Which pills?

I decided I would like to try DXM. I am 5'10", about 170 pounds. How many mg of DXM should I take to have a good "trip"? Which pills contain DXM as the active ingredient, and which ones should I take?

There is no way I'm chugging cough syrup, so don't recommend it.

You could try the robo cough gels, each containing 15mg of DXM, but chugging syrup isn't as gross as it might seem, the first time.

It says for a 170lb individual at least 600mg would be needed for a 3rd plateau experience, adjust how you want.

Honestly, if you haven't had experience with disassociatives 3rd plateau might be a little much for you to handle. That's just my oppinion though ;)

That's good to know. What else is considered as a dissociative?

I might just stick to around 300mg to see how it goes.

So how is a hallucinogen different from such dissociatives as datura, belladona, and DXM? Don't those three make you trip, meaning they would be hallucinogens?

Diphenhydramine, datura and belladonna are more commonly known as anticholinergic deleriants. I've never heard anybody refer to them as dissociatives.

The difference between a deleriant and a hallucinogen is that on drugs like diphenhydramine you truly can't tell what is real from what is not.
"Hallucinogen" is a broad term though.

So what do dissociatives actually do?

I've read about DXM on Erowid and read many threads on this forum about DXM, but I'm still not 100% sure of what its effects are. It seems to make some people hallucinate, while others, it just makes them feel kind of drunk. Some get sick, some don't.

DXM, PCP and ketamine have all been shown to act on NMDA receptors in the brain (among others). They all have anaesthetic effects, or make the user feel as if their mind has been disconnected from the body.
The effects of DXM are seperated into dose-dependant plateaus or levels of effects. As the dose increases the effects change from feelings of drunkeness to full blown dissociation and hallucinations in the "4th Plateau".

Im not into DXM very much, and the strongest experience I have had was probably in the 3rd plateau after having chugged a bottle of robitussin. I felt pretty numb and extremely uncoordinated, loosing sense of space and time. I don't remember hallucinating, or anything else for that matter.

Nullific your like a genious with this stuff dude haha..lol well later dude and have fun haha yeah i did 550 or somewhere around that my first time....and then my second time did 300 and both were good 550 kicked my ass thought and 300 still did a good job and im 5 9 165 so were about the same

Ok, thanks. What was your 300mg trip like?; how about the 550mg trip? I am going to do it next week instead.

300 mgs is a standard dxm trip for me
