home grown

Has anyone here grown thier own? Home grown was always crap when I was a kid but I hear it's a whole different story now.

I tried to grow once but I didn't have the proper know how nor the proper gear for an indoor grow so it didn't turn out so well but most of the stuff I get is home grown and it is good stuff

Gosh, I read in this GA forums about all those people being dry in Atlanta, and bygolly I feel lucky!! I'm further south than Atlanta about 1hr out and I luckily my friend hooked me up tonight. I hated spending that money but the smoke was OK I guess. But I've got a few beautiful girls growing around out side and in just a couple of months I'll be toking away. I grew 2 last year in buckets (first time growing) and I must say that I felt it was a lot better than the stuff I had been purchasing for most of my smoking life. Don't get me wrong it wasn't the best I ever smoked but it was sweeter (translated cheaper) and pretty damn potent too. No strain but good bagseed. Anyway with what I've learned from all the grow forums I'm hoping to have some tasty weed this year. I hate it for all those folks up in the big city (and I was always a little bit jealous of being a hick).. well anyway, folks up there, I been there before too(dry) this one's for you. :)

are your current girls from bagseed or did you buy something special?

No all of mine are bagseed. I saved them throughout the year (if the smoke was halfway good), planted them and hoped for the best. I'd be too scared to order any from somewhere (Murphy seems to live with me lately). But my friend from IL brought me some seeds last year and said they were from some killer stuff going for over $200 an oz I gotta admit it was some of the best I'd ever had You just can't buy that around here where I live (nor could I afford it if I found it) but I've got 4 of those growing now and hope I do everything right. Now don't get me wrong I don't deal period. No $ would I take for any of my stuff but I'll share a couple of buds with my friends and family if my yield turns out good. A lot could happen between now and harvest tho, bugs, animals, the MAN, or my paranoia could cause me to rip them up. I have a lot to lose and I think here in GA if you're manufacturing you are automatically distributing too. That sucks.

I think I'm going to look for an outdoor spot next year but I'll try my first batch indoors and see what happens.

reefergrl- you should hook up with the some of the ATL crew that post on this site for a taste test. We are tenativly planning a follow up for blunt day were we can try a few diffrent smokes over dinner. Drop me, scarlettcrush, bluntman, or mushkins a line.

Jus, would love to get together for a meeting of the minds and taste buds but it just isn't in the cards right now. No time off work (new job) and weekend job to boot. It'll be a little while before I have any time off to take. Plus my stash isn't ready, don't want to show up empty-handed. Stuff won't be mature til Sept or Oct and then a few weeks of curing. But in Nov or Dec it might work out for me. Mush says sometimes y'all's get togethers are during the week that would work a lot better for me. Maybe towards the end of the year. I'm looking forward to it.

I make my own schedule. During the week is cool w/me. A few of us are getting together tonight for dinner. Mush is bringing a new strain to try. Don't worry if your not holding, no-one cares.
