Couldn't have said it better myself. This is why I like megadeth too. They are great and always have been.
Iron Maiden could be compared to a slip of litmus paper that was never used. Its potential was to take up a space in the science of music (on some level or label) and just to help pass time because there isn't anything they have that is innovative or different from other ignorant metal bands during that age. They are all monotonous...My reasoning.

I hate closed minded people like you. Bands such as iron maiden did many great things like having catchy guitar riffs that got many kids into music and instrumentation. And don't think this is some random metal-head talking, I take classical guitar lessons and am very influenced by flamenco and jazz but I still love Iron Maiden because they are the reason I play guitar today.
I can understand your opinion on their role with guitar and spontaneous composing which they did, in fact, make possible with fresh and unique riffs. I can recall, now that I think about it, everytime someone mentioned the role of Iron Maiden and the influence of guitar that came with it. Err kind of.
