Okay, having a surprise party for my husband on Saturday (his 35th is Sunday). Nothing big--probably about 10-12 people. BUT, I need music going all day, so I want you guys to tell me what your favorite songs to hear at a party are. There are a few that, when I hear them come on, it's like "Aaaaaaahhhhh--I LOVE this song!" Jane Says from Jane's Addiction is one of those for me. Oh, and Franklins Tower from the Dead. So.....I need to have some good CD's that I can just pop in and leave alone. We like ALL kinds of music--from classic Led Zep to hip hop. Come through for me all--I gotta get this done!!!! Thanks :D

Nothing like pure cheese at a party.

Anything dodgey from the 80's always goes down well.

DISCO!! :D

Oh I hear you!!!! I LOVE disco. I love the 70's--beginning to end--besides Dallas, infomercials, and diet cookies (what's the freaking point?????) I'd LOVE to have a disco party--I've got these black lacey/crochet bell bottoms that I love to wear nothing but a thong underneath--Mr. Irie hates it!!! I just loved the gluttoneous (is that a word?????) attitude of the 70's folk. I was born in 1970--no good. Would have liked to actually LIVE in the late 60's-early 70's. Not been in pre-k. LOL That would be a trip, man. :D

Let's Get It Started = Black Eyed Peas / Sugar = Trick Daddy / Little Darlin' = The Diamonds / Brass Monkey = Beastie Boys / Staying Alive (Dance Traxx Remix) = Bee Gees / Jump Jive 'n Wail = Brian Setzer Orchestra / Busy Child = Crystal Method / Why Do Good Girls Like Bad Guys = DMX / Free Bird (preferably live version) = Lynyrd Skynyrd / Channel Surfing = Feature Cast / Hippy Hippy Shake = The Georgia Satellites / Rockafella Skank = Fatboy Slim / OPP = Naughty by Nature / Keep Your Hands to Yourself = The Georgia Satellites / I Wanna Be Sedated = The Offspring / Turning Japanese = The Vapors / Best of My Love = The Emotions / Papa's Got a Brand New Bag = James Brown

I could go on all day... I loooooves me some perky music! :) You could also try going to the iTunes music store, then searching through the iMixes people have made for 'party' or something... you could probably find a lot of inspiration there, even if you purchase them from someplace else. Have a fun time!

I'm right there with ya. I wonder if in 5-10 years though if the 80's will be as glamourized as the 70's have been this past decade. I remember when the 60's were glamourized all over the media, movies, and fashion. Remember Woodstock '94? LOL, I think that killed it, and it was time to move on to a new era. :D

And rock those bell bottoms, girl! Wear some super flashy dangly earrings, some body glitter, slip your tootsies into your favorite pair of Candies and shake your groove thing!! :p

LMAO, great music but don't know if everybody at the party would appreciate it ;) .

I'd suggest:

In Flames - The Quiet Place
Soilwork - rejection role
Iron Maiden - The Wicker Man
