Why are we in Iraq How the fuck did the patriot act get passed
Why is our goverment starting to resemble a fascist regeme more and more
Why can't anyone see what is happening in America
The laws that are being passed in the country are like a Hitler wish list
The goverment is disrespecting our constitution almost openly and no one is doing any thing about it.
Do we even have a congrass or a bunch of slap around pussies who do what there told.
I look around and the things I see make me sick.

Hey you guys, something you should all know. The government wants you to feel hopeless to stop them. They spend money on psychological warfare, propiganda to keep people thinking this way.
Our police officers are focused on arresting us potsmokers, and cannabis growers. Growing good cannabis takes alot of skill and dedication, its a profession, a business. There taking out the small business people, and stealing their property. If only our policemen were policing the big corperations, and the politicians. Perhaps then we wouldn't have poisionous toxins in our addictive ciggeretts, or in our food, and the air we breath.
Whats with you all, are you feeling hopeless to stop it. Well thats what your suppose to think. Your trained to think that way. You can only sit baack and smoke, and grow, fearing that the government does not take your freedom away someday. All the while there tossing and tumbling policy through the system while we loose interest. Who care's ?
If you feel depressed take Zoloft, may cause thoughts about suicide.
Or take this anti depressant with low sexual side effects, may cause siezures.
Anyone........
Hey, are you sure you arent going crazy. Take these antipsychotics- may cause psychosis.
Or just sit back and watch TV while we give you these messages.....
Anyone notice this, and wondering what we can do about it?
There are many avenues of activism, the question on my mind is "How can we get people motivated to get into activism."

Very good point, in my opinion. This is precisely the mindset that leads to real, effective change. I hate to hear people who disagree with Bush agree with everything the dems say, and vice versa. Open minded rational people like Walka can lead to the election of a viable 3rd party candidate who isn't just a political hack favoring big business (most dems are just as big of assholes as most reps) but has the interests of the American public in mind. There are more than 2 choices out there, but it's our own damn fault for not demanding more than 2 legitimate candidates in every election. There is a lot of ground between far right and far left, but we act like we have to alter our opinions to fit into one of these two extremes. Again, great post Walka.

There are literally thousands of people you can vote for. You just need enough signatures to get her name on the ballot. Even then you have the write in vote. Don't let the media or politicians tell you that you have to vote dem, rep, or if you're a rebel then libertarian. Take up some grassroots organization and support it if it fits your views. I'm not going to go through all that trouble though, I'm too lazy. I will probably just quit voting altogether, which is why I need all you guys to take this stuff seriously. Quit smoking grass and go out and start making the world a better place for me to sit at home and get stoned on my couch.

If there was more open negativity and less shutting up, then maybe...juuust maybe people would be more open to both sides of the views. Not just some blind patriotism. You're proud of your marine buddies because of their love of country, but what about when theyre asked to risk their lives based on lies? Doesnt that change the dynamic at all? The president and his goons lied to you and your friends. Do you still want to pledge allegiance to his war drum?
America was founded on being able to say and do as you please. The founding fathers risked their lives so that you'd be able to speak against the government when it got too corrupt. The time is now. If you let them get away with this shit now, what happens a few years down the road when a new administration comes in building their policies around the previous one?

So, I love how the only thing Bush-haters can say to people like me is that I'm "being lied to". I think there are some things that the government have to keep from the public for the benefit of the country.
Just a question to all those who disagree with my original post: Who do you think could be a better leader for the US? I mean y'all constantly talk about how bad President Bush is, but really, who would be better?

I was contradicting your theory that the views of the American people influence those of other countries. It's ridiculous! You guys would jump off a cliff if GW told you it was patriotic. As if we're gonna take your word for anything.
I don't see what's so hard to understand about it. Bush is a war-mongering fundamentalist Christian that manipulates the American people with false promises, propoganda and sugar coated speeches about freedom and spreading democracy. It's a big circus and only those who are suckered into it think he's in the right. Why don't you take a closer look at the reality of the situation rather then making up a solution that makes you feel warmest inside?
Anti-Bushism isn't something that cropped up out of playground rumours. Grow up.
And to answer your question: Anyone else. :D

