ok....i have NO idea about lighting for weed...i want to start growing inside.

Which would be the best lights to get?
i hear people talking about Mh, Hps, Cfl what do these mean?

I want to find out the correct infomation before i go all out and buy a load of usless shit...or expensive stuff when i could of got somthing half the price and acheived the same results.....

Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.

Yeah you did, give me a little background on your grow area, so I don't have to write a report for you...but basically...your seedlings and clones should be started w/fluoros or Metal halide...fro VEG MH or enhanced spectrum HPS(Hortilux...extra $100)...Hps for Bloom...hope this helps...what size? what size grow?

ok where im growing is about 4ft by 4ft and about 8ft high.....do you think its worth growing in there or would it be more worth my while waiting till i have more room to grow?
im not wanting many plants this is a completly personal grow im hoping to grow about 3 or 4.....do think its possible in such a small area?

thanks very much for the info on lighting....is it better to have the most powerful light you can get or will some be too powerful?

ive got an area wich is 2X2 and about 6feet high, im planning on getting atlest 2, but 4 would be wicked.
Dont know if its possible but your space is i think.

Mh - Metal Halide
CFL - Compact/Condensed Flourescent Light
HPS - High Pressure Sodium

Surround ur plant with mylar to reflect the light, and have the light shine directly above, and close enough to the plant so it gets alot of TLC (tender love and care), but not get scorched..

goin cheap, use a Fluorescent.. It gets the job done, but if ur lookin for real potency, get HPS, but they cost MONEY.. so use CFLs to save, until you have enough $$ to upgrade ur hardware..

thanks very much for the info on lighting....is it better to have the most powerful light you can get or will some be too powerful?that is a great size and if you can afford it, go to insidesunDOTcom and buy the 400hps w/hortilux upgrade and you will never need anything else...If that is out of your range, let me know, there are other options...even 250w...you could use fluoros, but if you buy nice ones, then they almost cost as much... :)

what does the extra hortilux bulb do...and is 600w too powerful

dude, your buying a 600w horti system.. that's quite a bit of cash, im sure if you make the order he'll just send it out.. its not like a big buisness his daddy just owns a garden shop and the guy probably grows and wanted to expand the buisnes.. give it a try, after all he sells a lot on ebay with worldwide shipping it seems senseless that he wouldnt be able to

What you really need to do, is READ UP ON EVERYTHING ABOUT SEEDLINGS. Learn as much as you can because keeping them alive after they sprout is the hardest part. Once they get about 6 inches and about 4 alternating nodes, it's actually kind of hard to kill them. Just make sure you know what you're dong when you get those lights. Don't expect to just put them in there and have weed in a few weeks. It takes FOREVER just to get an OZ. You might get 2 OZ. because you're using HPS. Good idea for a first grow. I'm using CFLs but REALLY want HPS. Dont got money for it though. HAPPY GROWING!

The light you listed would do the job, but you are in a closet and 600watts in the that small of an area you better be air cooling. If you do decide to go with a 600w then get a reflector that can be aircooled, the one you had listed was a bat wing (you can't air cool) also if you are using a 600w go with the Philips Son-T has more lumens then the hortilux. If 400w go with hortilux. Now you need to look at a flou. for you seedlings and cuttings. You can go to homedepot for this one, standard or plant spec flou. are ok.

the 1000 watt that I have is hps hortilux and has a protective glass shield all you neen is a fan blowing between the canopy and shield and you can get as close as 1 foot away. I did it that way anyway without venting light...didn't need too with glass shield..and Yes I will shipp it any where!!!!call 856-825-2913 bill

the light you picked out would be awesome, but you wouldhave to be AC'd or suck hot air out of the room...

Don't be confused...You cannot have too much light...You are on the right track...IMHO
