electronic, so small that if i hand it below the lamps the water will leave and the pen will start working properly again....

woke up the following morning.....i could read the pH and stabilize it to the desired level but i couldn't do shit with the EC....so see what i did....i emptied both tanks and added new fresh water, 10 gallons approx in each tank....then i added half dose of nutrients, i regulated th pH level once again and was checking them every hour or so...went to bed when lights went off

woke up this morning, rushed itno the grow room with anxiety to see how the plants responded only to find out that they were ok....only some leaves started getting pale green, not all of the plants showed that and this happens as there are 3 different strains growing together.....

i did some reading on overgrow and decided to do two things....first i changed the watering cycle....from 15mins on-15mins off i changed it to 15mins on-1 hour off
second i emptied once again the tanks and filled them with plain water which then i adjusted pH-wise to 5.7...hopefully in about 12 hrs time it's when the courrier arrives bringing me my all new Hanna EC-tester and within 10 days i hope to be into the flowering stage....

so far the plants are ok as i noticed that the flushing that i did made the leaves start look healthier again, it's like a miracle....

did i do good or did i fuck up?

NGOS:)

PS.i tried the ozone generator as well and it's working great against any kind of smell, not that the plants smell now, at least it eliminates the bad smell the yeist and the sugar produce;)

I don't understand why you flushed your plants. if you broke your pen, oh well, just use you rregular formula...I just mix my nutes to a formula and go...you said everything was going great, so, I don't understand why you flushed your nutes.
Glad you plants are doing better...goodluck

I flushed them because without the EC pen it would be like experimenting, like moving in the dark with no lights at all.....i've read at overgrow that if the plants show some kind of defficiency or have faced nute burns, then it is safe and recommended to change the water in the tank and use pH-balanced water and clean the roots of any excess that has build up there....in theory it works, in practice it really helps alot as you'll see from the pic below.....
so i guess everything turned out well once again, it just set me back a couple of days i suppose.....now i am expecting the post to deliver my new pen and and additive called cellmax superenzyme, it is meant to be helping the plants converting the dead roots into sugars....

do you notice the difference in heights among plants, i bet you do.....in the first picture there's this huge plant that is keep growing no matter what is happening....on this particular plant there's not a single spot that shows some kind of a problem...it just grows and grows and i can see new shoots developing from underneath, coming towards the light...this is chrystal, the strain, I had read about it many times over on overgrow, the reports etc.
the papayas are the ones that are short and bushy and they show as well that they can handle a fair bit of nutes, as they have grown already into small bushes but the problem with the nutes does not allow them to continue their continuous growth unless the EC is adjusted....
the babilonias now i think they are messed up, all five of them germed but being on the first horizontal row was their bad future ahead....they are the smallest plants on the pictures and i am really hoping for their survival until the flowering stage......
the courrier did not come today, it seems that tomorrow is the day that i am going to start the vegetation days, i am cheating i know, i plan i throw in and a 600 HPS unit for flowering stage.....
still waiting :(

you'll be alright, they look good...I am glad for you, but, still don't get it. Were you having a nute problem and you broke your pen?; or did you break your pen and decided to?, your original post doesn't make sense at the beginning, I'm not trying to be an asshole, I just want to figure out what you said happened,

You took the safe route and nothing is wrong with going safe.

I hope the new pen arrives tomorrow so as to prepare them a good meal....i changed the watering times a bit more as i have noticed that the rockwool cubes are very wet....now it's almost time for them to sleep, so they will be watered every 2 hours for 15 mins at very low speed-water flow......check the pH one more time and lowered it a bit at 5.6 and 5.7 respectively.....i can't do anything for them anymore....i begun to get fed up with that, it gets too complicated and i have done too many stupid errors so far.....the good thing is that i have got two more strains, sativas this time...white lady and super haze....one more thing is that i have seeded 10 seeds into soil (twilight) out of wich have sprouted the 9 and i plan to flower in two weeks time with the current grow...it's going to be a rather interesting thing grow.....

and latewood my pen broke and up until day 13 into the nft tray i had solutions which were adjusted with uncalibrated pens;) that's why i am typing this instead of sleeping with a smile :( now, at least my pH pen is calibrated and i know what to do and how to....

the whole point of the story is : when you test pH and EC don't do it in rush, don't be nervous and excited...be calm....and always read the instructions;)

take care

OK, bro...you will be alright, like Zandor said...better safe than sorry, it is bad, misfortune; just hang and you will probably have no problem with those plants...I think if you keep doing the right thing then everything will come around...

i think they have started recovering already.....woke up this morning early as always.....i got a good sleep last night.....being honest i must say that i got over the fact that they were burnt and stuff, after all they're just plants...if they die i will do some more....and yet i will have learnt by the mistakes i've done so far....but...yeah they're just fine...in fact i don't really know how this is happening but they are growing as well with no signs of weakness even though i have not fed them anything and even though i have changed their watering cycle to 15 min on 2hrs off....i think that they have to be treated a bit rough in order to give their best selfs to me.....have a nice day everyone and thanx for the support and advice you've given me so far.....

take care:)

picture update.....the plants are recovering i suppose....they need some manicuring but i am not willing to do that....do not want to hurt them any more....the respond nicely to the cut-back of watering and they seem to enjoy it...only one thing....as you can see i fixed the cam now, so i guess no more bad pics, in the pics you really see that some plants are not affected by that, they have taken all the abuse i've given them and are approaching 1ft in height....and i am still waiting for my EC-tester..it's definately coming tomorrow, but, i wouldn't worry now....the hard times have passed i guess...

if everything turns out to be fine is 1st of september a good time to flower them?

what number of node would you suggest that i wait for most of them to reach before i put them into flowering? i can allow a max height of 4,5ft under 2x400 (+1x600 maybe) HPS....vertical space is not that big problem but i'd rather keep em short because as i see it this is going to be a bigger ''jungle'' from the first one:)
