Hello Loud :) ok heres another post with no replies, I hate to see that so I'll give it a go ;)

Bear with me love and let me see if I've got this right, you're on 18/6 with a MH at present which normally goes off at 10pm, but you want to switch it of 2 hours earlier at 8pm.
You want to change bulbs (I'm presumming for a HPS) at 6am , and restart it all at 8 am on a 12 hour cycle :)

Sounds ok to me .....................see if anyone else answers ;)

Ah an adult to talk too :)

Never mind me Dpoisen, I'm babysitting my little gradson today and he's like a mini tornado ;)
Well I've always used a set up that takes both MH and HPS bulbs, and yes it seems to work fine. I did this because people recomended to me that this was the ideal lighting system for growing. The only time I've had any problems was when the bulbs became worn out with age.
Like I say I was always told MH for vegitive growing and HPS for flowering.

I'm sure someone will be able to tell you all the technical side for this, but is it worth it ............I would have to say yes :)
