View Full Version : Drugs Ruin Lives

My uncle Ted lost his mind on LSD. He was an honor student in college and then dropped acid. Now, 30 years later, he has never held a job for more than a few years. A couple months ago he lost his job as a janitor and a few weeks ago he lost his job as a FedEx delivery man.

My friend dropped LSD and then was depressed for 2 years. Now he is bipolar, and whereas he used to be a happy-go-lucky kid, he now just acts weird in general and is plagued by meaninglessness.

My other friend got stuck in a trip for 2 years and was hospitalized in a mental health facility. She still has flashbacks and can't legally drive.

Many other friends have had bad trips. It's no fun having a panic attack and thinking you're going to die.

And pot, the least harmless...increases risk of mental illness 700%. If you are at all at risk genetically for mental illness, marijuana smoking can induce mental illness, even cause schizophrenia.

Notice that my user name is "WannnaSmokePot." I like pot. I'm just saying be careful. Drugs can fuck you up.

i smell bullshit.... why dont ya hook us up with that "super acid" or whatever you have cuz now a days an average hit is only about 100ug. Im interested. Drugs dont cause mental disorders, if you already have one, they can make it worse tho. Albert Hoffman has tripped more than anyone on earth, and hes 99 and from what i hear he still does once ever month

i would like to see the clinical studies that prove your statements
drugs only control peoples lives when they let it

I know that people with mental health issues tend to self-medicate with drugs, but as far as drugs actually causing the mental illness, that's a bit of a stretch.

A friend of mine dropped out of a full four year college scholarship and quit his job after prolonged use of DXM. During the winter he managed to do cough medicine nearly every day perhaps due to seasonal depression. He then fell into a state of delerium reporting that the "DXM gods" had manifested inside of him and that he was in another world even without cough medicine. This lead him to a life-changing trademark epiphany- that "the past doesn't matter anymore". Here we are a year later and he still has no job and visits the DXM gods several times a week.

The substance doesn't matter, it is the person using it.
Mild schizophrenia is no more a mental illness than christianity. Besides, we all see things and hear voices telling us to kill at one point or other am I right?

Your facts have been raped harder the Courtney Love

700% increase in mental illness? sorry thats just ignorant, studies show that marijuana is a very effective way of treating SCHIZOPHRENIA, depression, multiple-personality disorder, insonmnia, anxiety, and other mental illness. Whoever told you this (unless you made it up) needs to be smacked upside the head repeatedly with a brick, maybe that will induce some mental illness :D

yes, of course all drugs that are illegal are bad. lets just ignore reality and jump to the black and white conclusion that all illegal drugs are bad and that the people that take them are bad, which weve all been fed since elementary school when we were told by some middle aged suburban white woman (obviously one that has had extensive drug experience and knows what she's talking about) that "drugs are bad". please, we dont need any more of your propaganda. T.V., radio, books, schools and newspapers not enough to spread your message, so you have to come to one of the few places where we can freely discuss drugs and spread your preaching of bullshit there too?

700% my ass, Pot may cause schizophrenia only if it has been in the family.

Acid really only causes problems if your family has mental history problems.

The substance doesn't matter, it is the person using it.Smartest thing said in this thread. No matter how much I try to stress this to others, they are stubborn in their belief that "DRUGS R BAD DONT DO DRUGZ". What's worse: someone who has achieved a different insight from a substance, or someone too stubborn to think for themselves and question something every once in awhile?

Your post is the world's greatest proof of reincarnation; no one could get that dumb in just one lifetime. Dullard, do yourself and everyone else a favor: disconnect your computer from the Internet.

I notice that you never let an idea interrupt the flow of your posts. I see you've set aside this special time to humiliate yourself on the Internet. However, I'll consider letting you have the last word if you guarantee it will be your last. To quote Martin Luther King, Jr.: "Nothing in the world is more dangerous than a sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."

If that post was intended as a joke, you forgot to include the punch line. I'd get more pleasure from running my nostrils down a cactus, than reading another contribution from you. Maybe you wouldn't come across as such a jellyfish-sucking mental midget if you weren't intellectually outclassed by dead sheep;

You're a message board freak. I know it's hard to accept the truth, but the truth it is, and accept it, you must

Drugs can ruin lives, but the catalyst is you. Drugs can sit there all day long and ruin no ones lives. You gotta take them, and be practically fucking up.

Even when I was sorta fucking up, doing a shitload of psychedelics and ecstacy, I could still maintain a lot of things in life. Some people can't handle it. It all depends on how well you mantain.

People are different and handle it differently. I chose to part ways with everything but weed, but everyone is different, some people have better control, I wasn't one of them.

The guy probably isn't a narc, just some anti-drug moron who thinks he can save us from ourselves. A narc woudn't be trashing drugs, he'd be trying to buy some. Don't worry, WSP, soon Jesus will return and save us all from this nightmare of dain bramage.

hey... so i've never tried acid before but i've been thinking about it and i've heard stories like what this guy was talking about, having a SUPER, like year long trip or getting fucked permanently and like... i think it sounds like a lot of propaganda bullshit but is there any truth to it at all? like i don't wanna trip and end up going crazy somehow... is it really all bullshit?

If you trip over a long period of time, you could get HPPD, when trails and halos persist after tripping, but it fades with time, and you can live with it.
