if you were at a fest and got the munchies what would you be looking for snack wise....Im just about to buy burger style vans to site at festivals and need some imput well I need some ideas on stock............

let me see, you could go for your avarage cheese burger, always tasty. then theres that good old american favorite, the hotdog. but my personal favorite burger van munch is a bacon and egg roll with a nice tasty sprite

sorry guy, local dilect.......west mids uk, I will be doing the usual burgers, sausage, steak burgers eggs, bacon its snacks im looking at crisps, nuts, mars bars sweets ect......what is your snack of choice...uk

And I have some input regarding the snacks ...you can take or leave:
You mentioned serving nuts. Man I love nuts ( i can just see the jokes comming now) but I cant eat any because my kids are deathly allergic to them.
I dont know what the allergy rate is in the UK but here cases of nut allergies are increasing. More and more places are becoming nut free environments due to the severity. Products are being labled better and restuarants and bakeries are posting warning signs if they use nuts and nut products.
Its not a minor allergy, it can spell death in minutes from even tiny invisible trace amounts.
So that said, we avoid all places that serve nuts.
Just some info for you to consider. If you want to sell nuts maybe post a good sign and sell them in individually wrapped pkgs.

burger bars are rubbish at festivals. you need to try something better, and different.

at the lat festival i went to they had a toasty van, selling simple cheese toasty and then posh ones with parma ham and olives and stuff, they had a massive queue and the sarnies were about £4 each. There was a noodle stand, a crepes stand, a carribean stall, a cornish pasty van, and a veggie stand that sold chilli and curry and stuff.

i didn't see anyone gettign a burger. get a clue and try something different, you'll make more money than if you sell greasy burgers

No no no im buying burger style vans.....not selling burgers....from previous experience burger vans do ok the 1st day, everyone gets the shits and don't come back, I was thinking cold drinks and snacks, and the other doing veggie grub with the help of a vegan...thanks for the input guys lots of good ideas

I'd like somewhere to sell BBQd minted lamb racks, garlic king prawns on skewers, spicy flamegrilled spare ribs, ice cold fresh fruit juice/smoothies and little tubs of scottish dairy ice cream with tiny bits of crisp toffee through it yum!

No. I'm the same. I have even been known to eat nutella straight from the jar with a spoon
