Bush has the power to fill vacancies without senate approval while congress is in recess.Under the constitution,a recess appointment during the lawmakers break would last until the next session of congress, wich begins in 2007. :D

the moonbats should be taking the fetal position anytime now.

Appointing John Bolton to the UN is like Appointing R Kelly to the Miss Teen US Pagant. Someone is going to get pissed.

So lemme get this straight.

W. installs a man to speak for the United States of America who doesn't have the backing of the majority of the population of the United States of America (look at a census report; the "minority" of Democratic senators represent more people than the Republican "majority")?

Wow, another genius idea from the man who choked on a pretzel.

You're right. Clinton did make his fair share of recess appointments, most notably the ambassador to Luxembourg.

Bush Pt. I made 77 such appointments and the Republican hero, Ronnie Reagan, made an awe-inspiring 243.

I just love when my president represents the greater good.

"I am truly concerned that a recess appointment will only add to John Bolton's baggage and his lack of credibility with the United Nations. That said, the president has made this decision, and I will do everything in my power to support Mr. Bolton as he takes this new position." - Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio

Howdy amsterdam,

That's a big 10-4 ! I don't want yet another ass-kissing diplomat at that post,it's time to shake up the UN in a major way..and loosen the grip that islamofascists have on it.

Have a good one !
