yea im a fan of this fuckin kick ass movie!!! well thx for the info, and by the way, even if i know its totally out of this subject, but i found like 2 or 3 things pretty strange in this movie. like when theyre in the casino, we can see, real fast, a member of the ku klux klan in the casino, just nowhere. and when theyre in the bathroom (with the orange and radio thing), we can see a hand closed, just like the skinhead sign, wrote with some shave cream on the wall. anyway i dont know if this means any racist thing, but just wonderin if anyone remarked it.

That movie fucking rocks.

Did anyone else notice that in the bar he ordered some drink with 'mescal on the side'? Was mescaline legal then or something?

Ganj
07-27-2005, 06:03 AM
mescaline isn't really illegal, so to speak. as long as you have no intent on ingesting the mescaline (which the law doesn't have to know) then your okay.

they did some crazy stuff
it's supposedly all true, well more true than not

"We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon."

i'm going to rent the moive tommorow

i have the criterion's collection of the movie. in it is thompsons elaborate journey; fear and loathing in las vegas.

hope you enjoy the movie equally as much as you did the book. i, myself have to look for that and sit down and read it.

mescal comes from mescal beans...it is in no way related to and contains absoloutly no mescaline...erowid has the info on this....also adenochrome will NOT make you trip...its totally a myth....

that's awesome! i bet it was an exciting paper. just the thought of fear and loathing in a school environment is exciting.

velvet acid christ does suck for the most part, but "fun with drugs" is unlike their other stuff i think...and it quotes the movie a lot...makes it kinda funny

Yes, there is 2 seperate ones, the one with Jonny Depp and the other actors, and then there is one with Hunter, man he was on his own planet..

righteous!...i can only imagine what would have been said, "teach, it was part of the assignment, how else do you expect me to get on thompson's level"?

what does everyone think of johnny depp's performance? i think he did a wonderful job of playing thompson....he's equally as wierd as him.

yo ozzyoz, did you ever watch the movie? tell me what you thought about it.
