I feel sorry for Americans. Marijuana laws are so harsh down there, it's bullshit! Something so harmless made out to look so bad. What is so bad about it all? What harm are we doing to each other smoking, growing weed? I will never understand, damn US government!
I think you all should move to Canada. We'll filter out the crap, leave them there, and have a nice, smokey Canada.

I dont know if there are other posts here regarding this ( i havnt been on in a while)but if you want the most accurate info about this visit cannabisculture.com and hear Marc's people tell it like it went down and what he is facing and what we can do in support.
If you enjoy the herb this is one moment in history to get involved in in any way you can. This is history in the making people.
And for all you who have orders pending ( in US ) the feds have all his customer info from his computers. Im sure he takes some protective measures but the feds are not planning to do this one half assed. They are in it for the big score.
Go read up friends and add your voice.
Also visit his seed site...it has been shut down but there is info posted for us all.

He is still in Canada facing a potential extradition to the US to face charges of trafficing and conspiracy. It will be a long drawn out battle before that initial stage is decided upon. He is a man with many resources and he will have momumental support behind him. It will be a prescedent settting legal battle.
He is wanted by the US gov. for selling his seeds online to their citizens, effectively entering into a growing partnership with each person he sold to. ( as they see it )
They have seized all of his business records and have taken over the political offices ( marijuana party) and are preparing to hand it all over to the US for follow up.
Even before he is persecuted...er I mean 'prosecuted' they will be begging for those records with the intent to go after everyone in the US who is growing from his seeds.
That doesnt mean tear down your plants right now and flush your personal stash. It just means watch this one closely and pay attention to what is going on.
This has implications for both sides of the border as well as setting a prescedant for internet related 'crimes' and the ability of one government to go after a citizen of another country for breaking the laws of a country via a computer and a modem.
come on go read up, dont be lazy, it DOES affect you and your lifestyle and your freedoms.
peace

go visit one of his websites. His closest people are rallying support.
This man is the most vocal and prominant marijuana activists/educator/etc on our earth. He has footed the bill for many many people facing persecution by the courts, he has contributed signifigantly to our atmosphere of tolerance here in Canada.
I could go on and on and on but the point is that its time for us to get behind him.
Any measure of support no matter how small is a respectable contribution to the cause.
peace.

You got that right Flesh.
It wouldnt have been criminalized in the first place.
We used to widely use it for meds before the pharmaceutical giants moved in.
The US REALLY wants us to take their stance on it. Until this move of cooperation I thought we were doing good at keeping them out of our business for the last few years.
Marc is hardly considered a criminal here in Canada. He is open and vocal and hosts parties, competitions ( tokers bowl ) , sells his seeds, weed and heads a political party devoted to the legalization of recreational pot. He has a cafe, store where pot is smoked openly. ( this info for our US friends on the board)
My point is his shit is not secret and it is tollerated by the cops and government. He is respected. But now at the request of US authorities they raid him big.
He's been raided in the past but nothing on this level.
The kicker is that our cops acted at the request of US for something our cops didnt give a shit about prior.

While many folks are blaming the U.S. for it all, one should realize that Canada signed a treaty(s) with the U.S. to allow for such actions; DEA, FBI, etc have offices/agents in Canada ... how? Yep, because Canada voluntarily allows them to be there.
Right now the best thing for Canadians to do is to contact their local reps, write letters, protest, etc their own government - bitching about the States, while certainly justified, isn't going to help much when much of the problem is Canada itself ... they arrested Marc Emery and they will be the ones who ultimately extradites him to the States.
On the bright side, the arrest of Marc Emery is likely to galvanize support for real, meaningful reform in Canada more rapidly than if the DEA had done nothing; things often get worse before they get better ... the DEA may very well have overdone it this time - forcing Canadian politicians to address issues they'd likely be hoping to gloss over/ avoid.

goddamned nafta. i know nothing about politics, but it sounds like canada should stop associating with america alltogether. the reasoning for the investigation of marc emery was because of the "problems" arising in america, was it not?

