alchemist is alright, hes got AMAZING tracks, but then hes got some real wack ones.

im going to go with madlib. i love his jazz influenced tracks and the fact that he does all of his production from vinyl (the way its supposed to be done) instead of computers is dope.

Kanyes got to be well up there in the producing game making some crazy beats not just for himself, but alot of other artists. Common, Jay-Z, The Game & Shyne are just a few of raps biggest names that have rapped over 1 of his beats. Dre is still 1 of the great producers, he's been around for like 20 yrs and can still make a beat. I like Lil Jon's style, with the huge bass-lines and Scott Storch. But The Alchemist doesn't make many good beats.

Sitting here looking at my platinum plaques,
Thinking 'What the fuck am I without a Dr. Dre track?'
When Doc say it's a wrap, it's a rap,
It's still Aftermath, and ain't nuttin' after that!

I would say Dr. Dre and Pharell west

Dr. Dre had some classic beats on snoops first album and had some sick beats on The Chronic album and Pharell is Jay zes go to guy he comes up with the craziest beat.
Tell me that when you heard Drop it like its hot beat you started clicking your tounge.

Mex
08-25-2007, 10:58 PM
Kanye West has the best beats, his bass hits so low and drops in nice and hard with a huge kick that shakes yoru body. Close behind him is DJ Cannon and DJ Drama if you listen to some of Jeezy's songs with them they quake to hell (white girl).

Lankan Lion
08-26-2007, 12:15 AM
the level of production is so high these days that i could ring off a list 10 pages long of producers that have the potential to crank out a classic track...based on nothin but personal preference

Just Blaze...blows my mind sometimes the way he can flip a sample. No one can make a banger like him
DJ Premier...often imitated, never duplicated...the legend
9th wonder..lol gets brownie points for doin his shit on weak ass fruityloops
RZA ...still working and in terms of sampling, he was a revolutionary
Kanye...learned a lot from Just Blaze from the roc days and he combines that with a pop sensibility
Dre... dre never crowds his beats too much and sticks to the essentials..a piano riff, some 808's and a bassline...proven formula for success
Neptunes... insane drums...sounds so simple but the beat is always on point. With the right rappers (CLIPSE~!!!) ridin the beat you get tracks that get stuck in your head for weeks
Dan the automator/Prince Paul...lol just gonna combine em cause of hbms. Jazzy, laid back fun music
Hi Tek...great range and can make a beat for 50 and talib in the same day
Mannie Fresh...I guess you could call him the souths primo lol
Rick Rock...bay since before hyphy
ski beatz... primo before there was primo

bunch more but these are the ones whos beats I know will be fire before even hearing them (lol no timbo since timbo's been too busy jockin JT and nelly furtado to make a decent rap beat)

Ant (of Atmosphere), MF DOOM, RJD2, Prefuse 73, Madlib, DJ Dangermouse, ?uestlove, RZA, P.O.S, DJ Q-bert, ... Pharell also makes some prety tight beats,

DreadConches
08-30-2007, 10:50 PM
Yeah even though Kid Koala is a turntablist he is pretty good.
I can't believe no one has said Stoupe of Jedi Mind Tricks. He seriously puts out really good beats.
Most of the other amazing producer have already been named.
It is rumored that Timbaland gets something like $500,000 a beat.

Man, EVERYONE is reppin Dr. Dre. I just got to say it...

I have nothing but respect for Dre as a man, as a legend, and I owe him huge cuz G Funk is what turned me on to hip-hop what like 14 years ago...

but in my personal opinion, musically, he fell the fuck off a looooooong time ago. I can't remember the last time I really liked one of his beats. it all sounds like kiddie music, from the eminem oompa loompa sounding circus music to 50 Cent/G-Unit nursery raps. I know obviuosly some of y'all like it and thats cool, more just wondering if anyone feels the same way.
