I hear ya. Many christians seem to be just as intent on "saving" everybody by "showing them the light" (i.e. converting everybody) through scare tactics and violence as these militant muslim groups are. It isn't hard, from a christian viewpoint, to justify the use of violence for conversion. You think, well, if nobody in this population accepts Jesus, they will all go to hell. But if I use force to convert them to Jesus, some will go to hell if they die before repenting but many will be spared eternal damnation. Christianity was one of the main motives behind some of the worst acts of violence in history: the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the Holocaust, the conquest/genocide of the Native Americans, African colonization, and countless European wars just to name a few. Christian missionaries have destroyed traditional cultures wherever they go, forcing them to reject aspects of their lives as "sinful" and embrace christian culture instead.

Their goal is clear: get every man, woman and child on earth to believe in Jesus, so as to maximize the number of people getting into heaven, even if it means destroying cultures and using violence. For them, the ends justify the means. We can already see it happening here in America on a large scale. Christian political groups are trying to get the United States officially recognized as a "judeo-christian country" and force everybody to act in accordance with "judeo-christian values", regardless of their beliefs. It's no secret, they are openly admitting to this! "Love it or leave it", they say, as if there were some free society we could go to where people don't try to impose their beliefs on others. Christians make the government accept their church's views on homosexual marriage, polygamy, prostitution, drug use, pornography, and other stuff that shouldn't be anybody's business except the people involved, thus forcing everybody to live according to their religious convictions through violence (via the police)! Many of these groups even openly deny the existence of the separation of church and state (and deny that one would even be desirable if the wording of the Constitution doesn't already provide us with one). There could only be one reason for such a denial: allow christianity to use the power of the state for its own goals. The church and state harm society enough separately; it will be complete disaster when they fuse.

Personally, I agree that the fundamentalist Christian groups are a threat to democracy, but they do not present nearly as big a danger to our society, and very existence, as the radical Muslims - and there is not a single word on those Muslim websites to persuade me that they are interested in stopping the attacks. They are also commanded by their faith, at the very least, to convert everybody - apparently, they've been somewhat successful in Europe and other places.

I'm one of the few here,who has been exposed to a fundy muslim society,so I don't need to read the info at the sites you have linked to,but I do urge those who have not experienced life in a fundy muslim country,to go to the links you provided,so that they can better understand the nature of the enemy that we face.

Rather than seeking ways to excuse muslim jihadists of their brutal acts,and pointing the finger at Christianity instead,folks should at least learn the nature of fundy muslims and be truthful about all the harm that they are causing today in the world.

My little sister,is a Christian missonary and has been to several countries,she did not use threats or violence,in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Those Christian missionaries who did use violence in the past,to bring folks to Christ,were clearly wrong and Christians do not use such tactics,anymore. However,muslims have always and continue to do so,use violence and threats,to convert others to Islam. It is muslims,who are enslaving Christians..and Christians,who are buying them out of slavery..even as we speak.

I think that the intention is tolerance, but it isn't any good because the monotheists (Judeo-Christians & Muslims) are self-destructive - the whole philosophy of these religions is anti-human, and pro "spiritual" (re: ignorance). The leaders, with the money, would split up the spoils among themselves. Some of our friends' "conspiracy" theories are far-fetched, but there is an element of truth to it when you realize that all religion is a good way to control the masses.

I am a materialist, and that is the only way that I can honestly live. I would not expect to live comfortably in an Islamic theocracy, in Israel, or in a Fundamentalist Christian environment. Why should I change, in my own country, to accommodate the predilections of Islam - in addition to all the other crap we have here? I have to go through hell just to get to work every day, because of the terrorist threat. And, I am quite sure that they are going to attempt to unleash some kind of chemical, nuclear, or biological weapon here if they can. I just hope that Iâ??m wrong, OR we wake up and take the proper steps to prevent it.

Listen, I've got some ideas to slow down the terrorists, without nukes - but I doubt that the government would go along with it. These beheadings, for instance, are a starting point. We have at least 500 captured Taliban and Al Quada guys in Guantanamo Bay. Every time that there is a beheading, or other similar murderous act of terror, we could USE some of them by filming their execution and broadcasting it to the Middle East. Rather than behead them, or give them the firing squad, we should use tried and true creative techniques â?? such as the use of meat grinders as a method of execution. Throw in a dead pig, just to show them how much we â??respectâ?� their convoluted belief system.

We are dealing with fanatical, homicidal maniacs. The only way to get rid of them is to hit them hard, by any means necessary. If it means blowing up the homes of their relatives who are paid when they jihad, then we should do that too.

We used to have a gangster here named Crazy Joe Gallo. He kept a tiger, in a cage, in his basement. When somebody didn't keep up with their payments, or whatever, he'd take them downstairs and show them the cat. Nobody ever needed any more persuasion.

Once, when he was sent to prison, the guards wanted to teach him a "lesson". Joe was not a big guy, physically, and they locked him in a cell with the biggest, craziest lunatic inmate they had - and went out to play cards. After a few minutes they heard a godawful scream, and figured that the big psycho had attacked Joe. When they got to the cell, Gallo was standing by the toilet, dropped something in the bowl, and flushed it. The big inmate was on the floor holding his head, which was bleeding. Gallo had BIT off an ear from the guy, and that was what he flushed down.

A clever leader will convince people that the war they are fighting is not for the leader's personal gain, but rather for the good of the people, or in the name of whatever god they worship. Of course the rank and file, the people who aren't able to think for themselves, will be convinced that it's about religion, but it's really not, and it's quite easy to see once you wake up. Believe me, this has been true for thousands of years.

There was another story of a (non-Muslim) kid whose father worked in the WTC being told by his (Muslim) playmate to stop his father from going to work on 9/11. This was several days, or weeks, prior to the attacks. That story was in the news, and the Middle Eastern family disappeared after the attacks, eluding the FBI.

The days of European immigrants, and their descendants, driving cabs in New York are over. Ask ANYBODY that has been here in the past 20 or so years. There are VERY few.

You are attributing belief systems, and emotional responses, to me that I do not have. First, I am not a Christian, nor do I espouse any other religion(s). I do believe that religion, in whatever form, is a bad idea. Right now, the Muslim extremists are the most dangerous - but that could change. If many of the Germans were capable of being in denial (at the very least) of the horrendous Nazi regime, then I do not see why many of the Arabs cannot also be guilty of the same, or similar, wrongs.

Where did I say that ALL Muslims are suicide bombers? I know that they aren't, but the religion itself is against many the principles that my country was founded on. This is NOT to deny that slavery and many other injustices existed (and some still do) in the U.S., but the religion of Islam does not allow for "equality", so it's a foregone conclusion that it's adherents do not fit in here - or many other Western countries. I stated before that I would not want to live in Israel, or the other Middle East places, because I do not agree with their governments, belief systems, and lifestyles. The experimental democracy called the United States will not be open to becoming an Islamic theocracy - which is a goal that many Muslim newspapers have supported. I do not "hate" the law-abiding people of the Muslim faith, but I have seen, first hand, what can happen when we let our guard down.
