hey i just got some lights... im not sure if they are good they give off 3400 lumens is that good enough to grow some great plants like ive seen on here? :rolleyes:

What kind of lights? How many watts total?

It is a total shot in the dark going by lumens.

lol i got shop lights they were cheap i think only 40w it says???? but that sounds like nothing i dunno can i grow with it?

the question is what type of light is it? Shop lights can be Halogen and that is not good for growing for example.

they are fluorescent 48" 3400lumens 40 watts 20,000 hours 3000k color temp...any good pretty much all i can get right now as i work off and on with my dad company cause im only 18 just got out of school and shit not much money right now.. :(

40 watt fluoro? uncool... unless its compressed... then u gotta tell us the mimmick..

up it.. at least 75 watt, for a seedling... thats IMO tho..

That is more of a warm bulb for flower cycle. You need 6500k for seedling and clone and veg cycle.

so that light is to much? for it so what do i use??? i have a spot light thing thats 60w or something but i dont know the rest about it or anything its an old light...i dunno i guess im gonna just have to try out the shop lights i have as i dont have alot of money to put into this as its my first grow and i just got out of school...and is mylar paint? sorry if i seem dumb or anything just that i am very new to this first time for me...and i dont want to mess it up but then again im not gonna have the best plants as i dont have the best seeds or lights or anything...so any advice or any cheap lights or anything if u could just list or tell me the brand and where u get it would be great help thanks once again.. :(
