do i use HPS bulb for flowering... MH for budding???

okay im a lil confused.....

i got a 1000 watt hps bulb running 18 hours of light and 6 hours of dark.... someone told me this is the flowering stage to get the branches taller bigger bushier....

now when do i switch to the MH bulb and put it in light cycle 12/12

any ideas of do i have my bulbs backwardsa

You have the bulbs backwards.

MH is for vegetation cycle using 24/7 or 18/6 of light cycle
HPS is for flowering and the light cycle is 12/12. The only time you should use HPS for vegetation cycle is if the bulb is one of the enhanced spectrum bulbs like Hortilux bulbs.

well at the moment i have the hps blub in there running at 18 hours light and 6 hours dark is that why they arent gowing so quick... but they still looko great!!!/....

should i put the MH bulb in and keep it on 18/6???... gfor about another 2 weeks... cuz it all the plants are almost 2 feet tall... but i want to get a big yield... i think im a just leave HPS in There for now and in about a week or two switch it to 12/12.... so ill just leave light in there... but here is pic of the HPS i have is it safe for the plants????

Just stick with the HPS! Next grow you do, start with the MH then switch to the HPS when you go down to 12/12. This grow, def stick with HPS :D

I use HPS for veg and flowering, but like Zandor said I use a multi purpose bulb for both veg and flowering...lil bit more money goes the extra mile!:D

if you can run both during the 12/12 flowering cycle, your yield will be better than just hps.
even with the hortilux full spectrum hps bulbs, the addition of mh when flowering will boost the bud growth immensley
