I've got some response from the Midlands chapter of NORML, but other than Clemson's chapter, there's nothing for us here in the Upstate. Does anyone think there is enough of a presence here in the conservative corner of South Carolina to warrant an Upstate Chapter of NORML?

Im in Greenwood, and wish there were a chapter closer by. The one in Clemson would be 60+ miles, and the one in Columbia would be 70+ miles.
Ive been to one of the meetings in Clemson, and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, Greenwood, which has smokers, probably wouldnt supply enough members to sustain a chapter. Anderson, Greenville, are better bets

I thought Anderson would be a great location as well. With all the lakes and industry, you'd think that there would be enough of us that don't fit into the college crowd (age, family, responsibility) that would benefit from getting together and sharing our experiences and working with one another to combat mis-guided attempts from our state and federal officails to lump cannabis into a category of bad drugs when there are clearly much more dangerous "legal"/prescription drugs that clearly do not have near the pain relieving power of the weed.
I'll keep this open. Hopefully there will be enough to warrant us getting together in more of the Upstate. Either way, it looks like Hank has a good group going down in Columbia.
Cheers,

I went to one of the meetings at Clemson once
They had a professor speak on cannabinoid (sp?) receptors and the benefits of medical marijuana.
It was quite interesting.

Let's do a chapter in Anderson. I will go to meetings. Even if we keep in touch via email or group, and pass info on legislations, and what we can do to help as far as writing, voting, etc. That would be nice.

Played in a band called WhiteWolf a few years ago...
Just email or write Norml from their website, and you should get all the info and requirements you need. Usually to start a group of any kind, requires a building 1st. then if you get a meeting place...you are in the ballgame. Goodluck upstate. We'll be rooting for ya. Peace
