I'm hearing all sorts of ways of germinating the seeds, but i want to kno the most effective.. what are the real necessities? i heard u can germinate a seed through soil, but its not effective.. i heard you can germinate a seed with a wet paper towel but theres dentramental toxins in the fabric.. i need concrete answers...

i have about 16 seeds trying to germinate.. 10 r in a wet paper towel in a cup, on top of my monitor.. over night they dried out (i passed out before i could saturate it agian) so i'm doing it again.. the other 6 or so are in a wet paper towel in a plastic container (closed) in an unused grill outside..

far as i kno.. heat, moisture, and darkness are the key elements... am i wrong? wat are the most effective ways of germinating the seeds that u kno, tried, or heard of? if u can, plz give details..

Germing seeds and growing is like Monopoly everyone knows how to play but all by different rules. I myself don't presoak seeds ... WHY ? I put them in a wet papertowel. I usa warm water and soak a papertowel and place it in a small throw away glad container ( like tupperware ) and place the seeds in it and another wet papertowel on top and put the lid on and place in a warm area.

I put my seed directly into the soil.(in small pots).
5mm in and no further.
If it dosent come up in the dirt then I dont want to know about it.

Mushroom compost is the Best for starting seedlings off Imo.

Why would you want to cook your seeds?

well direct steam would cook the seeds, but in a steam system if i made one i'd b able to just make a humid chamber for them, possibly even warm

You Have to Live Buy KISS (keep it simple stupid).

Like I said If you fell you need to Then put the seeds on a damp paper towel and put the paper towel on a plate and leave it on the window sill.

I dont mean to sound Patrinising But the KISS theory works well for me has done for over 10yrs....;)
