Should I smoke It?

I was going through my extensive collection of purses, trying to decide which ones to throw out. I was emptying out an old purse that was given to me a few years ago by my mom and came across a dime bag nestled in the corner of the pocket. The baggie was full of weed so I was excited when I found it. The problem is, I havent touched that purse in three years. Meaning, the weed is old too. I gave it a good sniff and it still has some odor and has no visible mold. The bud is still intact and I can still see the hairs. Its hard as a rock tho. So I am considering whether I should smoke this or not. Ive heard that weed goes stale ofter six months. This stuff was obviously in there a while but kept very air tight and in a dark place. Whats the verdict? Smoke it or trash it????

no mold? smoke it. we where rummaging through my friends brother's room and found a gram of nug that he had hidden in there a year ago, it was harsh, but did the job. it'll probably be very potent...i'm sure you've smoked some by now lol.

Smoke away. It wont go 'stale' on you.
If youre not in a hurry you can mellow out the taste and harshness of the ol dried herb by putting it in a jar with citrus peel till tomorrow.

if the weed is still hard then i doubt it's been in there for three years. my guess is you stashed it in your purse when you had an abundance of marijuana and just forgot...luckily.

I'll never forget one time I was scrounging threw all my stash spots looking for ANY that might be left. Well after about a hour of hunting and a panic attack later I came across a roach of some killer hydro common in Indiana called 'Bubblegum' (it tastes like it). Ohhh man I could have shat myself with joy! :D Smoked that bitch and got high as hell!

had to do that yesterday. Found some in my bros cassette thing on his stereo. I put it there like 4 weeks ago it was mostly stems i was gonna use for bag stuff, but it was enough for two bowls :). I hate bowls but when tahts all ya got, whatcha gonna do? Ill tell you what i do. Smoke it. :)

when i was about 16 or 17.. i was selling dime bags to my neighborhood buddies, and kept quite a few of them in my bedroom at any given time. well, one day, a little while (6 months?) after i stopped selling.. i was cleaning my room and moved my floor lamp, where i found not 1, not 2, not even 3, but 4 fat ass dime bags lying there. they had been waiting for me all that time. :) i was so fucking happy.. i could have had an orgasm.

Smoke it. I had a similar situation but not nearly as long. Found a sack with about a gram in it left over that I must have had for a month or two and probably hid when I was high, lol.

When you put the orange peel in with the bag, try to stop it touching the bud, and only leave it in for a couple of hours. Congratulations on your find!

Good smoking cannabis needs six months of curing before use at least. The finest flavor and high is achived after a year. At which point deterioration will occur. Freezing can slow the process dramatically and having a great big top loading freezer can be just the thing to store a supply.

Here is the deal:
You cut, hang for 4 to six weeks. You trim, seal for a week. Open, inspect for moisture and mold. Seal and put in cool dark place for 6 months. Then start to use. You will be floored at the difference between smoking it 2 weeks dry and 6 months.

This is one of my gust bedrooms, they suffer the decor. But you only have to reach out for a smoke. This is a shot of another room, but no one wants to sleep in there, just those girls.

Smoke the bud, it looses about 6% of its punch each year. Hashish does NOT do the same thing. This is loose bud.

It is a really not a good idea to get the bud in direct contact as that will cause excessive mositure to enter the dried material and result in a greater chance of mold. As it no longer has any inherant mositure it will now have all its dead material moist. No life, dead material + moisture = decomposition. It is DeRanger Ricks law.

Strange.
I first started using orange peel to combat a mold issue during curing.The bud had not been properly dried and started to get the first hint of mold.
I was advised to remove the white from the peel leaving only orange 'zest'.
I plopped it in, it stopped the problem dead.
I breathed the jar each day so that helped as well.
Left a nice smooth taste and never molded.
I left it in till it was dried out.
Works for me.

Well Funky, you striped the moist pulp and left the thin layer of orange. Ok, and you shredded it too. You aired the bottle or container? So you cured the whole thing. You could NOT have left buds in there that were plainly molded so you were just back to curing your buds properly with some added stuff you cured with it. Probably gave it a fruity taste too. Remember you started with moist (too moist I assume) stuff, not dry and already died. Deranger Rick said he never heard of such a cure, but will investigate. He gives me all the old wives and witches brew stuff for plants as he was a forest ranger once, until he smoked pot one day and just wandered off.

I have some stuff that dried where it cracks on the stems, put it in bottles for six months and pulled it last night and it is soft and gooey and STILL cracks at the stem. Super Silver Haze original Green House seed. WHEW, what a smoke. My camera sucks but I will try and take a shot. I put it in a humidor and keep it at 60-70 percent after removal from the sealed jars.

Art; Yea I strip the pulp but dont shred the peel. I just used 'zest' for lack of a better word. There is just all orange coloured skin left.
Yeah, I burp it daily too.
If you hear of any basis for it working let me know, Im curious.

while Im at it Im wondering if you have any experience flavouring bud while curing. My friend wants cherry flavour. ( no..he's a guy ) and I talked him out of watering his plants with cherry koolaid. ( yea im serious)
What if he put dried cherries in with it while curing? Think that would work?

Here's the details:
Got me couchlocked high, not quite stoned but pretty damn close. VERY harsh. I was too impatient to cure it with an orange peel. I tore up my throat coughing, usually I have no trouble at all. It also took me a long time to actually reach the highest point. I felt like I had just smoked a blunt two minutes ago for about an hour, then things kicked in. Otherwaise, it was all good! Now i am off to search every pocket in my room.

aw man I was doing laundry once and i picked up a sock that had been there for like 2 years and a baggy folded up fell out i ignored it at first (knowone in my house smokes besides me so i ddint think it could be bud) then curiosty took over and i ravled this big ass bag to find an 8th and half a J just waitin for me..it had almost no smell but still got me high as a kite.....and another time i had hid some bud in my cieling when i was blazed and couldnt remeber where...3months later i decided to have another search i didn't find it...but i found a grahm of coke a family friend had stashed up there when they heard my rents coming down!!....dow if i could just find that damn bud..it was good shit to...blueberry haze

Thats so awesome. Lucky you!! The only time I ever found bud was a little baggie I found walking to my car from my old apartment complex about 2 years ago. It was the shittiest weed I ever smoked. But, free weed is free weed. :P
