hey
just wondering, how bad would it be for myself to go 48 hours without sleep
no drugs involved
just i've never really stayed up very long

if there arn't any LONG TERM affects, i'm for it

but 48 hours isn't very long compared to people who do speed and stay up for 7 days
woah!!

yeah, i recommend you stay up for atleast twenty four more hours...that's when you start hallucinating!...well...that mighta been the drugs. no long term affects, get some sleep and you'll be back to normal.

speed on the other hand can cause psychosis.

yeah
my friend was a speed addict for awhile

he said that when you stay up for a really long period of time ( 30+hours) without sleep... that your brain starts to think it's dreaming so you start hallucinating
blah

You can stay up way longer than 48hrs. It's possible but not very healthy.

Well, there aren't any long-term effects of staying up for 48 hours. Two days is actually one of the low-to-mid class sleep deprivation periods. Some people, during the course of their full work day and activies with the family, stay up for 20-22 hours at a time.

Though its true that most people are different, most people experience the same set of symptoms after staying up too long. Some people usually start hallucinating, little things at first, like something that really isn't there from far away, like a mirage. It might disappear a second later. As it continues, visuals will be more upclose and more vivid, more "real." After 4 days of staying up, hallucinations can have progressed into a "bad trip." You might find yourself in front of something very scary, unable to escape it, "always following you." You might have entire conversations with people that aren't there, but, having been up so long, when you speak it is very hard. Your mouth seems to move very slowly, sluggishly. You might get the feeling that talking is just too much energy. Some people just end up literally drooling on themselves because they can't get their mouths to work right. Motor skills and coordination are nil, your entire body will ache and when you move you might feel the need to scream.

Thats just staying up for EXTENDED (read: a week or more) without sleep. Usually people just pass out before then, though. And this is without drugs. Though minor sleep deprivation isn't very serious, and in fact somewhat normal in the world today, extended sleep deprivation can cause minds to crack.

I've never been able to stay up more than 25 hours before accidentally passing out while watching TV.

Anyway, GOOD LUCK, DUDE. TRY FOR 3 DAYS, if ya can, if not, keep on keepin on as long as possible.

Lol, go for the month!!
lol, does any1 know wot the record is? I don't have a clue. I used 2 stay up a few days in a row, but nowadays staying up for 36-40 hours every couple of weeks is enuff. I have poker nites with my mates & end up drinkin & tokin all nite, then go work or play golf the next day. I only sleep about 5 hours a nite anyway cos my body doesn't seem 2 like too much sleep :D

If theres no drugs involved its usually not too bad. I go to Asia quite often to visit family and/or for business and its usually about 50hrs between the time I wake up in the morning here in the U.S. and finally get to sleep over there. That's because I can't sleep on planes and get terrible jet lag. Nothing to do with any drugs. I get a bit dizzy and am pretty wiped out but other than that I'm ok. Back when I was doing crank I'd stay up for a couple of days at a time and would be a total wreck.

i have bouts of insomnia, where i don't sleep for days and days, i get little cat naps when i can. i have gone over a week, but i did get little 1/2 hour to hour naps. it's horrable, my mind is just racing and i can't seem to catch my window. 4 1/2 days i was seeing things and couldn't focus. one wierd aspect is that you pass out, and wake up at the Dr's office, and not know how you got there. You have a real hard time telling the difference between dreams and reality. so i guess that odd bus ride wasn't a dream? i got home and passed out on the couch for and hour. i thought "this is it!" and went to bed, only to lye there, and stare at the ceiling. it seems to come with my depression, so i try not to look at where i am , and focus on my goals. now i got this great relaxing tea, i pack a bowl, and drink some tea. i can't keep my eyes open.

Ok, sorry to say but i get soooooo bored trying to follow your threads, even if you only write 2 lines, i half read the first one and think "what a waste of time" and leave the rest.
Start making sense, or don't say anything at all...
