Maine Coon Cats are my favorite breed... they are very friendly & affectionate, & also a bit dog-like (often come when you call, very social, etc.). There are several rescue sites for them, & there are some orange ones. :)

I suggest adopting a cat, from a shelter, you save a life and get a cat that is fixed with all it's shots. That is the best way to go....here is my fav kitty!

Agreed. And don't base your decision on looks. See which kittens dont mind being held, which are playful and active, which are friendly and have good personality.

A cute cat that hisses and hides under the bed all day isn't much of a pet.

Damn! I have another cat, and I just realized I have no pictures of it! BTW, this guy's a Himalayan, he's super affectionate, but a little weary of strangers. But when it's just me or people he knows, he's always running up to me, meowing and wanting to be petted, and when you call his name he always comes running and eager... I love my cat!

If you look closely at the first of my pics, you can half the face of my other cat, Mina, on the left side of the pic. Actually she looks a lot like your Bell, but with short hair and a longer face :D

These are 2 of my 3 cats,

The Grey one is a Blue Burmese who we found called Tulip
The black and white one is called Juve (Juventus cos he is black + white) he is the son of my OTHER cat Pikachu who we found half dead and who gave birth to 6 kittens.

Juve is HUGE the vet told us he needs a diet, in that pic he dont look that big its pretty old but he is VERY HEAVY.

Tulip is very smart when i say "kisses" she jumps up on 2 legs and kisses me. And one time i was trippin hard and i got her high for her 1st time and im sure she said "HEY WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT GO GET ME SOME MUNCHIES NOW... BITCH!"

Cats are so awesome. I have 2. I used to think I was a dog person, but now I realize thats just because I never had a cat before. I had thought they were mean and a waste of space given that they didn't whore their affection to me (a stranger), their aloofness hurt my pride, lol. Real dumb and very egocentric on my part.

Now I know cats are so cool, they love their humans sooo much and do some of the funniest things to get attention and affection. My one kitty always has to be in the same room as me, and she happily follows behind me everywhere I go. She's also the vocal one who will announce when she's woken up from a nap, and when she wants pets and scratches (she'll get a 'tude and only get louder if you ignore her...she's so hilarious, such a princess).
My other kitty is a big ball of testosterone. Such a big tough guy in a marshmallow exterior. He walks like a lion, and is very dominating over my little princess. Its just funny cuz he looks like such a foo-foo cat when he is soooo not. Cracks me up. Also very affectionate and always greets me at the door when I come home. But he doesn't require as much love and affection as my little girl.

Cats are wonderful and addicting, I'd like to get another one. :o

Egyptian Maus are one of the best breeds I have ever had the honor of owning. I have a 16 month old Egyptian Mau named Ramses and he is smart, agile, loyal, elegant... I could go on all day.

This breed was the very first ever domesticated, once treated like royalty... Now, they are so populous in Egypt that people actually drown them right in the streets :( There are Mau rescue programs, and if you have the means to do so, please do. You won't regret it.
