These shits scare the fuck out of me. It can't be just me...does anyone know the "truths" about roaches man? Not that bullshit parents tell you when you are little cus whatever they said to me I think brainwashed me and manipulated my whole mindset on the insects. I'm not all that scared of spiders, crickets, flies, anything at all except roaches. To the point where I'd sleep under the covers rofl when I was young (not as much any more unless I am stoned and paranoid as shit). So someone help. How do i end this phobia? Besides facing it.

Thanx.

well, facing it is the only way. eating live roaches while laying in a nest of them should do.

That's no help at all.

i can't get over it either. they're just creepy ass creatures. just them being there doesn't bother me, but i can't stand to pick them up...same with spiders. both of those insects are just too sketchy for my liking.

That's how it is for most people, but for me...if I see one I will retreat. rofl. it's ridiculous. I could easily kill any one if I wanted.

it's good that you choose not to kill them, bad that you run from them. the only way to cure a phobia is to face it. pick one up, hold it your hand, DON'T BE AFRAID!

They can live with their head chopped off for 9 days before they starve to death... That shit is fucked up. It may sound wimpy... in fact it is, but when I see those things, I bolt faster than if I just saw a cop.

I just don't understand it. It's ironic that stoners are attracted to marijuana roaches, but are repelled by American cockroaches.

look, just stick on a sharp stick, hold it over a flame untill it bubbles its guts out, then sprinkle some salt & chew chew chew! MMMMM tasty!

my room is pretty messy, probably the messiest in my house, and I swear to god I have never once seen a cockroach in my room. It's not dirty with food or anything...just dust and whatnot...But I have never seen a cockroach in my room. My mom has seen one in her room and so has my sister, but never for me. :/ Are they repelled by incense or smoke in general, because I always have something burning in my room. Maybe that's why I never see them in there?

historically people burned lavender oil because it repeled fleas (they even used lavender for the black death) so it wouldn't be surprising if it kept them away.;

plus they are light sensitive, when you are burning things you are probably awake, or at least have some light source, they hate light!

*edit* not to freak you out or anything, but the reason you may not have seen them could also be BECAUSE you have a messy room. More stuff for the little guy to hide under!

ok i had this problem....and if im lying im dying this is the honest to god truth... one morning i was lying in bed and a cockroach crawled acroos my chest. so i threw him off me and he landed in my trash basket...so anyway you cant have a good day after that unless you wake n bake....so i did. anyway about half way through a bowl i started blowin smoke at the roach. after about 4 hits he stop tryin to get out so i picked him up and we just kinda chilled. me and the roach. both stoned. then i took him outside and put him under a bush. we have never seen eachother again. which is sad cuz he was a great smokin buddy.. always let me take greens. anyway. find a roach and get high with it. it will be better.

LOL, what WeBB was funny.

Anyway, this is odd that this thread is here. About 4 days ago it was about 2:30 pm I felt my hair blowing on my face from my fan. So, I go to move it and I pick it up and it feels DIFFERENT, so I squish and it makes the squishy squishy noise. I'm like, "WTF?!" So I get up really quick and realize I'm holding some bug in my hand! I go to look at it and I don't know if its a cockroach or not.
It was really light brown, and I read that cockroaches are either dark brown or light brown when they're really small. This guy was full grown. It wasn't big by any means, but it wasn't small like the pictures. There are albino cockroaches which are white, but mine was still tan. So, I don't know what it was. My entire famiyl said it wasn't a roach, but then my friend said it was just a waterbug, too. But, then he said that it was a roach because he flipped it over and it had these

/ \

black things that were shaped like that (put the roach body, fipped over, inside those two arrow thingies) near its hind end. He said thats how you could tell.

But, I don't know. I have been looking everywhere and I can't find a picture of a roach that was the same color. I also pulled out my bed and looked under it and shit. I dont' have any food or anything, I also didn't so any roaches. But, I do leave empty cups in here for a few days. Sometimes I'll leave an empty bowl of cereal (with the milk DRANK) in here overnight. I always pick shit up when I wake up, so I don't know.

I'm still freaked out enough to turn on my mini-lamp when I sleep. Well, actually, last night I was really baked and decided to go ahead and use the mini-lamp because the thought of a roach crawling into my mouth or laying its eggs in my cornea wasn't exactly the greatest. So, I set it up on my twirly, leather chair beside me, and covered it halfway up with a black shirt. Light was shined directly on my face and arms so as to make sure they don't get near me brain!

one time, my ear itched, and i went to scratch it, and my hand got covered in bug guts from a huge ass beetle. it was sooooooooooo sick.

Cockroaches are among the most common insects. Based on fossil evidence, roaches are known to have been present on Earth for over 300 million years.
3500 species of cockroaches about 60 species are found in the United States

For anyone who wants a quick fix, grab your vaccum cleaner with the nozzle attachments. Just suck the little mothafucker up... no more messy bug splats, no more getting up close and wondering "did I get it?" only to pull the tissue back and see his ass scurry away... I'm pretty baked now, but it's always worked for me. Then just empty the vaccum container outside in the garbage.

lmao... dude i got the same problem you do, except i know what caused mine, when i was young (maybe 5 and younger) i used to sleep in the bed with my grandparents right in between them, and my grandpa was always a scuzzy mother fucker, well one night i had a dream i lifted up the covers (at the time, i thought it was real) and like 4,000 (literally, there was just no end to them) started pouring out from all dirrections, ever since then i've been scared shitless of roaches.... i'm not scared of any other bugs, just roaches, if i see a roach i'll freak out and my heart will start beating all fast, if a roach gets away after i ~tried~ to kill it i won't be able to sleep until i find it and kill it or find a carcass of a roach that could have been it....

I read in a book that in a prison in bangkok (think the book was called "The Damage Done")
But they were given dirty rice to eat and that was it....so some of the guys who had been in there for a while showed the main person what they did with the rice...

They lifted up the floorboard and there were apparently massive roaches under there.....they fed their rice to the roaches to fatten them up....and they had managed to get some salt and oil.....then when the roaches were fat enough they would crush them up into a paste with some oil and salt and eat that instead of the rice....

I thought that was pretty disgusting.....

Spiders, cockroaches, wasps, bumblebees, centipedes, millipedes, ants... they all freak me the fuck out. Anything with more than 4 legs is just abnormal.

If I was in a bangkok prison im sure id be eating cockroaches to instead of disease infested rice, especially when the cockroaches have a lot more nutritional value. How can you guys be afriad of somthing so small?? you are 10000000x its size, especially you guys out there wtf are you a bunch of pussies!! (j/k) Keep spiders around, they take care of most of those bugs listed and keep the mosquitos from biting you and giving you diseases!