What would the neo-cons say to a third party that is even more commited to a police state, let them strip your rights away one by one and soon enough a man will be elected for life in the US, it will turn into a more of a government controlled environment soon enough.
I feel so bad for the children in the US who are being born right now they will have a smelly mess to inherit.
I just wish that the neo-cons would calm down get out of everyones bedroom livingroom and bathroom.....I cannot live in a country like that GWB talks to GOD and God answers him If I said that in a hospital or police station they would put me in an insane assylum....What the fuck??¿¿

What is going on with the US population?
How could anyone vote for George W. Bush? This guy shouldn't be in the White House, he should be in prison. And now, with the fascists vindicated in the White House and in control of the House and the Senate (and soon the Supreme Court), the future is wide open. We will likely see more war, more death, and the complete pillaging of the US economy and our social system (social security, medicare, school budgets). We could see not only the outlawing of abortion, but the criminal prosecution of any woman who obtains an abortion. We could see the reinforcement of the Patriot Act, the scrapping of the Bill of Rights, and the full establishment of a police state. We could see a nuclear attack, ecological devastation, and the impoverishment of the working class.
How can such a large percentage of the US population remain blinded by denial in the face of so much evidence which flatly contradicts their view of reality (and isn't such delusion a feature of psychosis)? When the rest of the world clearly sees and deplores what is happening, how is it that a majority of the US population-which prides itself on freedom of information and informed democracy-has not clue what is really happening? How is this delusion being maintained? Through a few simple techniques.
1. Promote a system of socialization in schools that trains people to respect and obey authorities and not to question the system.
2. Encourage and rely on a social system where anyone who dissents is viewed as deviant.
3. Rely on and encourage family dysfunction, so that people are reacting from their own inner wounds and seeking acceptance and forgiveness.
4. Reinforce the atomization of society so that people have fewer opportunities to communicate openly.
5. Keep people stressed, afraid and insecure, while reporting that the economy is improving using only data for the upper percentiles of the population.
6. Support reactionary thinking and religious fundamentalism. And encourage the projection of fears and personal faults onto the Other, making him / her / them the enemy.
7. Throw any residual dangerous information down the memory hole.
8. Rely on the media to underreport serious issues and leave out important details.
9. Rely on the media to present a frame of reality which places an honest assessment outside of the viewer's comfort zone.
10. Count on the complicity and compromises of your opponent, while utilizing these complicities and compromises to present yourself as the honest candidate.
11. Repeated denial of culpability on major issues which could result in criminal charges (i.e. WMD, prisoner torture, 9-11 complicity, the Plame investigation).
12. Appeal to emotions using keywords and images; subconscious suggestion through staged media events.
13. Control the terms of conversation and debate using verbal framing. neurolinguistic programming (NLP).
14. Focus on minor, sensationalized issues.

When Clinton was president, I think I recall it being the right wingers that were the paranoid conspiracy theoriests, they were saying the same kind of things that the left wingers are saying now about the government stepping all over the consitution and us being in danger of losing our freedoms, etc. Now that we have a republican for president it's the other way around, the left is now being accused of being paranoid conspiracy theorists! I think in this situation you should support the decisions your president makes because it is for the benefit of the country that we have a leader who appears strong. I know a lot of people in the marines and I do hate that their lives are risked everyday, but at the same time I am so proud to know such patriotic and courageous people. And I know there are probably a lot of liberals/democrats/Bush-haters/anti-Americans looking at this thread, and y'all can waste your words and try to prove me wrong, but I will never change my opinions.
It was Thomas Jefferson who said, "Dissidence is the highest form of patriotism."
And the fact that you will never change your opinions is what's wrong with this country. In a nutshell, that's really it. Those, like you, who aren't open-minded enough to allow facts to influence their opinions are running this country into the ground.
Times change.
And to answer your other question about who could better run this country. Well...
Colin Powell
John McCain
Wes Clark
Robert Kennedy, Jr.
Hell, Bill Clinton could do it again

