New grow. 4 plants. 2 came up and stretched a little then started to veg. One is way behind as it didn't pop as quick as the others. But one came up and then just spread out. Stem is about 1/4" long (all are seedlings). Stems on the other plants are about 1.5". Bag seed. Ever seen such a thing? Any reason for it? Thoughts? Thanks

all plants are a little different...some of the same strain finish at different times...some seeds pop later than others...it is just nature,,give it a week and then look at them...imho.later

As latewood said, all seeds are different. Different strains, different genetics. I started a few seeds some weeks ago, all at the same time, and one is way bigger than the other. I had to make levels for them so they all stay at the same height. They are just diff. strains, so some grow faster than others.
I wouldn't worry so much about the stretching now. Just try and keep your lights as close to the plant as you can get without damaging the tops. When you transplant into bigger containers, once they get bigger, you can add more dirt to the bottom of the plant and cover the stretched stem up. Good luck.

Do you think you could keep plants in a 6"x6" container if you were looking at just veggin' for say 30-40 days and then flowering? I read an article once where it seemed like they were suggesting that if you had a larger container your yield would be more. So 3 gallon = 12 grams and 5 gallon = 18 grams...for example. Everything else the same.

for what it's worth, I use Ig distilled water jugs for early veg, not to big, cheap, and best of all, they cut off real easily and you don't disturb roots while replanting...imho

Here's some pics. Leaves twisted? Low to the soil? And the one has had it's first leaves hangin' down like this ever since they came out. What would cause this? Plus the growth is way slow as compared to last grow. Same everything except I added more light! Thought they'd go nuts. Daylight cfl's.

THose look perfectly fine me.
With more light, they will grow more compact and thus appear to grow slower.
Internodal length will be astoningly low, thus the illusion of slow growth.
You will see the difference with weeks 3 and 4 with the secondary bud growth sites.
your plants are wonderful.

Yes, your plants look in perfect health. Keep it that way by not overfeeding, and only water when the soil is dry. Good luck and keep us updated!

They have seemed to be drying out a lot quicker too. Must be the cfl's stuffed down into the container as much as possible and fan blowin' on 'em 24/7 huh.

Everyone needs to be needed and loved :)
You may have to water daily. Good CFLs and the fan will dry out fast some good loose airy but compact grow medium.
I cant help you with the vertical ionic flow positron issues :D

Another eason they are drying out faster is those ladies are sucking up the water faster. That's a good thing. I water every 3 days or so.
