This is a question that is largely based on curiosity, i've noticed all the different kinda of nutes and stuff for you plants and even organic nutes like from ali bongos or something but i was just wondering as to why we're not aloud to use MG anyway...most noobs would find it a cheap alternative then to all the branded nutes and then normally get a shlapskie for using MG...why? can anybody shed some light on this?

no one has a word to say on this subject??
Ze :) I hate to see no replies to a question, well I've replied but for what good it's ...................... :o
I don't know what MG is, but I understand you're asking about nutrients. I just grow really basic and the only nutrients my plants get are a home made compost, I'm really against the shop stuff, why should I pay out for what I can make myself ;) ....Which I know is full of good materials.
I also put a pinch of Phostrogen plant food in the water for them now and again. They usually grow healthy and I get decent crops from them :)
Sorry Ze, ................alot of what is said on here goes right over my head but I'm reading and learning all the time :)
love mand xxx :)

Miracle Grow is a chemical fertilizer. Because of this, a lot of people dislike it or any chem fert. Organic or nothing! Is easier to burn a plant by the inexperienced grower with chems. Also they are supposed to create salts in the soil and are hard to flush, sometimes creating all kinds of little (or major) problems. BUT...I have seen photos and read grow journals of people that use chem ferts and the yields they get and quality of harvest rivals even the best organic growers. So in a nutshell, it's all in your expertise and knowledge of the products you use. Don't let anyone BS you that they won't work as they will. Just not as easy. And it's all about easy. Simple is best. Listen to Mand!

Miracle grow is not formulated to grow short-term resin producing plants period.
The nutrient formula is all wrong for this type if plant.
If you want cheep nutrients and can't find the correct ones to buy online. Look for Shultz cactus formula that is at least close.

If it's all wrong then how have people successfully used Miracle Grow to grow some impressive plants? Must not be all wrong. Just sort of. ;) Like the analogy of 'growing' your kids. Yes they'll grow with Fruit Loops and hotdogs but not as healthy as ones eating a good organically grown balanced diet. Point being? They still grow.
Miracle Grow will work. It's just not the best choice.

As a "regular" vegetable gardner long before I started with MJ growing I second what Mand says. If you have experience making your own compost (and are growing in soil) the benefits are nothing short of amazing. Home made compost works great for just about any plant and is literally "dirt cheap".
Most problems with MG users is they tend to overdo it from being too anxious to see results.

thanks for all the replies!:D but like marc says i know that one of me friends is growing 4 plants outdoors and is using MG for his plants and the end results from his last crop were amazing! But what would be THE best nutes to use for both growing and flowering...I have a bottle of vitta link buddy (hydrogarden) and it says only use from day 21 of flowering up until harvest  Cheers!

There is one in every croud.
If you are happy with small buds, brown leaves and small trichomes then hell yes enjoy your MG. Me I'll stick to nutrients suited for growing this plant and grow pounds from each plant indoors in 90 day's or less and do it every time.
Dude good luck to you.

Yep there is one in every crowd Zandor. And I'll always be that one because I can't stand it when people are so narrow minded to say that something just won't work. Especially when it's been proven time and again that it can work. Not that it's the best. But can work.
Point is and one you can't deny (but will) is that many people have grown good grows with MG with no brown leaves and no small trichs and giant buds. You make it sound as if any grow using Miracle Grow will be shit. Again...not true.
As you say...Peace.

Just like my Daughter, you will fight until you are blue in the face right or wrong does not matter just you had your say.
Well around here I'm not the only one who will keep your crap in check. You spread bull shit and crap to nubies around here and I will keep correcting you every time.
Someday you may learn something.

Oh, and It really isn't anything personal Marc, you've helped me before in the past, I have just seen alot of bad crops that were fed with miracle grow... Not only did the final product smell funny but almost a half ounce of my buddy's plant rotted during curing for unknown reasons... I'm kinda paranoid :)

Advanced nutrients test their products on real world Marijuana.
BC Hydroponic nutrient 3 part is good too.
I have used General Hydroponics 3 part nutrients for many years with great success.
I do like mixing GH and Advanced nutrients supplements like Bud Blood the first week of flowering. Then switch to Hornby's Big Bud, add a little fulvic Acid, B1, CalMag plus and a little Piranha or Tarantula depending on what strain I am growing and the method of growing.
Is that what you are looking for?
There is easer stuff to use and GH & Advanced both have single application formulas that are easy to use and have been tested with marijuana. I just am a control freak when it comes to my plants.

Thanks Z! bit confusing but yeah a single application formula would suit me best i think! just as long as it obv has all essential minerals and metals the plants needs for a very healthy grow! Cheers!

General Hydroponic has FloraNova one bottle for grow and one bottle for bloom
Advanced nutrients has Sensi One grow and Sensi One Bloom
That may be what you are looking for.
