I know a lot of people (including myself) who didn't get high their first few times. Is there any reason for this?

I heard someone who smoked 7 times before they got high. :eek:

I dont know if you have to smoke 7 times to get high on your first time......(for myself i smoke some pretty good fuckin shawg and man i was so blazed....i think that was one of most memorized high i ever got).

For the reason for first time people smoking weed who wont get high....it could be the weed....or the person?

I couldn't get high my first time, I was smoking joints. It didn't really hurt like they said it would. Then I made an apple bong, chopped up the weed before i put it in, and most importantly i held the lighter on it while i inhaled. Then it really hurt my lungs and throat and now i understood why they could only hold it in for so long :)

I should have been more specific, they smoked on 7 different occasions until they got their first high.

=/ my first time getting high was out of a plastic twenty oz. water bottle. The person was selfish and thought the spliff was actually in the water =/, I didn't know any better, so i didn't get high

my first time i didnt get high at all, i did inhale because i can remember finding the feeling weird (id never smoked ANYTHING before)

second time, i just had a few drags on a spliff so its no wonder that i didnt get stoned

but the third time, about 6 months later, we had 3 joints and i got really quite stoned and from then ive smoked a few times a week - daily lol

Yes..there is a reason..everyone has receptors in their brain,cannibinoid receptors for one,that need to learn how to be receptive to cannibinoids,once those receptors are tuned..one can experience gittin high..it simply takes some folks longer for their receptors to tune into the cannibinoids present in marijuana.

It's a combination of the cannabinoid receptors not being tuned like Torog said and also just not knowing exactly how to do it...Smoking requires a certain timing of lighting and inhaling, in addition to requiring basic knowledge of using a lighter (for the less coordinated among us, it's not that easy - i mean, i STILL suck at lighting bongs and I've been at it for months). So yeah, that factor kind of plays into not getting high the first time. It's easier to get high your first time if you have someone to light for you and you have a lot of time to waste in learning how to smoke.

the first time i didn't get high b/c me and my friend were dumb and had little experience between us.. plus i'm pretty sure the weed was terrible. but the second time i was smart and hung out with 2 friends and their stoner friend who had decent shit.. then i got high for the first time.. the first high is always the best b/c you realize you're high and you can't believe it b/c it feels so good.

i think people don't get high the first time simply b/c of newbie mistakes. unless they know already how to smoke something.. people can be stupid and don't know how to do it and it takes a few tries lol.

These are my thought on why some people don't get high their first time:

:They don't have good weed
:They don't smoke enough.
:They don't know how to inhale, they don't hold their inhalation (lol did i make up that word?) long enough.

i was high the first time. when i smoked with my friend she didn't get high cause it was her first time. so i did what i could... i made her get me a large glass of water.

The first few times that I tried pot, I didn't get the least bit high (maybe just a little giggly) and I know the reason for this! One word: joint. I now despise the joint, its pointless. I have never gotten high from a joint, and I have used it correctly. The first time I smoked out of a pipe, WHAM! I was so fucked up, I forgot who I was, where I was. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer bongs and pipes, in my opinion they amplify the weed.

It doesn't matter how long you hold in the smoke. Once it hits your lungs the active incredients (the ones we love) are taken into your bloodstream. Holding in smoke for a longer period of time makes you feel higher though, due to lack of oxygen. So technically, you'd be better off exhaling and then holding your breath for 20 seconds.

i got stoned my first time, all i did was look at the wall and all these trippy posters, then we watched lion king. It was stupid tho cuz the chick was yeling at me to stop tripping out, when all i was doing was looking at the posters. haha there was another chick there and i dont even remeber it(it was her first time too) but i inhaled and it didnt hurt at all, i wanted to choke but i didnt. Haha other chick coughed up a lung, she was jealous that i didnt cough.
