Very long term storage of hashish ?

Hello,

I am a hash lover and am stocking up on the stuff since I cannot trust my supplier to be there for the years to come.

Since I dont smoke a lot, it needs to be keept for long periods of time.

Currently, theres some in the refrigerator with wrapper that is airtight and that has been there for more than 6 months. Looks fine and tastes fine.

I have just bought some more and would like to know if it can be stored safely for 1+ year.

I am thinking of the freezer in dark airtight container with the hash surrounded with wrapper.

Is this fine ?

I cant answer your question conclusively but I can say that fingerhash (or whatever you may call hash that is made from hand rubbings) does not last nearly as long as you want it to. The oils from the makers hands will invite molds, bacteria etc to form after a few months. Seived or pressed hashes are better products for long term storage but I couldnt tell you from experience what the best method is. I would assume that the freezing would rupture the glands causing accelerated oxidation and loss of potency over time. Ive always wrapped it tight and kept it in a cool dark place. But ive also never kept it more than a couple months.

If its kept cool,Dry,Dark and most importantly air tight It will Last indeffenetly..

The hash is pressed Afghan.

Interesting that maybe the freezing process would tear up th glands.
The hash is pretty soft so I would assume that the glands are already torn?

The glands are all 'destroyed' in fingerhash by way of the intense friction required to get it off the hands and into a ball. The other methods of production dont do this to the same extent.
Itll withstand freezing temps ( some hash is even made this way ) but I dont know about extended periods. Sorry I cant be much help....even after googling it.
