Cam's got a picture of his stealth box, and he has a blue light.. obv for the blue part of the spectrum. Could I substitute this with a blue film screen? like they use on stage.. regular light showing through the blue screen.. same effect?

Hmm but I don't use that light... instead I put in its place another fluro light only because I heard tha light was no good....but yes it did have blue spectrum for plants, atleast thats what it said. Does there have to be blue spectrum?

No that will not work. That's just a tint not an enhanced spectrum.

you can get all the "blue" spectrum you need with a regular "white" flouro tube, cool white to be exact. or "cw". the cheap bulbs from the hardware store do fine, just change them every 6 months(the spectrum wears out even if the light still works). i dont believe in fancy "grow tubes", simple cw works wonders in veg and flowering(combined with HPS). Metal Halide in veg makes for a wonderful "blue" spectrum, but its not a "blue" people can see with their eyes. the plant see's it tho. does there have to be a blue spectrum? it's in your best interest(and the plants) to provide it.

Hmm, once my seeds have finished germinating, what type of globe should I use on them? I'm thinking of just a fluro for the vegetation stage, and maybe another type when they're ready to flower. Is there a thread on globes? Because I need a run-down on all of the different types and what's the preferred for growing.

Peace,