Heres a thought... Why do I support this guy, what does he do for me?
Did I vote for him? Or did I vote for the guy who actually DOES vote for him? Wait, it was the supreme court?
I got to research the county.. but an Ohio district there were over 2,000 votes in a county that has a little over 600 regestered voters.
I didn't like Kerry, I don't like Bush. But recently, going to New Orleans, and shaking hands of Fire fighters and rescue workers but wouldn't talk to the people of N.O., only flew over it. *sad, sad..*
I wonder, Democrats lie about sex.. and Republicans lie about 'everything'.
I dont HATE Bush, I dont HATE Clinton, but I do HATE what certain actions were done. Though, as a bumper sticker said I chuckled about; "Clinton lied, Hillary cried; Bush lied, Millions died. "
Questions, how does an Arab country, Saudi Arabia, that contains a large amount of Al Qaeda, be our friend while, Iraq, who was under a dictatorship, that contained little Al Qaeda members (posed a threat to Saddam), be a threat?
Heres one.. Bush said he wants Osama, dead or alive, over 1,000+ days ago, yet.. recently he said he doesn't spend that much time on it any more. *shakes head* 'I dunno, but personally, I don't agree with that.'
ok, I lied, I do hate Bush. I don't agree with him in any way.

Bush is an asshole, why the fuck is he blowing up iraq when Osama is in afganistan? He should be after that asshole first....but he did visit NO 3 times already but I agree, everything was too delayed and it was a very poor response, but now I believe our government, as powerful as it is, will get everything back on track with our billions of aid coming to the Southeast devistated regions

im not going to take sides, but give the facts about what this administration has done. When Clinton left office, we had the largest budget surplus in history. Now
we have the largest debt in history. The reasoning to go to war in iraq was wmds
-there were no wmds. Colin Powell admitted that taking the bad intel to the un was his worst mistake. Why doesnt the rest of the administration admit it? Iraq was not a threat before the war, but now it is a hotbed for al qaeda recruiting and terrorist activity. There were less terrorists before the "war on terror." Thousands of soldiers and innocent people have lost their lives in this false and futile war. The administration is against possibly life saving stem cell research. It is now possible for the government to search and seize without a warrant and to inprison without charge for things as rediculous as posting on this website or creating an anti bush poster- read that post. They have shat on the bill of rights and the good name of America. I am not democrat or republican, i just hate corrupt administrations. This one is. Say what you will- the facts dont lie!

damn... it's not as much a republican problem as a "fundamentalist" problem. I believe that God would have no problem with vaporizing marijuana. But there Bush goes, i guess he is the only person that knows what God wants done. I would have to say... i hate Utah (first anti-MJ laws) and I hate Bush's "fundamentalism" or theocracy... Iran is a theocracy and they just blow each other (and us) up... we need somebody like Bill... i'm republican, but dang, he did a good job. good economy, low taxes, everything was good with Bill and he "got some" on the side... what a player...
Is there any hope as public education gets worse, so called republicans have taken over the government, we are arresting canadians, i can see why everybody hates us... There needs to be a revolution or something. uh oh... now i'm gonna get arrested because of the Patriot Act because i might do something bad...

the negativity is because people are sick too. they are sick because you kill for what you want, it doesn't matter who is in the white house(maybe you should try a native or black person) you have been killing for what you want since you got here. your government gave smallpox laden blankets to the people in winter, it is the same government.
bush is a moron controlled by big business, he has taken the price of oil from 15 dollars a barrel to over 60 dollars a barrel in less than 5 years, he is a liar and despot, your whole government is despotic and evil. if you want to support that, then you will die in ignorance and shame when you find out what your government has done and is doing. the blood of martyrs and saints covers your country, from sea to shinning sea.

good post, a little idealistic but hell you are young and that is great, a lot of my friends are young and they do just fine. i am old, so close to dead, it rides my shoulder and whispers in my ear to enjoy what is here now. in my life i have done all i could think of to open eyes to the truth as i saw it. i have protested atomic power and the war in vietnam and received scars from night-sticks and fists, since i was 16 i have grown cannabis and now i show others how to grow naturally. i have protested and fought the government all my life, i called together all my friends and started the CCC in '98, now i am old my heart is weak, and can only sit, write and rail, as others jump the wall and stand up.

 This type of post is all over the various forums on the web. The thing I can never understand in the midst of the mud slinging is why no one ever embraces our differences and diversity. Yes, our Gov't is imperfect and corrupt, but can anyone show me one that is not? A governmental body is not in place to coddle the people it governs, it is in place to make sure it stays in place, period.
Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, whatever; you are still just a cog in the wheel. I can hear the indignant gasps already, so let me ask you this: How many of you have armed yourself and refused to pay taxes? After all, isn't that what started the revolution that made this country?