Okay! well first of all I want to say! FUCK AMERICA! your government better get it's fucking nose out of our country or shit is going to hit the fan! seriously. We don't take kindly to this kind of shit. Second of all! how the hell are they going to give him life in prison over seeds? It's not illegal in Canada to sell seeds. Are they going to like hand him over to the US government. Thats ridiculous, why the hell would they do that. All he is doing is taking orders from US citizens!!!! If US citizens didn't want to grow so much fucking dope then he wouldnt be selling it to them. How is it his fucking problem? He didnt even step out of the country to sell these. So how can you say ohhh yah well he sells seeds to Americans and throw him in jail for life!!! thats ridiculous, this is going to start a shit storm, and i'm going to throw shit apples at the US government and I will never step foot in America until they change their repressive drug laws. My fiance is American and doesn't smoke weed, drink, or do drugs and even she thinks Americas drug policies are ridiculous and they dont fucking help anyone and they just cause problems. FUCK AMERICA! God bless all the real Americans! I'm happy that the Americans on this site are real Americans, not those fucking pussy ass strict, anti freedom and anti pleasure republican arseholes!
I think Canada shouldn't hand over their own citizens too the douchebag american government. I'm ashamed that they would hand over one of our people to these sick fucks. I'm not going to sleep well at night knowing that the american government can call up my government and say uhhh we want this person to be put in jail here for a ridiculous amount of years for some fucking dumb cannabis seeds! FUCK I"M OUTRAGED! FUCK. Fuck you george bush you stinky dicked, ass fucker. dude, mj laws ARE a really bad thing right now. it's not just a matter of you and I getting some weed, it's people like that father who was killed in front of his little kid for having 3 grams of weed, the millions of innocent people who have their lives ruined by jail time and criminal records merely for enjoying weed in their past time, not to mention those who are punished for trying to relieve their own pain as I and many others have. I'm just getting really angry at the persecution of the millions of good people like myself, and I refuse to just accept the system as it is. if we all did that, women would never have the right to vote, blacks wouldn't be going to school with everybody else and sitting wherever they want on a bus, hell the magna carta wouldn't have come about and we'd still be in the dark ages. I can't idly sit by anymore and watch our world go to shit. I don't know what I'll do, but I wont' let myself die before doing something to improve this country and get the truth out, no matter how small.
and if anybody has ideas for fighting this bullshit, feel free to share.

Here's a summary of the charges I clipped from cannabisculture.com:
In a major press conference held in Seattle, American officials accused Emery of "conspiracy to produce marijuana and distribute marijuana seeds, and money laundering."
The DEA and other agencies are claiming that by selling seeds to pot-growing Americans, Emery engaged in a criminal enterprise with the growers. In the eyes of his accusers, providing marijuana seeds is the same as selling marijuana produced from those seeds.
"Their activities resulted in the growing of tens of thousands of marijuana plants in America," claimed US federal attorney Jeff Sullivan. "[Emery] was involved, allegedly, in an illegal distribution of marijuana in [the United States.] He is a drug dealer."
OR Freebird
07-30-2005, 09:19 PM
And a final quote from US Emery seed orderers:
Of particular interest for customers of Emery??s seed site is the DEA claim that they have traced Emery??s seeds to illegal grows in Indiana, Florida, California, Tennessee, Montana, Virginia, Michigan, New Jersey and North Dakota.
While it is not known if these claims are accurate, or what action if any the DEA intends to take against people who have grown marijuana using Emery seeds, prudence would dictate that people who have ordered from Emery during the past two years should consider whether they might be a target of investigations, especially if they are involved in large-scale commercial cultivation.
You are so right, who is next? Seedsdirect?
Canada must speak out and stop this, if we do not, your government will be no better than Americas. Do you want Canada to be Americas bitch?
It's ok to say no to AMerica, I am sure they will only invade you to change you if you stand up to them.

STAND UP FOR YOUR COUNTRY AND DON'T BLAME AMERICA, LET AMERICA KNOW YOU ARE CANADIANS WITH YOUR OWN LAWS AND YOU WONT BE DICTATED
think about it, man. do you think canada could really do it by themselves? i'm ashamed of all countries who have allowed america to come in and ruining their culture. the point is, canada, along with the other countries that have america on their side, made the choice to be watched over by america. if something was to go wrong in your country, america would come to your aid. i guess the canadian government failed to realize that their marijuana policies would not be put up with by the stricter, america.
i blame no one else, but marc emery. you know what your getting into by allowing america citizens to purchase marijuana seeds from you. don't get me wrong, i appreciate his candidness, but it wasn't a good choice.
that's my two cents.

