wow the thread re appeared ..
well its not so easy to actually change the ip adress your isp assigned you with, but you can download an anonymiser socks 5 client from here http://archive.socks.permeo.com/mail/aft/msg00136.html, then you need to find your self a working socks 5 proxy from here http://www.atomintersoft.com/products/alive-proxy/socks5-list/.
once youve done that, you go into settings and fill in the proxy ip addie and port number in the client, then you go to new, find the program you want to run the proxy through and click it, then run it, simple as that ;)
im not saying that will keep you 100% anonymous online, most porxy servers keep logs, and some are even run by the government, but theres the basic idea.

ermm no, you can proxie yourself through telnet but if you cant figure out the method i posted above you probably wont be able to do that heh. If you just want to proxy your browser your can find a proxy, go to internet options, connections, lan settings, tick the use a proxie server for lan box, then fill in the details.

heres a easy way:
open 'Tools' then 'internet options' then click 'Connections' Tab then click 'Lan Settings' then check the box under where it says Proxy Server and enter a IP from: www.stayinvisible.com enter the IP in the 1st box then the Port in the 2nd Box
Example: 382.183.19 80
That will mask you ip.

check bypass proxyinformation box in the Proxy settings box too
make sure you pick a high transparent one
i think the problem is because i have a remote address....not that i know what that is but....and i have java running which apparently cuts out the proxy server

most of the free proxies are a bit slow and cut right out sometimes its probably nothing to do with you.

....all that so you can continue to be a dick on someones server?
if you got kicked from a game you are simply not wanted in the game that guy is hosting for whatever reason. There are lots of servers so just find another one.
Dont harrass this guy and the people playing there by reappearing everytime he bans you. Thats just not cool.
People rarely kick you for the fun of it. Usually its due to your presence and behavior having a negative impact on gameplay or teamwork. Whatever you did, just dont do it again.

The question has been answered, so I'm going to close this. In the future, I prefer that such discussions be kept off the boards, since one of the few effective tools we have for controlling trolls and other undesirables is through the use of IP bans, and ways around them make it more difficult for us as moderators. While I realize that such information is freely available on many sites, the less easy it is for less net-savvy folks to get hold of it, the easier MY job is. I hope you all understand my position. I don't know what Ron's thoughts are on the subject, but this has been policy at virtually all message boards I've been involved with, for the reasons outlined above, and I intend to enforce it as policy here, unless directed otherwise.
