Alcoholism is very prominient within the gene pool of my family, extending as far back as to my great grandfather who used to smuggle alcohol into the US during the Prohibition of the 1920. as a non drinker, I have an extremly high tolerance to hard liquor. For example, last night I was at the strip club. I usually never drink there, but this time I decided I wanted to get fucked up just for the fun of it. I ordered a shot of Stoli vodka...downed the nasty disgusting tasting thing which burned my throat like fuck. few mins later...no buzz..no dizzy..nothing. I order another shot of Stoli, down it all in one gulp. Belching a burp, and feeling a burn run thru my stomach I await my drunken stupor....nothing...just fucking nothing. For the last time, I ordered a shot of The Antichrist, using all of the highest proof liquor available including 160 proof everclear. I down that nasty rubbing alcohol tasting shit...and 2 mins later I feel a very mild buzz accompany me. What the fuck?? Just what the fuck, I tell myself as I recall an event when I drank 1 Heiniken beer, and was laughing my ass off allready! Of ONE FUCKING HEINIKEN, but after 3 shots of high proof hard liquor, I get a mild buzz. Anybody got any relations to this? ANy points to make out? Call me a troll, but what I just gave you really happened.

Yeah clevelands right I don't drink much maybe like 5 times a year but 2-3 shots i jsut get relaxed but after about 8 I can barely walk lol.

Yeah but the dude said he get a buzz off of one beer so it's obviously not that he's not drinking enough alcohol. If one shot of 80 proof = 1 beer, he drank the equivalent of about 6 beers and if he catches a buzz off of one beer he should have been pretty messed up.

Wow, I'm not a drinker and i did 14 shots of vodka and then 5 of gin before i lost count and when i woke up it realized that i had drank about 1/3 of a 5th of nasty ass coconut rum. I had such a bad hangover and ive never ever drank since.

What you drank is not much. I too have an extremely high tolerance to alcohol. Or at least I did when I drank which was a while back but i'm only 20 so it wasn't that long. when i was 17-18 I could drink 50 ounces of Dry Gin (40%) in a night. I don't know how many shots that is. But it's alot of alcohol considering most people i know can't drink a 26 ounce bottle of any hard liquor in one sitting without puking their guts out. I would drink 26'ers to myself and i would polish them off in about an hour and a half and I would still be good enough to drive for like 5 hours up north into Quebec in the middle of a fog at like 1 am. Drink more my friend, drink more.

Anyway, drink more. I know 3 shots feels like alot, because each one is hand-picked throat torture directly from the bowels of satan, but here's a popular trick for making the process of getting drunk more tolerable. Drink rum and coke, and for the first 5 drinks, make the mixture 1 part rum to 5-9 parts coke. After the first five, change the formula to 50/50. Or even higher. ;)

Or just drink a shitload of woman drinks. There's this one I got drunk off of once, had to drink like a bajillion, and it ended up costing alot, but they taste identical to sprite. I can't remember the name. :( They're popular though.

you definately need to drink more. peoples tolerances to alcohal very alot but one of the most i've ever drank was 1/5 of vadka and needless to say i was severely fucked up. me and my friend took the half gallon of vadka challenge and didn't even come close. together we finished maybe a little over half and i was unimaginably drunk. but i also come from a long line of alcohalics. and for some reason its still legal while weeds not. i've never smoked so much i passed out on a cement floor and pissed myself all night. but 3 shots of anythign isn't really enough to get u drunk.

I love it i can get drunk so easy. Like okay last night i drank 4-5(cant remeber) mikes hard lemonades, had a shot of JD and a shot of cameral vodka, and i was fucked up. I can get drunk so easy. Like 3 mikes hard lemonades and im feeling super, 6 and im fucked up. Most shots ive ever taken was 13 of vodka, or atleast thats what i remeber taking lol. Usually on a good night where i wnana get fucked up, i drink 1 mike or 2 and have 5-8 shots of 80 proof shit and that will fuck me up. i rememeber last yr in ibiza i was drinkin malibu and pineapple from 10am, it was bout half 11 and i had shit loads to drink espc at night, then i had 2 shots of Ouzo (Sp) 3 Shots of Absinthe and 2 shots of sum coffee liquor and i was compeltly fuccked upppp my m8 was even worse tho he was cryin and we had to hide the phone in the htoel room from him cause he said he "was gonna call the FBI" lmao im goin back to the same place wednesday (5days :D)with the same m8 so i should have another excitin tale to tell :p

As I said before, I had never drunk anything, so I had no idea what was the drunken point of shots. I actually thought that just a couple of shots will do the job...guess I was wrong lol!

Like everyone has already said, 3 shots will probably just give you a buzz.

There are other factors to consider, as well, as to why you got buzzed off one beer, but it took 3 shots to get you buzzed at another time - Like whether you've eaten or not is a good factor. If I haven't eaten very much 1 beer will get me nicely buzzed. If I just ate a big meal 3 drinks (I dont do shots) may not even get me a buzz.

I recommend jungle juice (watermelon chunks soaked in vodka or everclear), you feel like you're just eating some fruit...dont eat too many though! Also vodka and coke (1-2 shots vodka w/1 can coke) is pretty mild. Rum and coke may be too sweet and alcohol-y tasting, but its a popular mix for a reason. Whatever your preference. Gin and tonic I like as well. I personally find beer an inefficient way of getting drunk cuz I get full before I get a buzz, but of course people find thats a good route too. You probably wouldn't be "drunk" until at least 5 or 6 beers though..the magic number is more like 8-10.

And dont expect to get drunk right away. You shouldn't be getting drunk in a hurry anyways. Just sip your drinks, take your time, most people it takes 2+ hours of drinking before they start getting drunk.