Pot Activist Faces Extradition
Vancouver ?? Marc Emery, Canada's most prominent pro-marijuana activist, is facing the possibility of life imprisonment in the United States for selling marijuana seeds over the Internet to U.S. customers.
In a stunning development, RCMP officers arrested the self-proclaimed ??Prince of Pot? in Halifax yesterday after a U.S. federal grand jury indicted him on charges of conspiracy to distribute marijuana seeds, conspiracy to distribute marijuana and conspiracy to engage in money laundering.
The charges stem from Mr. Emery's lucrative sale of marijuana seeds, an activity he has carried on from his Vancouver base with minimal legal penalty for 10 years.
??I've sold about four million seeds,? the marijuana mogul boasted in a 2002 media interview. ??Unlike most other seed dealers, I use my real name and I'm easy to find.?
U.S. drug-enforcement officials said they will seek Mr. Emery's extradition from Canada to stand trial in Seattle, where conviction on either of the marijuana charges carries a minimum prison term of 10 years to a maximum of life.
Special Agent Rodney Benson of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency said Mr. Emery, 47, has distributed millions of cannabis seeds to U.S. customers over the years, earning as much as $3-million annually.
??I am pleased to announce that he is out of business as of today,? Mr. Benson told a Seattle news conference. ??His overblown arrogance and abuse of the rule of law will no longer be on display. Like other drugs, marijuana harms the innocents.?
By mid-afternoon, an attempt to access Mr. Emery's business on the Internet produced a message, in large red letters: ??Emery Seeds has been raided by the DEA and is shut down.?
The arrest of Mr. Emery, also head of the B.C. Marijuana Party, was accompanied by a simultaneous Vancouver Police raid of party headquarters on the edge of the city's drug-ravaged Downtown Eastside.
Police were acting on a search warrant signed by Associate Chief Justice Patrick Dohm of the B.C. Supreme Court, who agreed there were reasonable grounds to believe that the three conspiracy charges ??over which the United States of America has jurisdiction have been committed.?
Mr. Emery's supporters, four of whom were carted away for lying down in front of a police van, were outraged by the day's events.
Puffing openly on marijuana, they pounded drums, chanted at passing motorists and brandished signs damning the DEA for intruding into Canada.
??I was completely shocked,? said well-known pot activist David Malmo-Levine, who took his fight against Canada's marijuana laws to the Supreme Court of Canada.
??It's appalling for the U.S. to come in here and try to police our country. To arrest Canadians to face their penalties and their laws is completely wrong,? he said, standing in front of an upside down U.S. flag with the words ??DEA Go Away? on it.
Two other marijuana activists were also arrested in Vancouver on the same charges as Mr. Emery, at the request of U.S. authorities yesterday ?? Michelle Rainey-Fenkarek, 34, and Gregory Williams, 50.
Television footage showed an undercover officer wearing a balaclava bundling Mr. Williams into a police vehicle.
The extradition hearing is certain to highlight a clash between the Draconian drug laws of the United States and Canada's more benign approach to marijuana use.
Only last week, the B.C. Court of Appeal rejected a two-year jail term for a convicted marijuana grower as excessive, while Ottawa is moving to decriminalize possession of small amounts of pot.
Assistant U.S. attorney Jeff Sullivan said there is no chance of marijuana being legalized in the United States. ??Marijuana is not a benign drug. There are more kids in treatment for addiction to marijuana than for all other illegal drugs combined,? Mr. Sullivan claimed.
Last year, Mr. Emery spent two months in a Saskatoon jail for passing a joint around at a pro-pot rally, the only time he has been sent to prison for any of his 11 marijuana-related convictions in Canada.
U.S. officials praised the ??outstanding co-operation? of Canadian law-enforcement agencies in their 18-month investigation of Mr. Emery's seed business, 75 per cent of which they said was aimed at Americans.
If I have bought from Emery I would DEFINATELY be hiding some shit right now! Not later...NOW!!! This is complete and total bullshit and for what it's worth, as an American, you have my appologies!!!!!

--- Marijuana is the most widely used illegal drug by American youth.
--- Many places in America have mandatory addiction treatment if you are convicted of possession.
...I wonder if there's any correlation...

American Government is turning into a Totalitarianism govt. As much as the ppl say no to these laws, the government still decides on its own. We don't have any say anymore, notice? All of our "elected" officials decide what's best for us. I love america and what it was, and should be. But what its becoming is pissing me off.

There are just as many uptight bitches in Canada as there are in America, but they're just not in control, yet! You Canadians better be careful. A few of the wrong people get into power, and your drugs laws could be as bad as ours. They're sending back Renee Boje, they're trying to extradite Marc Emery, your canadian politicians seem to be caving in to the conservative retards like the politicians here.
